1. Did you get TaySte's MK1? My 212 will also be a little smaller but only by about an inch or so and also its 8ohms so I can run both 12s with it (although Tayste did give me a special y-cable that covers 2x 8ohm cabs into 16ohms so I could do this anyway.) Sonically it is a great pairing. I honestly didnt think a 112 would shift such low end. I'm gonna take the head to practice tomorrow night with the other GS112nt and see how the head sounds at volume.
2. Hey people, i'm getting rid of one of my GS112nt's. I've got two, but im keeping one for my bands rehearsal room because they sound amazing! I wouldnt be selling, but as you can see above, I've got a new amp head that is comically massive compared to the compact, lightweight aguilar cab. to be honest, the paring could floor cities but it looks pretty silly so I just got an 8ohm 212 that'll do the trick. Its in great condition, the previous owner had this in a flight case, I've not gigged with this cab or even taken it out of the house yet. It has some light scuffing to the corner protectors, but thats what its there for!! heres the spec: One 12" cast frame woofer, 56 oz. magnet Power handling: 300 watts Impedance: 8 ohms One Neutrik Speakon and two 1/4" inputs Frequency response: 42 Hz to 2 kHz Sensitivity: 95 dB 1W 1M Heavy-duty spring loaded handle Interlocking corners Dimensions: 14"H x 19"W x 18"D 7-ply, void free Philippine mahogany Weight: 39 lbs. Price: SOLD I AM open to reasonable offers. The only thing I would reasonably trade for is a small, lightweight amp - along the lines of the Ampeg SVT Micro, or even the Ampeg PF350 (if its even out yet!) - something around 150w+, or a small valve amp that'll be loud enough for band practice, if not gigs so 50w+ (the simms cost me not alot more so dont say it cant be done!) - must have 8ohm output. You can collect, or I can post. If posting, it will most likely be the Saturday after payment is received.
3. Yeah, my girlfriend bought it for me a few years ago (on my request - for my birthday) but now ive got loads of synth-fuzz stuff and none that I actually use (save for an MXR Bass Blowtorch for one song). I never wanted to sell it but now im in two bands and i need a practice rig to leave at one bands practice place and a gigging rig I can take to gigs and practice with the other, louder band. Also got a Aguilar GS112nt for sale if anyone is interrested
4. Hey Guys, I need money for more amps, cabs. So regretably gotta shift some stuff. Crowther Audio Prunes & Custard - Harmonic Generator Intermodulator. SOLD OLC Flipster - Ampeg Portaflex-influenced bass Overdrive - SOLD RoadRage Mini True Bypass Looper - £30 inc UK postage Simple and tiny, you can power it if you want - its just operates the LED or just not bother. Postage usually happens the next working day, or as soon as I can depending on circumstances. Payment via paypal please
5. Hi Lee, I've got a '91 Usa Strat, it was my uncles and he originally gave it to me to sell for him, but its the best goddamn guitar ive EVER played, so I took it as an early inheritence It took a knock once it seems and was repaired but you can still see some of the damage to the paintwork, just cosmetic damage and in no way affects playability and you possibly wouldnt notice it unless i pointed it out, but if you ARE interrested, then I can get some pics up for you. Its got a black body, white pickguard and a maple neck. I was gonna change out the pickguard for a black one to match my P-bass. Drop me a PM if you're interrested
6. for short delay, i never needed tap tempo (i doubt most would), long delay then i'd want something with tap. Also, something that is definitely worth mentionting - look for a dealy with an EQ over the effect sound (like the Boss RE20), reason being that sometimes you dont want your delayed sound screwing with your bassline so much - sometimes its just for ambience. I usually EQ out some bass for precisely this reason. Having said that, I used and loved the Digitech/Hardwire Delay, the MXR Carbon Copy, the Subdecay Echo Box and the EHX Memory Boy (preferred it on guitar though)
7. Anyone ever played the Water Rats in Kings Cross? Single worse backline ever. Bass amp is a 'vintage' behringer, obviously by vintage i just mean old and knackered. I actually think its a practice amp that they provide to make sure the bass player cant turn up enough. Its a major killer. However, the soundmen (not seen any ladies) know whay they're doing and whilst the amp on stage barely serves me as a monitor, putting myself in the foldbacks helps me out alot. As does my trusty Tech 21 VTbass. Playing in london and only living just outside (end of the met line) means that I can jump on the tube to most gigs with a bass any my pedals, although playing through other peoples/house amps cant be helped I can still take a certain amount of responsibility for my tone. My advise - get into the sansamp stuff, just for the speaker sim that is invaluable if you use fuzz or distortion and are being DI'd - nothing more horrific to my ears than a fuzz going through a) tweeters or B)a PA.
