I'll actually stick up for mine now as since i took it out of the casing it's had loads of use and zero problems. I'm not gigging it but for a cheap practice head it does the job, it was £199 years ago so it's earnt it's keep I wouldn't use it as backup or take it to any situation where i would be depending on it working without error though, it used to be a horrible amp to use. Mine cut out regularly and went back a few times because of a dodgy channel - it arrived with only one side working! Like i said it's been absolutely fine since i took the casing off so i put the problems down to overheating issues, for now at least

Generally Hartke have a great reputation for reliability. A local shop near me changed from Ashdown to Hartke because of all the returns he was getting and is still stocking them to this day. It's not everyone's cup of tea so will take longer to sell i'd expect, also it would help if you described it a bit clearer in your sig (it looks like your selling a group of consonants instead of a bass!), maybe made the text bigger/different colour? That way everyone would notice it when you post. Could also put a link in there Some basses will go in a day, some will take an age (like my old Warmoth)

It's not like you were using an underpowered 20 year old carlsbro combo with a flatulent speaker! Those Hartke heads are great, i used Hartke stuff for ages and only really got rid because i wanted something smaller and lighter. Gigs and practice rooms with stairs are the deciding factor i'm afraid. The VX series offer serious bang for buck too, i had the 1508 and the 215 - both shifted a lot of bass and were dirt cheap. I stayed with the brand and bought a full stack and still own an A70 combo today You know you've got it good when a decent half stack is budget gear!

Does anybody else think the listing is a little dubious? The seller has no feedback and the pictures are the same as the other listing, maybe just a lazy seller as it seems to have stayed in Norfolk

Have you checked the mains fuse? It's underneath the kettle lead socket

I agree with Bilbo, any decent set up will do the job. A simple passive Fender style bass will be reliable and cover most of what you need I'd advise against getting a Status unless you're over 46 and don't need to appear attractive to women

Looks like a nice bass and could be a potential bargain. I'm always a bit suspicious when there's no close-up of the de-fret though, could be horrible. The seller says it's a "reasonable" standard

No hard and fast rules, experimentation is usually the best way to go. I often found i preferred to position things differently than the recommended way If it were me i'd go tuner>wah then experiment with the last two. Which do you use simultaneously?

That was one of the Professional series right? If so then it should be a quality cab, seem to remember them being huge as well!
