  1. Looks like copper to me - seems to be a bit of green on the top left edge. It would certainly make a good fixer-upper if the neck is sound!
  2. The angled sides make me think of Bugera though. It would, er, sound better if it was flat fronted.
  3. Holy cow - that's atrocious! That's how I expected my Thomann deko to look (but it didn't!). That was sold as new?!?!
  4. What a fantastic learning tool - it hums the tune to you when you forget!!!
  5. I read the thread title as “feathers” earlier, and “Fenders” this evening. 1. Zero fret 2. ultralight tuners 3. rolled edge fretboards 4. the ability to balance (two strap buttons on symmetrical body or one offset on a non-symmetrical boy like wot Tobias used to do) whilst still being plugged in.
  6. Two One10’s will sound awesome. I just started using both all the time (two Marshall 4x12’s to contend with) hence my want of a Two10. Heck, if I’m flush I might just get a Four10 and be damned with the roof!
  7. I had 2 x One10’s before but had to sell them when I was skint. The cabs were great, and the customer service was top notch. Looking forward to getting another!
  8. After straining my back again last night loading in, I really want to get the Two10 ASAP! Will start saving...
  9. Just about to go on with my two latest basses (P-bass bitsa and Hohner Jack) and my freshly refurbished Bayma-loaded Peavey cab...
  10. I’m thinking I have enough now, maybe even one too many for now. I’ll never be shot of the JV. It’s perfect! The black bitsa needs some tweaks but I feel will be a great player once the nut is done. My new headless is so comfortable to play, and is conveniently small and light! Th lovely blue HB originally done by @yorks5stringer is possibly going to be on the bench a bit more these days. Hmm. Could put a Stingray pickup in and make it a bit uniquerer?
  11. G’day, mate. I’m Welsh.
  12. Distance selling rules - just go for it and send it back if you don’t like it. Hell, for that price I’m considering it an I don’t even need a new amp!
  13. Nut width 38mm, but the strings are a mere 29mm centre to centre! The bridge spacing is cosy too.
  14. #metoo
  15. No likey words. Need see piccies.
  16. Dammit - I tugged on it thinking it was a spacer or something. I guess it shouldn’t come out then?
  17. Bought a Hohner Jack from Mike I’d been wanting for some time. Mike is an absolutely lovely bloke, and has been very patient and accommodating in my prolonged enquiry, to eventual purchase and then collection of said-instrument! Thank you Mike!
  18. Only thing that’s puzzling me though is what is going on in the battery compartment? Any ideas?
  19. Just got in from meeting @scrumpymike to pick up this fantastic beast! I first saw it in the classifieds here, then shortly after played it at the SW Bass Bash. I wanted it. Fast forward a few months and here we be! I will have to get used to the narrower string spacing (ironic as I posted about not liking narrow necks earlier in the week) and the lack of head, but my playing feels more fluid already. Looking forward to gigging it Friday!
  20. I know it’d be daft to do it, but it looks like there’s blank space in the outer wooden shell on either side - you could make the box narrower and it wouldn’t overhang as much on the cab!
  21. There’s barely space for me at some places I play, never mind a table!
  22. Damn that’s nice. If I hadn’t have already committed to another bass recently I’d be all over that!
  23. Just to say, I was the owner previous to Mr Yorks5stringer (who is a gentleman, btw), and I had it from my uncle (original purchaser) in around 95/96 when he emigrated to the US. Lovely bass, I just get on with wider necks better. Missing that colour though!!!
  24. I like wide and shallow. Narrow gives me hand cramps. I have daddy long legs hands though.
  25. Just realized I’ve subconsciously constructed a cheap version of one of the fantasy Maruszczyk I spec’d on their website!
