  1. Isn't the weight thing about Fender running out of (or more likely not being willing to pay for) US Swamp Ash?
  2. My '77 is 10.2lb with the ash can on. I reckon 3lb of that is varnish.
  3. Just remember to get some reinforced wall brackets
  4. Beautiful, but I can feel the weight of it from here!
  5. Seeing your Wal (which looks a remarkably similar vintage to mine made me update my settee settings:
  6. How much for the cat?
  7. I should have known. Have you looked up the story about the CIA stalking Bruichladdich when their virtual tour web cams broke down?
  8. Is the PC bit rather like the Scotch Malt Whisky Society numbering....traditionally to get around copyright?
  9. 4.44kg without frets....that's got to be genuine...what a beast. All you've got to be able to do is play it well!
  10. We are not only getting shoe commentary, but post gig Malt whisky preferences (I think!). Can I ask what PC7 is? And let's continue with this great trend!
  11. I agree with all of that. And for what it's worth (Albeit I am a Treasurer not an accountant), I was only picking up on the instinct to round numbers to neatness!
  12. That is one very beautiful bass (I'm not going to comment on its owner)
  13. Not to take anything away from your fantastic generosity, but your not an accountant are you?
  14. Well said! I am sure that's how we all feel
  15. I think it has been a pleasure for all 270 ish of us. Thank you Clarky for getting us curmudgeonly bottom enders into serving a brilliant cause!
  16. 7 Racks total. Each holds 35 CDs. All varnished and in good condition. Each has two screw holes for wall attachment. Will sell separately at £17.50 a rack. Prefer collection
  17. What a beautiful bass, although it looks like it has been well loved, and well played GLWTS
  18. Almost looks like its got woodworm!
  19. No one has mentioned the Italian Job yet. Somewhere buried in the documentary for the film is where the Director was desparately trying to work out how they were going to finish the movie (looking for a sequel). I am pretty sure it was Quincy Jones sitting down with the director and Michael Cane sketched out the famous Coach on the Edge of a cliff scene on the back of a restaurant napkin. Quincy Jones was a genius. As a grumpy old non Michael Jackson fan (other than the story about his snake eating the pet parrot in the Thriller Studio), I love all the Brothers Johnson stuff and all his big band material.
  20. Definitely not with a 'syrup' like that.
  21. With us it's the cats....at 4am...they just don't tell you they've done it......
  22. Most parents couldn't write what you just wrote Andy. I know you will keep all of this exchange for your Iris (there are about 200 of us who will have it in case you lose it). You (and your partner) are doing what every parent who loves their child would do. Plumber s....t happens to us all. You have the miracle of Iris and a pile of grumpy old bass players behind you (you are unique in that!). Iris and your whole family will make sure you get through this and we will all watch and be rooting for you all. That was a fantastic vid by the way...both Iris and your playing....possibly with the emphasis on Iris.
  23. That nice chap Walshy will sell you half a dozen, particularly at this price!
  24. It occurred to me that tradesmen can now price jobs in 'Rippers'....as in "I don't know about that mate....that'll set you back at least 1 1/2 Rippers". It has a bit of a ring about it
