Oooh, now that's clever - blank pedals with stickers. 4hrs sticking decals on? You need a Bass Intern You also ought to deliberately do one wrong and let the rumours talk it up as a rare icon. Hmm. Envelope filter with a quirky name. Going Postal? Funk Tank? If you do a Compressor you could call that The Squasher (I'm clearly thinking too much.)

Is the art for the Bass-mosphere sourced the same way as the previous ones? I do like this one too, and the name! You asked for artists to come up with designs? (I think it's a great idea and appreciate the support for other creative.) What pedals do you have your eye on next btw?

Exactly - this is classic 'but it's exposure' con. People die of exposure. It cheapens your trade and demeans your self-worth. Unless it's a charity gig and everyone's doing it for nowt, you have every right to be paid for your time. Obviously people think 'artists' don't need to be paid much because it's just some tunes, or a painting or a pot - but it neglects the hours and hours of practise, the expense of gear, the overhead costs of getting to gigs and promotion etc. You wouldn't tell a plumber they ought to fix your leak for free because you'll tell all your neighbours how good they were!

No pics, fake news!!

There's a joke there about the right bass for metal... You will hopefully find plenty of punters and interested parties at the regional shows - many people can't afford the time/cost of getting to that London. Although the downside is attracting famous muso's to venture out of London.

Nice result at the Bristol show. You and Chowny can take over the world from the safety of the West country! So - 6 string, multiscale, headless with moveable pickups and detachable toasting grill next? Seriously though - the wood looks amazing - the back of that instrument in the first pic of the last post is mesmerising.

Christ Illusion by Slayer. it’s not bad.

Or the Dingwall thread on Talkbass - Sheldon appears there frequently to answer questions too. They might be on sale soon - but if you want an order it'll be over a year's wait, so best bet is to pick one of the stock they will surely make to satisfy the popular options.

Yay! Glad to see an Acorn preserved. -
For the sake of your bank balance; leave the credit card at home and just go for a noodle!

Worst bass you've ever played that you did not own.
Daz39 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in Bass Guitars
A Squier Jazz - don't think it was a special edition or anything, but it was light blue, looked nice but played awfully - the neck pickup crackled, the action was far too high, the strings were dead, and it was too heavy. At the same visit (Guitar Guitar in Brum) I tried the Peavey Millennium that I now own - for the same sort of price it was ridiculously better. Even though the action was still too high for me, I deemed this as acceptable (I mean, if we turned down every instrument the store hadn't set up properly, we'd have very little to choose from) - and comparably it was far superior in feel and sound. -
That’s as mad as a box of frogs!!!

Although - I went to the site and err I can't work out exactly how the 3 differ. I mean - they do, a bit, but I am boggled.

That's a satisfying number of knobs. even Source Audio would look on in envy.

Lovely. Is it a 4 string? I have always admired the unique look of RA's Meeses - they look like a polished bit of tree with strings on. Is it as glorious unplugged too?

Ooh Helix stationery: it’s like school woodwork class again!

I have a passive millennium. (The one in my profile pic) It’s really nice: mine is barely 8lbs, good tonal variation from the J pickups. Neck is slim; Ibanez-like, and smooth. Made in Vietnam i believe. Tuning holds fine, metalwork good and a decent range of finishes. I got it new for £180 (i think).

Well - you came to the right place OP - there's more instrument building knowledge here than you can chuck a factory of MIMs at. I don't have the foggiest though. I suggest sandpaper, a sharp screwdriver and copious expletives!

You need to go on Scrapheap Challenge @Andyjr1515! You could compete with the A-Team to make a functioning Siege Onager from some wood and a few pins.

I can't stand Oasis. Any time it is on radio or a tv ad or whatever it's straight off. The level down from that is a host of songs or bands I don't enjoy but would put up with playing for a gig - e.g. With or Without You (although there's plenty of U2 I do like.), anything remotely ballady in fact. Gah. I would also, from the perspective of being extremely self-conscious and awkward, hate to perform anything with something approaching a bass solo, even a little fill would do me in. *twitch* Punters - bah!
