I've played with a session guitarist who used a Peterson and it was incredible. How old is your Wal (and does it sound better than the PRS?)

I saw them live about that time (cod-pieces and all). I think they were the loudest band I have ever seen (including Motorhead etc etc). My ears were distorting in the Hammersmith Odeon.

Looking at what's available on't internet, maybe my recollection is fuzzy (if not flanged!)

And my recollection of MXR flangers from the time of New Gold Dream was that they were a lot more basic than the one you see now. I remember asking Derek about his effects then, and he said 'he just used an MXR Flanger' (and an SVT).

It was Tulip Wood, but the distinct stripes in this Shedua reminded me of it (a bit) His was older too

It has a bit of the Mick Karns about it (although I think his had lines??). Is it of a similar vintage?

So left handed basses (what ever you think of Fender Mustangs) usually go at a discount. We are talking Wal prices (plus) for a mass produced, left handed short-scale. I hope the purchaser has a monster effects board.

I'm liking the music and the turntable (which appears to be worth more than quite a lot of my basses on its own!). How did get the sound on the vid?

Thanks. I think the one Sting is playing has a very slightly different controls layout and different looking pickups (and it's fretless!), but they are both called the same thing.

So what is the fretless Sting is holding on the cover of Zenyatta Mondatta

We played for years with Hugh McKenna, who had been the keyboards player in SAHB for ages (we still miss him today.....he died just before the start of Covid). He described a support gig they did in the States, where, just before going on stage he had been offered a particularly potent spliff (he said 'he was a particularly greedy pig in those days'). Anyway said spliff had a bit too powerful a hallucinogenic effect. They were kicking off their set with 'Give my regards tot he Chef' (see vid of 'normal' performance below). For some reason, instead of the atmospheric build-up line, Hugh decided to play 'three blind mice' instead of his normal introduction, much to the incomprehension of the rest of the band.
