  1. Sell it. With most people using good PA then if you need to be louder, d.i. your back line into the PA. Keep your amp for you to hear and put tone in but otherwise use the monitors to hear each band member, don’t rely on the back line for those on stage to hear, you probably never will. This will also help you save your ears, less volume on stage means longer life for your ears. Tinnitus is no fun 👎

  7. The pit band unseen orchestra No names Bland band 42nd Street band Les Mis

  12. I don’t like correcting fellow bassists, but Diamonds was played on a Fender VI bass tuned the normal way E to E. although some early footage it looks like his had 2 pickups rather than the usual 3 , but later he was using the normal one.
  13. My name is Jack - Manfred Mann
  14. Blue moon of Kentucky - Bill Monroe

  21. +1 for La Bella LTs. I do use roundwounds as well and currently have d’Addario on and low B is fine.
  22. Eb and G, curiously seem to go together quite nicely. Might try using them.
  23. I’ll quickly put this right. Here she ie playing her more familiar bass (although not the Fender P with the lump of foam under the strings). Played on more hits that most of us have had hot dinners. Just listen to God Only Knows, superb phrasing.
  24. Recently found this amazing performance on YouTube. Joni Mitchell, who’s guitar work is pretty good, with Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius and Michael Brecker on sax thrown in for good measure. Jaco has a solo spot at around 24, but it’s his accompanying playing that I think is so good. He seems to be using a fretted jazz on track 1 before switching to the more familiar fretless. Enjoy.
  25. Definitely NO. Good way to give yourself arthritis or RSI 👎
