Nice is the Foundation a lefty?
If you look at the wall, the writing in the frame is reversed. Is this an 80s Foundation, the one that has the same neck as a T40? EDIT: Lots of Foundation talk here: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/peavey-foundation.68873/

Very cheap Letts bass on eBay?
Annoying Twit replied to mattyb's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
As said above the 6 string is mine. I have priced it at what I think is fair as I think it would really benefit from a preamp being added. Also I got it in the original bass offer so I don't feel comfortable asking more. It is a niche product for sure so we will see. I hope it sells as it's a good bass and I need to buy more bass stuff .
It certainly looks to me to be a very nice piece of kit for a very good starting price. As a niche product, so there is perhaps the age old problem of whether there are some buyers of that niche in buying mode at the right time. But there's an opportunity for a southpaw there, I can't imagine a similar rightie bass being available at that price. If it could benefit from active electronics, then couldn't this be done by using one of the powered DI boxes out there? Given the status of this bass, probably something upmarket from the Behringer BDI21 would be fitting. Do you have videos of you using the bass? -
Think this guy needs to check the price !!!

Sometimes in these cases I send an email in all innocence asking if this is the same model as (gives Thomann link) or a different one. I never get an answer. Except from that strange person selling Harley Benton basses on ebay without showing the headstocks, where I received a stream of consciousness reply that didn't mean anything. -
That's BCer DreadBass' sale. Seems there has been little interest. To be fair, left handed, six strings and fretless is pretty niche :-D
I wonder how much Jon Letts would charge to cut a piece out of the lobe and transfer it to the other side so that it becomes a righty. -
If they only bought it four days couldn't they return it for something the want? John
If they bought it online, and if they are aware of their consumer rights, then yes they could. I suspect that they may not know their consumer rights.

Be interesting to see how much this one goes for. This looks a very seriously nice bit of kit to my eyes. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item46287179aa -
Yet another debranded Harley Benton being sold for more than the new price. About twice the new price for this one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Six-String-Black-6-string-Active-bass-guitar-Sold-By-UK-Session-player-/201178396204?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2ed72ab62c

I'm working on something. .... EDIT: This is 100bpm, and has a very different feel. I've tried to give tom fills a go here, but I never seem to get them sounding proper - too mechanical. There is a fair gap at the start as I want to leave space for even more of an intro if necessary. https://soundcloud.com/annoyingtwit/we-play-bass-mark-2

I was thinking that it was a bit too ... I don't know the terminology, trippy for this track. I might have a go at doing something slower and heavier, and use the above drum beat for something else. I quite like adding all sorts of weird stuff to programmed drums. Just reproducing what a human drummer would do is always second best. The above is my second attempt. The first attempt was too boring. I'll listen to some slower tempo tracks in the hope of inspiration.
-
I had a chance today to work on a first attempt at a beat. This is 120bpm, because that's what Hydrogen defaults to. And when I tried other tempos, it was all kind of wrong. https://soundcloud.com/annoyingtwit/we-play-bass-guide The refrain "We play the bass" could be preceded by a different setup line each time. E.g. Our gear fills up our living space We play the bass In any band, we are the ace We play the bass I was hoping for at least one or two more people. Surely someone up in bass land is up for this. No? Would easily be doable as a duo though.

My idea of a 'concept album' was that I would try and find a whole lot of different groups/people for one track each. So, this collaboration as per this thread is to create only one track, not a whole album. This track would be about poking fun at bass players. If we can get a few people together, then I'm thinking that my verse would be about someone who buys basses with more and more strings until the instrument is so heavy they can't pick it up off the floor or something. If there's a non-verse refrain for it, I would be thinking something as obvious as "We're ace, we play the bass" or something. Hopefully something better than that can be thought up. I haven't got a backing track yet, nor have I decided on tempo or key. The first step was to see if there is a quorum of people interested. Then work can commence.

I've got a long history of not really getting very far with writing and recording music. But one thing I did way back when I was a foreign student was record a comedy rap album as a duo with a friend. Looking back, it's extremely unprofessional, but was a lot of fun. My friend is too busy being an airline pilot halfway around the world to do more recordings. I'm thinking whether it would be possible to do a concept album in the style of the previous one, but with a different collaborator for each track. Each track taking the utter p*ss out of a different topic. Rules would be: no professional rappers - anyone prepared to speak vaguely in time with music would be fine. There must be a minimum percentage of absolutely corny rhymes in any lyrics. And that would be it. I'd want to program rhythms and synths, and play most of the bass, apart from solos. (Though, if there was a response to this - so far all my attempts have resulted in tumbleweeds) then a fun thing to do for a breakdown would be to have 20 people all slapping at once culminating in a screamed 'STOP IT!!!'. All I would need is for collaborators to write their own verse and send me a digital file of it. Plus anything extra (e.g. if it's possible to collect 20 different recordings of slapping - I'd need those). The inspiration in the first place was the then recently released De La Soul album 'Three Feet High and Rising'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRIqxSbh41I&list=PLSQUMAtzJMUNijKNBCzWX_dQgayfqJ576 While I hesitate to post this, being as it's ... what it is, here's an example of what we did way back when: https://soundcloud.com/annoyingtwit/bugbusters This is from a cassette copy I recently managed to find as I accidentally stood on the DAT original (yes, this &£$% was digitally recorded ) some years ago. Anybody? Or is it tumbleweed city again?
Didn't some of the Shergold basses / guitars have this feature? The Modulator i think...
(Googles) Yes, they do. http://www.shergold.co.uk/modules.html

The drowning in guitars youtube poster seems to be able to get good sounds out of his Soviet guitars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7mM2j-jM7k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN-zsb0lyHE&list=UUzLRpB_ThIJ39wmgfBozASQ I think it would be interesting if there was a guitar (or preferably bass) which had passive pickups and a modular removable block for electronics. You could remove the electronics (including knobs) and swap them for something else. Then there could be a variety of electronics blocks that you could attach to give you entirely different sounds and control setups for different types of music.
This has been on eBay for about 5 months I think and I wonder why? http://rover.ebay.co...&mtid=824&kw=lg
Because the seller has not listed it with a starting price beneath what people are prepared to pay for it. It is not collection only, and has a reasonable P&P cost. Any bass posted on ebay will be seen by large numbers of potential purchasers up and down the country. Hence if it's not sold yet, that's a pretty strong indication that it's too expensive. I would guess that the seller is taking advantage of free listings, meaning that they aren't paying anything to list it, and they aren't concerned if it sells or not.
Er... the volume switch is clearly and visibly to the right of the Treble knob. Glad to be of help!
Yes, I suppose that the on-off switch is an all or nothing volume. But, I do like the idea of an amp being able to produce a driven sound at different volumes

Peavey T-40 starting at £0.99 ...

Demonstrably a reasonable reserve. Not all of them are. -
just picked this up this evening. it had a broken socket (repaired) and it's missing the backboard (to be fixed this weekend)... and it's actually pretty good. no great huge bass, but fine for noodling and acoustic jam sessions - which is why i blew the savings on it it may even fit in my backpack
There's one of these for sale out my way. I'd like it as a practice amp, but am a bit concerned about it apparently only having a gain control, no volume. Starting price is a massive £9.99 though. Fitting in a backpack would be of interest to me as it's collection only and I don't have a car. If if fits in a backpack, I could pick it up on my bicycle Must admit that I'd prefer saving for a bass microcube though.
