  1. Sound of Silence - S&G
  2. Garage Sale - Carl Verheyen
  3. If you still have the receipt, you can contact Gretsch customer services for $100 worth of goodies by way of reparation for misrepresentation. My Sterling’Ray SS weighs 3.4kg. Stick a set of lightweight tuners on one of those and that’ll be very close to 7lbs and under that £1k budget; it’s what I’m doing (more for the better tuners than the weight in my case). The new black/maple/tort version looks great. YMMV.
  4. Good call! Rock and Roll Jelly is another belter.
  5. I had the PSU fall over on my LM2 when I had one and it seemed to be a thing with all LMs at the time.
  6. Those headstock ‘inlays’ are all sorts of dodgy.
  7. Uncle Tom’s Cabin - Warrant
  8. If you want super premium, there’s a Serek up for grabs in the for sale section right now.
  9. Sweet Painted Lady - Reg Dwight
  10. Le Grange - ZZ Top
  11. Dune Tune - Level 42
  12. Just making sure that there was a right hand sided one. I need to go and check the dims on the Hipshot site, these may be the very thing.
  13. I assume that the clover 4+1 set were used on a MusicMan style head.
  14. I was going leap in and promote my Class D, Phil Jones Flightcase (which is marvellous BTW) but live, I use it with a PB300, powered cab for more oomph, which, upon checking, is Class A/B (still super light though). Therefore, I have nothing to add except confusion.
  15. It took me a long while to get past Geddy's high tenor and the '80s albums helped with that, but once you get past it, it suddenly works. Peart's lyrics can be a tad 'shaky' but every one of those there's multiple Red Sector A and Far Cry.
  16. I think that’s what I like about them, they’re an embellishment, not the raison d’être of the song as with a lot of guitar heroes. However, when listening and he fires up the solo, it’s almost always an ‘oh yeah’ moment. Definitely a band that was the 3 of them in symbiosis. I’m not a fan of everything they did, the 80-92 period is my favourite. I’d dearly love for them to release a remixed Clockwork Angels, as I dislike that mushy production.
  17. It looks good, When it’s paired, with that pickup, On a Stingray.
  18. I don’t think Alex gets nearly enough plaudits, especially for his rhythm playing. Geddy and Neil are revered, not so much Mr Lifeson. Plus he’s hysterical.
  19. I am grateful to this thread for helping me dodge a bullet. Despite really wanting to play with others again (I moved 525 miles north in late 2020) and someone mentioning that the bass player in their church had moved away, so they needed a replacement, this thread gave me pause and I’m very thankful for the honesty shared here 🙏. Had I taken up the offer, I don’t think I’d have been able to bite my tongue (unusual for me) and some home truths would have been dealt out.
  20. I Can’t Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
  21. Lithium - Nirvana
  22. Burning Down The House - Talking Heads
  23. The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades - Timbuk 3
