Five bass guitars, with a total of 26 strings.

Looking at the seller's completed items, it seems that everyone has been put off.
With bogus Ritter decal on the headstock. Hmmm.
Agreed. That's dodgy. IMHO, that makes it a fake, not a copy.

Jen and the Gents - Right Now EP
Annoying Twit replied to Beer of the Bass's topic in Share Your Music
There's something endearingly unpretentious about your music. I mean that in a good way. It isn't all glossy, but that seems to suit who you are and what you're doing. -
I listened. One track soulful, one track more funky. I enjoyed the tracks, and they are very well arranged, performed, and produced.

Always good to see a happy bass player.

There's no photo of you on Wikipedia There's a photo of everyone else. Unless you're the woman with the odd eye makeup.

Composition Challenge - TIME TO VOTE!
Annoying Twit replied to Skol303's topic in General Discussion
I have voted. I leave it a bit to announce it as once I was the first person to vote and realised that anyone who could be arsed to have a look would know whom I voted for -
So the drummer & guitarist hate you, surely that's exactly how a Police tribute band should end?
Only if the OP has made a fortune for getting the financial rewards for a rap artist sampling one of their songs where the sampled hook is something composed by the guitarist.

P-Bass copy, £15, Manchester
Annoying Twit replied to Annoying Twit's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Gone! -
No reply from Sheehan's email. Surprising as I thought they were good at answering emails. Their website shows only one kazoo, a plastic one for £1.20. I bought one from Intasound in Narborough road after SWMBO sent me out for shopping at Tescos. Only a standard plastic one, but I want to look into getting something upmarket. EDIT: Sheehans answered, but they don't have anything special.

P-Bass copy, £15, Manchester

Ah, I saw one of those in a local cash converters. The one I saw was in very poor condition. -
Has anyone tried this? http://jamorigin.com...ts/midi-guitar/ I have the original Sonuus G2M (the original guitar one, and not the latest model). I don't play cleanly enough for it to be usable live. Edit: I tried the MIDI Guitar software (I downloaded the Mac OSX trial). It's certainly very interesting used with guitar (mine are tuned to all fourths so could be seen as mini basses ). I also played it with the higher notes on my seven string. It seems to track from the D string upwards, or thereabouts. The software doesn't have tuning presets for bass, only guitar. I think I'd need to experiment with input level a bit, but the software seems very promising for monophonic lines. You can use the guitar to MIDI converter to drive VSTs on your computer if you get the software to scan for them. IMHO everyone here with guitars or extended range basses should have a go with this software. It's certainly interesting, but like a lot of things, it's a new instrument and it will be necessary (for me anyhow) to learn how to play the instrument.

Any skint Mancunians in the house? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-guitar-/251659473112?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3a9812d0d8 It's a bass, it's £15. I can't read the brand, but that headstock looks familiar somehow.

Remind me, did we all agree on the best bass pre-amp pedal?
Annoying Twit replied to visog's topic in Effects
I'm very tempted to buy one of those valve preamps that TheGreek bought. TheGreek - have you received yours yet? And if so, what do you think? -
Sorry, I didn't notice that this thread was still running. Still don't have a kazoo, I might as well pick a cheap one up today. I had a look at buying a 'french horn kazoo' from www.kazoos.com, but shipping would have been US$45.90, which is a bit much. I've just had the thought that Sheehans in Leicester might have something interesting, I'll email them.

I very much like the idea of picking up one of the US made Peaveys one day. But, I'd also like a MIJ Bass Collection. For historical reasons I would like to have an approximately 1979-1980 Ibanez Artist bass. I still don't have a fretless, (although my Shine six string is now superfluous and would hardly be worth selling - there is something possible there). I would like a Tanglewood Traveller bass, and one of those Mexican big acoustic basses. I hope that at some point Thomann will release a bargain 9 string bass (I think that's the most strings I'd ever want). I wouldn't mind an upright bass, although that would be for after I've had a fretless and adapted to it. I'd like a guitar style MIDI controller, and some Arturia classic synth software such as the Moog System III simulation. I'd also like ... you can see where this is going. (BTW: Please anyone don't send me PMs offering to sell me any of these. At the moment I have no buying budget post 7-string bass purchase)

Cheapo crappy strings - anyone found some good one's??????
Annoying Twit replied to Shonks's topic in Accessories and Misc
The Galli range of strings are compared in this video. Though, I think I prefer the sound of the basic strings rather than any of the coated/nylon/flatwound strings. https://www.youtube....h?v=nYAR5YM-zMU BTW: What's that bass being played @ 4mins in? EDIT: I looked up the prices, and they don't seem extra-cheap. -
I tried that site but they didn't have .175 "/ Maybe socks would be a good idea? Haha... Thanks for the suggestions
They have 0.174. If your partner is so fussy that he wants 0.175 but won't accept 0.174, then I'd recommend that you leave him at home on his birthday and have a girls night out.

Harley Benton 'Kahuna' Basses (Kala U-Bass ripoff)
Annoying Twit replied to dannybuoy's topic in Bass Guitars
When these first came out, I noticed that the early reviews were quite mixed. This thread seems to be backing up that early impression. -
Which seller would it be? Circle-K strings don't have a UK/European agent, so it seems a strange way to spam. I sort of thought it might be a forumite having a joke.
-
ALL YOUR PEAVEYS ARE BELONG TO US!
-
That's an extremely specific birthday present request. I had to google to find that Circle K strings are now renamed Kalium strings. If your partner is specialised enough to be buying those sort of strings, then I personally think it would be better if he bought them so that he can carefully examine the string specs and perhaps talk to the seller. You can buy strings direct from Circle K in the states, but there will be large postage charges. Unless things have changed, much more than you would expect for strings. If you go to their site, you'll see that there's much more to choose from apart from the gauge of the very lowest string. If I were you, I'd be tempted to buy him some socks and underwear and tell him to buy his own strings.
