  1. Howdy Do you perchance still have the PJB Briefcase? I was thinking about getting one. How much? Jules
  2. oh I took a pic of the Kramer, but can't seem to upload. Does it have to go to an external site? Flickr/photobucket etc? Got a gig to go to- I'll try again later. The Kramer is a Stagemaster stansard in (now very off-)white. Has had Reflex Red-Dot pickups added by previous owner (a mate) which are a drastic improvement over the originals. I've had it for 20 odd years.
  3. Hi I have a Stagg EDB-3/4 that I picked up to play a gig on Tresco (Scilly Isles) as we were going by helicopter and my proper bass wouldn't fit. It was great- did the job. I felt a bit silly with a teeny stick, and it could have done with decent strings, but hey, not half bad! I recently had a go on an Aria SWB, and couldn't tell the difference. It seemed to be the same instrument. Apart from the extra coil pickups and...price tag- the Aria is three times the money!!! Anyone have any experience or opinions? Am I missing something? I was going to offer the Stagg for sale, but maybe not now! BTW got another gig on Tresco, but this time we're taking the boat and the proper bass!
  4. Hi guys, thanks for the messages. Dom, I'm just to the east of Taunton. Am in Wellington quite a lot- my main band is based there (Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys). I'll post a pic of the Kramer as soon as I've taken it. Cheers!

  6. Hi Just joined up- based (sic) in Somerset, play mainly double bass these days. Been bassing for nearly 25 years (eek)- on a Kramer ali-neck for most of that time, but the double bass has brought a new lease of life, and a range of music closer to my heart, ie acoustic. My old man was a double bassist too, though he played classical- I'm more about folk (but with a smidgeon of metal thrown in to confuse the issue.) Bluegrass is the main thing these days- a constant challenge to keep it interesting and not just root'n'5. Sometimes the rest of the band tell me to stop being so 'weird' (ie interesting ) Oh- recently built teachest-style bass out of half an old copper hot water tank! Gear.... Double/doghouse/uprights- Romainian ply bass Chinese solid Old English in repair. Guitars- Kramer ali-neck Ricky 4003 black (mmm) Freshman acoustic a couple of randoms LX- Fishman pre-amp GK microbass All sorts of other bits in the collection from years of junk accretion, same as all of you I expect! Cheers! Jules
  7. Hey Tom I'd be interested in your pickup- I'll PM you my details Cheers Jules
