    My PJ555 has a B neck, but mine is a JDM version. Maybe that's what Duff ended up with?

    My Gumtree find has come along - I've ordered the tuner but have borrowed one from the 4-string I have here for now as the strings turned up today. I had to break out the soldering iron as one pickup wasn't working, a quick setup later and a new battery and it's really good. Sounds great, the action is low, neck is straight too. It's one of those where it's so easy to play it feels like it's detuned a whole tone. Bargain!

    I am interested in this too, as I am not a fan of the A neck. I have an Allen Eden Jazz which has B neck dimensions and is lovely!

    It sounds like it could be a phase issue, have you tried swapping the connections of one pickup?

    It's all working now, except the one part I need! I have emailed them to see what the crack is... You can buy the B-bass 4 bridge with the drop tuner on there - not cheap though at €175 😱

    That's bloody brilliant that is! Thanks @Jabba_the_gut I am starting to think the pickup surrounds are going to have to be made, possibly from a pickguard blank. Stainless sheet, or maybe wood are also options...
