1.
Boss TU-2s have another DC jack for supplying power to other pedals, as does the Korg pitchblack.
The Korg DT-10 can power other pedals too, it comes with a daisy chain lead. My old Sabine tuner had an extra DC jack too and a little lead, i used to power my Hartke VXL off it for a nice neat mini-board
2. Either way he is sellig a counterfeit item, whether he knows it or not. Surely that must contravene some eBay rules?
3. The seller seems to have covered his back pretty well in the listing, the only thing he gives is the serial number and he even says it cost him £300 If i were you and i didn't want the bass (it sounds like you are unsure) then i'd bite the bullet and buy it, then if it isn't the bass the serial number makes it out to be file a "significantly not as described" claim on eBay. Then if he doesn't refund open a case in Paypal and then escalate it to a claim. I think you have 40 days to do this? You have to cover postage as well Even though the seller states no returns Paypal will still refund you if you have been ripped off. Thing is, does mentioning the serial count as specifying what model/year the bass is? Might be a sticking point if you do buy and return it Might also be worth getting in touch with Fender to notify them of a fake serial being sold on eBay, might add a bit of weight to a Paypal claim? Good luck with this one mate EDIT: Oh and message eBay now about your doubts (if you haven't done so already), again this might add a bit of weight to the claim and they would be less likely to side with the seller
4. A fishing rod holdall would also make a good EUB gigbag, fishing shops often have a few 2nd hand ones in around the £30 mark Check out the Preston Innovatons ranges, particularly the Hardcase ones as these are semi-hard style bags You can get them up to around 2m long too
5.
Yeah I spotted that earlier, trouble is its the start of a slippy slope. £400 for an EUB to see if I take to it slowly becomes £750 for a db which then grows to £1k after new strings and proper set up ! Only to find I cant hack it.... At the moment a quick trip to Manc land for a Stagg is probably favourite.
Whereabouts are you? I'm near Blackpool and you're welcome to have a play on my Stagg EUB to see if you like it A lot of people dismiss the Staggs but i love mine, it can do quite a good db impression It also has a line-in and headphone out so i can play along to tunes on my phone in total silence which is really handy
6. They've been going for nearer £400 recently. In the past year or so i've watched Corvettes go from under £300 to over £600 (for a 5 string Active Standard!). I'd happily bid up to £400 on this if i was in the market You can still buy these new for around £600, although if anyone wants one now is a good time to buy 2nd hand as Warwick are shifting production of these overseas.
7. Aye, the LMII was an incredibly popular head and sold bucketloads, combine that with the constant longing for bass gear that most of us have and it's not surprising that there's quite a few floating about in the FS section. I would say that for every person who sells one there are many more happy users who gig with their's week in week out and have no desire for anything "better" I love mine, it's going nowhere!
8. First gigging rig was a Gibson RD Artist '77 in maple through a Trace Elliot Commando 15, didn't really cut the mustard for what i wanted so i got rid. Now i'm using a Zoot (somteimes a Warwick) and Markbass LMII with a Schroeder 1212r
9. It says "custom made" on the headstock, that's where he got the whole custom bit from! I think it looks quite nice, lose what's left of the scratchplate and it'd be a cool bass
10. I'll take the neckplate if that's ok
11. Great basses these, i love mine!
12. I assume so, the Mighty Mite on my fretless was originally on a MIM Precision. The body of the fretless is off a Hohner and it doesn't look like it's been widened. I also like the pickups on the Aria, i raise the bridge unit up high on the treble side and the harmonics are really loud.
13. Sounded like a genuinely nice guy which makes it all the more upsetting, RIP Jimmy and condolances to his friends and family Steve
14. If i had my fretless here i could check for ya as i have a mighty mite neck on that and an Aria STB Jazz here, unfortunately it's at my tech's house being upgraded at the moment. If i get it back soon i'll let ya know! I replaced the pickguard recently with a generic one and only needed to do a little filing if that's any help They're really nice basses IMO, i love the neck on mine!
15. Mostly on songs which i've played in a few different keys from depping with different bands, Hush and Sweet Child O Mine are ones that i get confused on. I'll never forget the time i was depping for a band that played the latter in C, after the intro i came in a whole tone sharp in front of all my mates who pi$$ed themselves for the rest of the song, waiting for me to cock up again For years i got the blame for mucking up the post-chorus break on Are You Gona Go My Way, one day our drummer came up to me and said he'd listened to the CD the previous night and realised it was his fault all along
16. Around £100 now i think, i got mine for under £80 when they came out. I found it a bit flimsy but sounded great. Looks much better built than it actually is though
17. Again not too sure, they're probably about a year old and are most likely Maplins/CPC standard jobs, i couldn't find a brand on them when i last checked. They're black and are standard par can style
18. I quite like that, very pretty. I had the 6 string version with the dark cherry flame and that was nice, very well built too
19. Having had a quick look on t'net i don't think it is, i don't remember it coming with any software at all although there's a chance our old guitarist may have snaffled that if it did
20. Have to say i don't know! Is there a different model number?
21. Yeah it's cool, i'll need to get in there to test everything out before selling it anyways so taking pics of everything whilst i'm there makes sense. I'll have a chat to em soon
22. This is the only site i could find: http://www.sound-light-company.co.uk/electro-voice-m-68.html They're older but quite small, we've had our band through them for years. Not the deepest subs but handle bass and kick well, we could never be bothered with larger bins. They are in quite good nick for the age, carpet and grille are still pretty good although the metal corners are rusted and i think one or two may need fixing back on/replacing. I'll try to get in the storage room to get pics next week
23. I think Phaedrus was looking for something cab-wise, give him a shout?
24. Could post but it might end up being quite expensive! Packing the QSC and desk together and sending it with Interparcel/Parcelbee might be the way to go on that one I'll try to get pics but it might be a while as they're in storage and our drummer has the key I'll have a chat to the guys about any discounts as it's between the 3 of us
25. My covers band are calling it a day so the PA is for sale 2 x QSC RMX2450 amps - £370 each 1 x Harison 600w amp, used for monitors - not decided yet! Thinking around £100? Have to ask the guys 2 x Yamaha 600w tops, 1x12 with horn i think so quite compact. Not sure of the model but will check - £300 pair 2 x EV GSS 15XR 400w bass bins, again nice and compact - £200 pair 1 x Yamaha MG206C desk, bought new last year and been racked all it's life - £220 1 x Large dirty rack with removable top for desk, well gigged. Wheels on base may need replacing but there's wheels on the back for easy transportation - £100 2 x Large LED lights - £38 each 1 x Small LED light - £28 Also: Skytec smoke machine - £15 (£30 new) Speaker stands, well gigged - £20 pair (around half new price) Assorted leads, some good some not so good.
