  1. Please please me - The Beatles
  2. Got mine last night too and have just had a run through. Complicated this week by having to stop playing part way through the service to get in the baptismal pool to help baptise 3 friends, get out, dry off, change clothes and play the rest of the service!
  3. Put a beer in their hand and tell him/her about the nice lady/ gentleman (depending on their taste) at the bar who’d like a word.
  4. How do voo doo what voo doo to me - Gerry & the Pacemakers
  5. Dream - Everley Brothers

  8. I wish I could fly - Orville
  9. Which one’s your mum?
  10. That definitely needs a gloss finish, then it will look reasonable period correct. That graining is excellent but it needs a really smooth finish to complement it. When I had a lower model Roadstar fretless which originally came black gloss,I stripped it and finished it in a natural using boiled linseed it looked great even though it was only a sort of plywood body.
  11. I suspect it worked better than the later little bit of wire grounding strip. When I ha one (a ‘96) the hum under some lights was terrible, leading me to believe the earth strip didn’t work very well.
  12. I’m surprised the strap broke, mine seems pretty tough, but I guess I only carry out to the car and then into the venue.
  13. Outside looking in - Jordan Pruitt
  14. Go now - Moody Blues
  15. Drive - The Cars (whoops didn’t notice this came up a few entries ago)
  16. Is t that unusual to have 2 colour sunburst in the 70’s? I had a tri-colour. Or is it just that the red has faded?
  17. Crawling king snake - Big Joe Williams (I think I’ve suggested this before!)
  18. Genuinely awful. Looks like a rummage in the parts bin.
  19. Is this the first winter you’ve had this bass? Given that Ibanez have pretty thin necks, you may need to tweak the truss with the season.
  20. Please, please me - Fab 4
  21. They should have been called Tower of Hair!
  22. I feel free - Cream
  23. Meet on the ledge - Fairport Convention
  24. That’s the nicest Legend I have ever seen. The Korean made Spectors are of a superb quality.
  25. I applaud Chowney’s decision and he is right to say one step at a time. As regards woods, Robert Godin may have lead the way, on some of his acoustics, particularly the Simon & Patrick brand he used local woods including cherry wood. If Fender can use Pine, why not? We have plenty of pine in the U.K. and some other fruit woods may be as good as cherry.
