  1. Definitely with for me. ‘51 meets 4000, loving it.
  2. Normally, self praise is no recommendation, but you have been quite restrained… so far
  3. Night in My Veins - The Pretenders
  4. Well that’s a totally feasible explanation. I reckon you get a pass
  5. We’re you ‘just browsing’ and tripped and fell on the keyboard, hitting the add to basket and then the confirm buttons? Happens.
  6. I've been silent as I felt sure that signing up for abstinence was a waste of time as I have (or at least had) severe P bass GAS. I was about to pull the trigger on a Player series that was reduced, when it went before I could commit . I'm now in a period of reflection having played my Maruszczyk Elwood L, J type for a fair session (I had to stop as I was getting a tight, plucking hand, forearm - my practice regime has been somewhat remiss of late) and that P bass tone is right there, thanks to the Delano humbucking pickups (basically splits in a narrow housing), plus a variety of blends (well 5 in total to my ears) that the extra pickup supplies. So I'm still purchase free for 2022 (he says on just day 10)! However, I feel GAS will get the better of me and I'll see an offer I can't resist. But for now, I'm still in 😬.
  7. Jacob’s Ladder - Rush
  8. That makes sense. Trav to the rescue, again 👏👏👏.
  9. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Green Day
  10. Unless it’s a Maruszczyk (that was an interesting learning curve, pun unintended 😆), or a two way rod. The Vintera will be single action, right tight, left loose though. I played a Vintera at the guitar and bass show in London, pre Covid and really liked the V profile of the ‘50s basses and guitars.
  11. It looks like fibre glass trying to escape .
  12. Yep, saw that on FB and thought the same thing.
  13. Schexxy! Way to fall off the wagon. 👍
  14. Doctor My Eyes - Jackson Browne
  15. I concur with this statement, none more basic yet effective.
  16. I started on TB but found my bass forum home here. Come on in, the water’s warm.
  17. Rothman’s or possibly Benson & Hedge’s.
  18. Plenty of information to be had here on BC and not just about playing bass, the membership has a very diverse and wide range of experience.
  19. Must bang ãss 😱
  20. Protection Racket make a great bass bag.
  21. Yep, PJ fanboy here. I run a Flightcase into a PB300 (when I need the extra power). I’ve also owned a Cub and a Bass Buddy. Quality gear, perfect for gigs or home practise and 5 strings are handled with ease.
  22. That control cover looks pukka!
  23. Given that you’re in Croydon, head over to Guitar Guitar in Epsom, it used to be my nearest outlet and I always found the staff helpful and not pushy. I was always also impressed by the way The Gallery just let you do your thing too.
  24. I had to learn a whole stack of songs for a black tie, jazz gig a few years back. I’m not a jazz player, but I’ve played in a few blues outfits where I’ve used walking bass lines. When learning the set, I desperately tried to show horn walking lines into everything, only to find that a good proportion of the originals just had a nicely swinging root/V bass line. Once I became away of this, things became easier. Walk where appropriate (underpinning solos is a good place to break them out) but don’t overlook a simpler line that swings, remember that a lot of the original lines would have been played on a double bass and walking everything on a DB is exhausting, so those guys may well have kept it simple, just to be able to do the gig.
