  1. Ten Pole Tupor (it's close enough to get the idea)
  2. Better written than most of the Bass Books I've read (with the exception of Guy Pratt'a aforementioned tome): Bunnyman by Will Sergeant (the guitarist of Echo and the Bunnymen). If you are of a certain age and liked 80s Liverpool Bands it is a really good read. I am taking the sequel: Echoes on my hollibobs.
  3. Bachman Turner Overdrivel.........sorry Paddington, I just realised I added a letter
  4. In a classical stylie: WA Mofart and JS Bath
  5. I still remember being buzzed by one of those at dusk, while camping on a Dof E expedition in the Lake District. they did make quite a noise (not the band obvs!).
  6. Very Steam Punkesque if I might say. Great looking Precision....enjoy playing it!
  7. Personally, I am really looking forward to it. We've already decided to make it a band social. Our singer has got a DVD to educate her daughter and her band about ST 1. The Italian Job II was nothing like the Italian Job (my favourite movie), but I still enjoyed it!
  8. There's a link with why Witon's on the Joni tracks isn't there (other than shear class)...wasn't Max Bennett one of her affairs?
  9. Did he play on Sreet life?
  10. These cabs do everything Phil put at the top of the ad. They are very good indeed
  11. My other amp is a Handbox R400. Now I need to do a parallel test of the TT 800 Boogie Channel against the R400. Any thoughts out there?
  12. First combined outing for my new Bareface 3*10 (no Tweeter) and my Mesa TT800 (with a D800+ as back up). Played two thirds of the gig with my Musicman, with both tones backed off to take away the scoop). When I plugged my Jazz in at gig levels of sound I was blown away by the growl from the combination of the Boogie setting turned up and the neck pick up of the jazz just backed off. It was nothing short of a stunning difference. Nothing in the signal chain, but the cable. Oh and I wore my Guy West pointy rock star boots:
  13. Who's got an Alembic Series 2 then 🤔
  14. Wot about reading rythm? That to me is the hard bit of sight reading
  15. Is a higher number of basses a good or a bad score? I know the E-Type Jag used to win everything with 12 Cylinders, but would an electric Lotus 7 (for instance) trump that today?
  16. Its got Ready Freddy Washington written all over it. Lovely stuff!
  17. It's kind of 'ancient and modern'. Looks fantastic GLWTS
  18. I have seen the vid. Chuck Rainey is one of my bass heroes. I attempted to learn his Steely Dan lines in lock down (along with the Will Lee Walk Between the Raindrops).
  19. I just read the sleeve notes. MM plays on The Nightfly, The Goodbye Look and Maxine. The rest of the album is a roll call of the best: Anthony Jackson, Chuck Rainey, Abe Laboriel, Will Lee. I guess that's what you expect from Donald Fagen (except he mainly uses Ready Freddy Washington live now)
