  1. I feel we might be related.
  2. Regrets........I have a few.........but then again.....too many to mention............ By now I am much more canny with purchases and just do not buy new. EVERYTHING comes along it you wait for it.
  3. Mrs owen? Is that you? The speed I will be going at means that getting my hands on my DIY bass will take a LONG time. I actually need to learn how to woodwork first.
  4. It's no good. I cannot stop myself. I have dropped you a PM. The rest of you can guess what I want.
  5. I'm glad that went to a good home. I spent some time considering it.
  6. It's getting real.
  7. I like cheese as much as I like cake and bass so it could be a good combination. But I will not use it to learn with. Whitewood = 6x4 joists?
  8. Thanks, it is lovely. The bass itself is a 73 neck and body from here, with 2nd hand parts from on here picked up as and when they appeared. The scratchplate is a Spitfire one. It hurt when I paid, but a thing of beauty is a joy forever The case is now sold.
  9. Pictures of the outside would be such an obvious thing to do. I spent so much time working out why the format my phone takes picture in were not loading that I was just happy to get any of them up.
  10. My wife has just treated me to Record spokeshave. She is greatful because apparently I am tricky to get presents for. I am now going to buy a piece of Alder to practice on. And someone has suggested Lime as easy to work for a rank amateur like myself. So I will get some of that as well. Good times.
  11. Retro169 on Facebook has done some lovely work for me.
  12. It is not a Pelican case, it is an Explorer case. Equally as good.
  13. This came with my Reverend Brad Houser bass which I bought back in the day when the £/$ was not tragic. The Brad Houser is long gone but the case has been in the basement for years. It has been reliced by a mouse but is absolutely structurally sound. As an aside we put traps down and warned the children not to go close to them because they could hurt. "What are they for?" my 6 year old daughter asked. "To get rid of the mouse which is eating my kit" I answered. She started crying and asked "but what about their families?". Anyway - it is a tight fit for a P but it fits. if I was going to to use it in anger on a regular basis I would slice a small part of the storage compartment cover off. But I am never going to use it. I will wrap it in bubble wrap and you can arrange any courier you want

Full Phat! Full Phat! Full Phat! Full Phat! Full Phat! Full Phat! Full Phat!
  15. Perfect nick? Nope. Structurally sound? Completely. I was saving it for the right occasion when I needed to carry my 70's P in a groovy way. This is never EVER going to happen. Ever. I am 87.9% convinced that it is a 70's case but am open to correction by the Fender grown ups (I am not saying that in an aggressive way). The wedge bit is all there but needs re-gluing. Obv the sale does not include the bass. I will wrap it in bubble wrap and you are free to use whatever courier you want to organise
  16. https://www.axminster.co.uk/veritas-flat-spokeshave-pm-v11-105211 It looks very lovely indeed, and my friend who is a joiner who is staying for the weekend mentioned Veritas kit last night. He was in Axminster tools last week and says it is a lovely, lovely place.
  17. Strange times. I am really struggling to attach pics here. Bear with me. Edit - my phone is saving picture in heic format which not board friendly. I am busy converting them now. 20190927_080528.heic 20190927_080549.heic 20190927_080603.heic 20190927_080741.heic 20190927_080759.heic 20190927_081046.heic
  18. Hi Nick, I am in Bangor, North Wales. Which I guess you are not. But I can post Owen
  19. It is my birthday next week and my wife is going to buy me a spokeshave. She does not know this yet. What should I get?
  20. Sorry, I am trying to add pics but my phone and the site are not locking in the groove at the moment.
  21. I have owned this for years. I cannot remember how long. It has piezo and mag pickups. It has an Undercover gig bag and a Pelican hard case on wheels. It is very lovely, but I have not played it in anger for literally years. I now have a very small DB with Uke strings on it so my DB without DB size needs are covered. Can I keep everything for ever? No. It is time to rationalise. There is a small dent on the neck that United Airlines managed to make. Uncool. There is also the Gollihur pretend D stop addition so that shifting up is not a dive into the abyss. I now have to go and hoover before friends come tomorrow. Getting it out and taking pics now would be frowned upon by the rest of the cleaning team (and rightly so). It is strung with Innovation Honeys. The hard case is airline safe so couriering it should be fine. We can split the shipping cost 50/50.
