  1. Moral of the story? Always wear sunglasses when you go to a music shop.
  2. They are wonderfully versatile instruments. I have a fretless which is amazing. The necks are especially brilliant.
  3. I doubt the cabinet would have been much good with that specification of amp/speakers.
  4. Does it have any kind of buffer added to the piezo circuit?
  5. Closest I can find weights for are - the above are 61.8g each and the Schaller 70's type tuners (shorter stem but bigger button) are 102g each. Not very scientific I'm afraid.
  6. I can't tell you to the gram, but much is an appropriate word.
  7. Mesa 1x15 combo, with a valve pre and the D350 power stage. Also add the Walkabout radiator.
  8. Fascinating reading. Thank you for that.
  9. Really need a banana to be able to judge the size of the dog, and hence the mixer.
  10. I have an Antiquity 335 which is very good. Not a Chibson but similar on the price. The Firefly 335 gets great reviews too.
  11. The Haynes Manual for Fender Bass is also good.
  12. Not even if you Caine them! 😄
  13. About 75% originals and without any agent at present.
  14. My band could really do with a decent agent that can access Europe as well as the UK. We do ok but want to get out and about again.
  15. Precision. Flats. Tone control only just on. Valve preamp, gain at 1 o'clock. Slightly more bass than middle and slightly more mid than treble. Pair of 15s. To my ears, a nice big, fat sound with a good deal of heft but good definition.
  16. Although a Precision player, I would suggest MIJ for the consistent and excellent build quality, both of which represent terrific value for money. I have no doubt Jazz basses are just the same.
  17. I went for the TS312s on foh and 310s for monitoring. On larger gigs we add a 312s sub.
  18. Another brilliant evening with the XR18 and Altos. The sound is just so clear, and fine tuning for the room is such a doddle. So glad I made the (modest) investment.
  19. Close to Brooklands. It always looks so evocative, driving past the old banking from the race track. You can practically see an old blower Bentley tearing round there.
  20. No matter the price point. It does seem so odd (to me) that someone would put those two bits together and think it looked ok.
  21. I'm going to say bridge height.
  22. You place it over the bridge of your nose to give the impression a solid piece has embedded itself in you. You will also require tomato sauce.
  23. Yup. The agreed 25 quid seems the easiest - the path of least resistance (as I suggested earlier). Re the OP, the questions was 'would it bother me?' My answer, a resounding yes.
  24. Your ire is such that you missed the point that no reason is necessary, therefore nothing is inadmissible. I'll spare your blood pressure and leave it there.
