1. The Corvette looks very nice If you were after the Streamer variant it's worth looking for the Warwick Streamer Standard bolt-on, they go for around £200 and are German made. Same electrics and brodge as the Rockbass but with the Ovangkol neck and Wenge fingerboard. Here's one: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=64828 One recently sold on here for less than £200 and there was one on eBay for just over that amount
2.
As I said it turned out quite a nice bass (eventually) but not worth the two grand I paid. I think the pre amp let's it down. But my experience with the maker was what turned me off the bass and why I offloaded it. I was angry at the time and wrote the following review on Harmony Central: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ustom+Shop/10/1
Eeek! Have to say i'm totally happy with the bass as it is now, i was watching it for ages on eBay thinking "one day, i'll have that!". Never noticed any shortcomings in the preamp, mind i don't really push it. I just get a good clean, balanced signal and let the Markbass do the rest That's terrible customer service though, i've never heard anything like that associated with Shuker, ACG et al. Not surprised you were unhappy with it!
3. I didn't buy a new bass when i had my Gibson for around 3 years. Then i got the Corvette and didn't buy another bass for over 5 years. Then i joined this site..........
4. Some awesome basses there, esp. the Wal and the Thumb What issues did the Zoot have? Would like to know as it currently resides at lemmywinks towers!
5. Love these 2 videos, personally i think it's fantastic composition, beautiful melodies and genius musicianship rolled into one Particularly like the way he uses the de-tuners to change the pitch if the harmonics, sounds lovely I also like the way he occaisionally misses a harmonic and gets a mute or a scuffed note. There's hope for us all!
6. I'd take the missus shopping so i would be in the good books for when a new bass purchase is due!
7. His version of POW is right on the money too, makes that SX sound like an absolute monster!
8. Pete bought my Tascam USB interface, all went smoothly and seems like a nice chap!
9. Just bought some Warwick knobs, arrived quickly!
10. Just to add that Beedster is still looking at the neck so if anyone wants the body the prices are: Neck and Tuners - £170 Body, Bridge and Pickups - £170 Case - £20 I've decided to just price the neck and body equally and faction in £20 for the case which i think i can sell locally. Really someone should buy the whole thing for £360 though, cos it's well cheap like...... EDIT: Just to add that i'm only gonna split if i can sell both the parts as i don't wanna be left with something i'm going to take a big hit on
11. Thanks for the modification list and pics Mateybass, much appreciated!

13. Sweet bass mate, my favourite colour of the $$ Warwicks. Definitely on the want list! Cute cat too!
14. I have my main rig and a little Hartke A70 practice amp (which can actually go pretty darn loud). Currently putting together a mini rig comprising a Superfly and a small homebuild cab for something lighter for EUB jams, also can leave it in practice rooms with no worries about security Nothing wrong with having multiple rigs!
15.
I found myself in Guildford this afternoon and so I popped into Andertons to have a try of some Warwicks and hopefully a Corvette. They only really had a Bubinga Corvette Double Buck but it was better than nothing and it was more the neck and how it felt on a strap rather than the sound. The assistant handed it to me and my first thought was how heavy it was but in reality, it was no heavier than my Stingray. He plugged it in to a Mark Bass combo thing and I started to play and it sounded amazing. Now I know what the Warwick growl is and I loved it. It was also really tight and punchy. No idea what settings I had as it had two switches but how ever I set them it still sounded great. Next I tried it with a strap and again it felt fine. I played for about 20 mins and then I realised, the lack of dot markers on the face of the frets and realised not having them there is not going to be a problem. The bass was really well balanced and did not feel heavy or neck dived at all. My only concern was due to the long neck or shape of the bass, the frets are a little further away and I did feel I had to stretch a little to play further down the neck closer to the headstock. I'm sure I would get used to it but it was a noticable difference. I now wonder how different a Corvette Standard in Ash would be considering it has a bolt on neck, lighter body, different pickups and passive circuitry. I am so very tempted to go for one.
Converted! Time to get the credit card out methinks.... I didn't know Warwick still made passive basses, they didn't do the passive Corvette when i bought mine years ago.
16. I use a little case from B&Q, they were £16 for two different sized cases. They're £20 now so not such a good deal: http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?acti...;isSearch=false I use one for my LMII and the other is good for leads and the odd pedal

18. The recent active MIM one i played was noisy but sounded good. Had to be careful with the treble as it sounded brittle but the bass had tons of thud and was a slap beast. In fact it was one of the best slap sounds i've heard recently! Might benefit from some shielding too as it had a very prominent hum Seemed well built and played great though
19.
Et viola, not a conversion but an innovative piece of construction, only let down by the fact that it's hideous.
Makes you wonder why someone bothered to think all that up for such a horrible bass!

21.
Looks like another ebay vintage Fender with suspicioulsy light and unwaxy/ungreasy bare wood to me?
That's what i was thinking, the wood looks days old! The headstock looks lush though
22.
In a similar situation myself just now where you're a bit obligated to someone, normally a drummer it has to be said, but things don't appear to be progressing. our drummer just decided he wanted a 3-4 month break to sort out his extension!!!! left us in the lurch as we were just getting regular gigs. had enough of things now and even though we're still doing a couple of gigs which we're committed to I'm calling it a day. Pastures new. Don't know how old you are but I'm 40 in a couple of days and I don't want to mess around.
You can get pills to help with that nowadays!

24.
Ahh, I do miss my Schroeder, the one Lemmywinks has now and Dave tried. But the problems outlined are just unacceptable. Even my barefaced vintage is well put together and that was made by some bloke in brighton
Nice Warwick btw!
