I used to play this in a blues band I was in many years ago. I always liked playing Tommy’s lines, his ability to just sit behind the beat and let Stevie run amok is great and an object lesson in pocket playing. Tommy and Chris Layton are one of my favourite rhythm sections. Check out their playing with Storyville, especially the Piece of Your Soul album.

The 2022 abstinence thread is so far away in your rear view mirror, it’s a tiny speck. 😂 Amazing story, amazing friend. It’s the best colour too. Congrats.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
ezbass replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
I mentioned a while, back that I fitted my usual EB Cobalt flatwounds to my JMJ Mustang. When I acquired my Sterling ‘Ray SS, I immediately fitted the same to that. However, it was a 2nd hand set that weren’t as smooth as I’m used to (some roughness around where the frets of the previous bass were). Therefore, yesterday I fitted the Fender flats that came on the Mustang to the ‘Ray. Weirdly, it seems that Fender flats sound better on an EB instrument, whilst EB flats sound better on a Fender instrument. Who knew (it could just be the pickup type of course)? -

Congrats. I’ve had mine a while now and I’m very pleased with it. -
A white and maple Mullarkey is pretty much top of my GAS list.

I have 4 passive basses and one Sadowsky preamp pedal, it was a lot cheaper than adding a preamp to all of them. The only downside is that adjustments on the fly are harder, but not impossible.

Bloody hell, now there's a Brian May watch!!

I’m disappointed, I thought it was going to be Humble & Packham stalking Mr May. -
I really want to build a Deakey bass...where do I start?

Phew! Well done. -
When adding new posts to threads today, the site seems to be stalling on "saving', requiring a page refresh to see the post. Anyone else having got is issue? I'm using Safari. EDIT: It didn't happen to post this question.

They really are quite the talented couple. DT’s slide playing is always amazing and ST is no slouch either, plus the voice. On the whole, I quite liked the recreation, but I missed the massive drum sound. Should’ve got Jason B to do it.

It wasn’t until I got to number 5 that I realised that the list was bass related and not, er, um. Perhaps I’ll just leave it there.

No, it’s a sincere warning. If you choose to ignore it is on you. It’s too late for some of us . Be afraid, be very afraid.

The J bass certainly.

What are your views on the vinyl s(pl)urge?
ezbass replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
I gave my, fairly large, vinyl collection to a friend (it was just sitting in the loft) some years ago. I don’t miss the crackles, the jumps and skips, the potential for worn out sections or the space required for storage, at all. What I do miss is the package they came in. Big enough to sit it on your lap and read the notes or get lost in the properly sized photos or some of the more complex artwork (Roger Dean, etc). -
Sadly, this seems to be the vast majority of FOH engineers that I’ve come across.

And totally lost in the over the top bass drum.

I used to say (see yell), "I will cut it off!" All with a laugh of course