8. The Matamp 212 in Jim's post (first post) used to be mine, unfortunately my Terror never even got to see it, but it now has Jim's beautiful GS112nt cabs for company. Also the Matamp cab deserved the AD200b. I think the Orange/Aguilar combo looks smart as hell, its much smaller than my previous Zoot 210/115 rig and easier to transport than the Matamp 212 (as its 2 separate cabs)
9. Yeah Ste, thats immense. I like 15s, but I also Like 12s too. I think if I needed 10s i'd probably want 6x10 or more. Been thinking about maybe one day getting a pair of the Orange SP212s - so it'd actually be a 4x12 at half the size.
10. A deal is currently in the works. Its a great cab, but really my situation means that its a cab thats barely getting any use. Unfortunately with the Matamp, i was halfway to my dream rig, but nows not the time for it. No way will the Simms head fit on my cab, they'll both have to sit on the floor, either that or go all Kiss and start rigging up dummy cabs
11. Yeah, but it still wouldnt be any easier for me to carry up and down a narrow stairwell and get in the boot of my car, which would leave me in the same place i am now - one cab that i leave at the practice place and nothing to play through at home!
12. Sorry bud, deal already in the works. I will probably get matamp to build me another in the future but the deal im looking at works pretty well for my current stiuation. My lack of matamp is only temporary
13. **Feeler for interrest** Its This one: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...atamp&st=20 I paid £280 before postage (I spent ALOT on postage because I needed saturday delivery) so i'd like that back - you can collect from Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire or Leytonstone, East London. You're welcome to arrange a courier at your own expense, but im not the greatest for availability due to work and band constraints. My Situation is this: I practice in a squat in Leytonstone (east London), up a very narrow flight of stairs. I'm sure most bass players dont have to deal with this sh*t just to have a practice, but in the past i've regularly carried cabs all the way up those stairs and all the way down. When I got the Matamp and took it to practice i noticed two things: 1) its the greatest cab i've ever heard - loud, punchy, articulate - everything i'd hoped it would be. and: 2)now its up in the practice room, i'm not moving it anywhere until a gig because if it goes down those stairs I fall down the stairs with it and be crushed to death or worse: break the cab. So I've been leaving it there so I can practice with it and so I dont have to try and lug it down stairs and into the boot of my peugeot 107 (3-doors and bass cabs dont mix) and back every week. They guys in the squat are my buddies and the cab is safe - its Speakon only, so no one actually has anything that will run through it! (unlike my old Ashdown that got ragged) - so it sits in the corner, hidded with blankets. Now I sold my last Zoot Cab and I have nothing to play thought at home. I've just purchased TaySte's Simms Watts PA 100 head which needs an 8ohm Cab, My Orange Bass Terror will do 8 or 4 so REALLY what I should do is get a something like the Orange SP210 or 212 which is small, portable, and is 8ohms. In reality, the Matamp probably not as heavy as I make out - its not as heavy as the old Trace Elliot 410 that they have in there - I'll get figures and let you know (Veils - who I bought this off - reckoned between 40-50kgs). As I said, I was only lugging an ultralight Zoot 210 up those stairs for a good year or so before that, I so I was pretty spoilt. I can lift the Matamp with two hands, but im used to lifting the zoot cabs with one! Also im pretty, small 5'5 or something, so its not that easy for me anyway. My Ultimate plan is getting 2 SP212s for my Bass Terror. What im selling is a 4ohm Gin-u-wine Matamp 212 Bass Cab in orange Tolex. Its loud as all hell and will punch through walls if you want to: it will handle a whapping 800w Its got a few little battlescars but nothing to complain about. ***this is just a feeler at the moment, im probably not going to be sticking this on ebay and its not open to offers** I do really love this cab, but I need something I can carry up and down stairs on a regular basis. If no one here wants it - hell i'll just suck it up and get another cab when i get paid. Let me know if your interrested. The cab is currently is in leytonstone, if there is any interrest Im happy to a) get more pics b)bring it to mine in Rickmansworth.
