1.
Well, I was thinking about this one and all the big names I could put down, but the first person I thought of that I'd like to work with is Craig Blundell. An awesome UK session drummer / Roland endorsee who plays with the awesome band Frost*! I met him via a Roland clinic as ma friend & fellow band mate Thomas is also a Roland endorser.
Hey Dood..... I play with Craig Quite a bit.... He is totally awesome and a very nice guy too but keeps you on your toes to say the least. I've met your man Thomas several times, he's a real nice guy also and might I add... a touch of the Mad Genius about him.
  2. I take it that it has been registered?
  3. I saw this earlier..... Strangely this is made by the same people that Make KV2 Loudspeaker systems..... I've played plenty of festival with this stuff and it's proper. Be interesting to see what this bass range is all about..... seems a bit odd to me.
  4.
i never wear jeans, as it happens
Must be in one of those 'Jazz' bands....

  8.
please do! what is appro?
Approval from the manufacturer
  9.
anyone tried the MB fusion?
Got one on appro coming next week.... will let you know
  10. They seem fairly reliable.... over 60 gigs last year with mine.... not including rehearsals, studio sessions and other stuff.... no issues at all
  11. Might be overkill but have a look at the TC Voicelive touch.... I've just purchased two and they are absolutely fantastic. Very easy to programme and offer everything you pretty much need as a vocalist and also ideal for recording
  12. I have the MB2 500 and it's fantastic. When I was in the process of purchasing I was comparing (in the store) against Markbass, Genz and teh GK had a more rounded full sound that I was looking for. I'm running with 2 x Aguilar DB112 cabs
  13. I ha this exact setup (sold it toa bc member) after that went to a GK MB500 head with Aguilar DB112 cabs....
  14. I'd recommend not buying these.... they're made by a company called Pasgao in china and the quality is rubbish. They are also badged up in the UK under the LD Systems brand.... I would say avoid and look at something better such as the Cheap Audio Technica, Trantec or JTS which all work much better. Unless you can afford to go down the Sennheiser route of course.

    Free DAWs

I still think Audacity is great for a free programme
  16. Ooooooooooooo yeah..... this went ages ago.... Sorry!
  17.
Jeff Berlin once said he doesn't bother with fretless because everyone just ends up sounding like Jaco. For me though, Pino's playing is unbeatable and original.
What you're forgetting is that Jeff Berlin is a Cock!
  18.
Yeah a drum loop would be more natural, but I don't have a DAW, and I can use the metonome anywhere in the house (livingroom).
I've got loops loaded into my iPod too.... For portability
  19. I use loops in Logic, more pleasing to the ear and I think make you play more naturally
  20. OOOOOHHHH Tough call between him and Giblin in my book..... both outstanding!
Easy - that'd be Eberhard Weber on Kate Bush's Mother Stands For Comfort: Not sure if he's playing fretless bass guitar or an upright on this, but gorgeous playing all the same. Jon.
21. Jesus H Corbet!!
I like the videos below, they show off that amazing Kubicki slap sound. Perhaps the best one I heard was a cover of a guy playing 'Heathrow' by Level 42 on a Kubicki Ex Factor, it sounded incredible. The video doesn't appear to be on youtube anymore though!
22. I think John Giblin's work on Kate Bush Ariel album is very good.... also his work on the simple minds live album 'Live in the city of lights' is fantastic
  23. Or you could get the keyboards to play it ;o) Hotsauce Live - Demo
  24. What was Midge thinking when he put that outfit on........... ??????
I know that a Jaydee can be as versatile as any other bass when you start tweaking knobs and fiddling with your amp. But in essence, why should you? So a Jaydee sounds like a Jaydee? Why make it sound like a Jazz or P bass? You can still play all the same songs, just you'll get that lovely Jaydee tone coming through. Listen to how the Jaydee tone fits into this song perfectly and sounds incredible. I think there is too much focus on basses being versatile rather than just sounding excellent off the bat, which Jaydee basses certainly do. If you want something that sounds middle of the road, buy something middle of the road!