14. im watching this on ebay now buddy, I'm looking for this for a home practice/emerceny grab cab (my Matamp 212 weighs a tonne and its at my practice studio - i got it up the stairs, not so convinced itll get down without me being injured)
15. PS, is delivery included (just incase something wonderful happens)?
16. What are you doing to me dude? Just bought a Bass Terror to tide me over until the day I can afford a GT200 You you wave this in my face?! I almought bought an ashdown little bastard - and that was only 30w. and the same price I just bought a Bass Terror, and I got a Matamp 212 I cant even lift. I really need this £300 (when I earn it) to go towards an orange 210 isobaric cab (for home practice/cab i can grab at a push when i cant get the Matamp) Having said that, Its beautiful and I hate you for making me realise the beaty of real tubes.

18. ****SOLD***** So I bought two bronco basses, a black and a red one - I turned the Black one into a sweet Musicmaster (with an Aero Musicmaster Pickup) which was up for sale but I think i'll keep it. **this is being sold as parts/spares or as a project - in its current state, it sounds like ass** The Red Bronco here was meant to become a Mustang. I got the pickups, The Pickguard, the Control plate and a Musicmaster Bridge - all of these had to be imported from the states. then got bored and couldnt be bothered. Along the way I dinged the body and also had to do some routing with a screw driver to fit the new pickup in. I'm looking for £70 ono for everything EXCEPT the 'Death' neck plate - thats a keeper (ill include the original), I should have the original budget strat pickup that they put in the stock bronco, and when I find it, ill include it. Its got a fresh set of D'addario EXL 160s Nickelwound shortscale bass strings. I sprayed the neck with nitrocellulose amber tint to make it look a little less bleached out. Its not a pro job but but it makes the bass look alot better. Heres whats actually included in the sale: Squire Bronco Bass neck (amber nitro tinted) with original Tuners and neck plate- I have a string tee to include but need a screw for it Red Squire Bronco Bass Body - original bridge, pots and wiring. Original pickup when I find it. Fender Mustang Bass pickups (imported from the states) Fender Musicmaster Bridge (you will need to drill the bridge for the strings to go through to make it top loading) WD Parts Mustang Bass Pickguard (pickup holes have been filed badly to let the pickups in) Fender Mustang Bass control Plate two Squire Bronco bass pickguards - one sprayed orange, 1 stock white. Oh, the 'competition stripe' is just black electrical tape. To get the bass to a great condition (ie: better than the original) i would suggest the following: a couple of CTS pots to replace the 500k mini ones. and replace all the wiring. If you dont fancy the Mustang look, slap in a strat-style humbucker or a Aero Musicmaster (if you can find one) slap some carbon paint over the bits I hacked away. *SOLD**
19. I actually got the Orange Terror Bass for the time being (small steps ) - but I am STILL saving for the Matamp - but its gonna be a long haul
20. Shortscale buddy, all the broncos and the musicmasters were.
