1. So im selling my bronco bass, I screwed round with it royally. This is what I've done: + Sprayed the neck with amber-tint nitrocellulose + Replaced the Tuners with 'elephant ear' ones - like the musicmaster had + Replaced the pickguard with a musicmaster one (imported from the states) and filled the holes with glue, matchsticks and plack nitrocellulose (you can still see where they were but its less noticable) + Replaced the pickup with a hand made, handwound musicmaster Aero (the only replacement bass-specific pickup on the market, everyone else who replaces them does so with guitar pickups) + White electrical tape gives that 'competition-stripe' look + White thumb-rest was added. + I do have a musicmaster bridge with the 4 individual sadles which will allow for better intonation, it needs 4 holes drilled to make it top-loading (its made for string through) - i will include this in the sale too. + replaced the chrome barrel knobs with strat-style ones **although I have a different, custom neck-plate in the photos, I do intend on keeping it and not including it for sale.** I'm not a luthier, im not a guitar/bass tech - these mods have not been done to a high standard, but the bass is fully functional and sounds great to me - it looks and sounds 200x better than a stock bronco in my opinion. You can see a video of me playing the bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=9sQ8KGkdrKQ Our singer hates Jazz, we definitely cant play jazz (im just not that good), so bare that in mind when viewing this abortion of music. Here a link to the photo album of the build + finished pics: http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q143/dosiyanarchy/bonco/ This photo shows the difference the Nitro neck-tint made against the bare wood: These photos show where I tried to fill the holes: The bass could probably do with a good setup, but I think I set the intonation correctly and its go a fresh-ish set of DR Shortscale roundwound Bass strings. I would like £150 for it including UK postage - if no one wants it for that price, I am happy to keep it and continue modding! (i've got a couple of CTS 250K pots that i might throw in) Payment via paypal please
2. One of these was my first bass!! they are pretty rare, this is the second one ive seen in the last 10 years
3. I've been about just decided that I was gonna put this back in rack and not sell it. A year and a half later its still in the rack and im thinking about a new amp!
4. Just sold my 3XFX Fatman to Ivan, great bloke and a hassle free transaction.
5. I would love this, seems like a great price. I'm looking for a 200w valve bass head, unfortunately I'll have to shift my current rig to get this
6. I would love this, but unfortunately I have to sell a few things first (ie my current markbass/zoot rig)
7. Hey Shep, interrested in trade for my Myrtle Pedals Corvid Fuzz? Its basically a Jumbo Tonebender with out the mid-scoop.
8. Hello everyone, I've got some pedals for sale as im trying to fund a custom [SFX] pedal and a Matamp GT200 (in my dreams). First up: OLC FLIPSTER - £100 inc Postage (or nearest offer) This is essentially an overdrive based on the Ampeg Portaflex SB-12, which is quite similar to the B-15. Its got a great tube tone, I recorded my band's album with it on all the time. The controls are Level, Bass, Treble and Drive. This was handbuild to a high standard by a member on Talkbass who I bought it off and had it shipped to the UK from the States. I've probably had this a bit over a year and its a great OD, I've also got a Tech 21 leeds which is more 'clanky' and suits me more. From the Website: The Ampeg™ SB-12 Portaflex™ adapted for use as a distortion stompbox. From runoffgroove.com When one thinks of classic bass amps, the brand name "Ampeg" often comes to mind. Their SVT models were very popular and still are today. Slightly less known Ampeg combo-type models were also made, called "Portaflex" amps. In "travel" form, these appeared to be simple closed back speaker cabs with a pair of chrome latches on either side of the top panel. When one released the latches, the top panel could be removed and flipped over to reveal a tube head unit. One simply plugged in the attached speaker cable and the amp was ready to go. The unique design led to the nickname of "Flip Tops." We looked at many schematics for the vintage Ampeg bass amps and came to the conclusion the popular SVT is very similar to the Portaflex models as far as circuit topology goes. The Portaflex models are simplified versions of the SVT model. We picked one of the Portaflexes to keep our circuit as straight-forward as possible. We named the circuit the Flipster, a take-off of the nickname of the old amps. We chose the SB-12 model Portaflex as our starting point for a FET-based bass overdrive. It is simple, and we had an historical reference: a member of the runoffgroove.com team had once owned a late "60s SB-12 Roadrage micro True Bypass Loop - £25 inc UK postage Fulltone Bass Drive Mosfet - SOLD Boss Psm5 - SOLD Subdecay Quasar Phaser - SOLD, Payment pending 3XFX Fatman Distortion Pedal - SOLD, payment pending Myrtle Pedals Corvid Fuzz - SOLD Pedals will go out ASAP (next day where I can) via recorded delivery, payment via paypal.
9. I've owned both and would honestly say the microfuzz, it's smoother and far more in line for muse-like sounds
10. I had steves old bass fuzzsaw (bass modded one) - and with a clean blend it ultimately killed and for 55 quid this an absolute bargain, I'd totally nab it if I didn't have my own fuzz to get shot of.
11. Hey thanks bassbunny, they are great cabs and so light! But it's embarrassing how little they're being used (especially the 115) and as I'm living with my parents (still) I owe it to them to get some of the stuff out of their living room ( 2 zoot cabs, 3 guitar amps) and god knows it won't all fit in my bedroom, I don't really want to stick these on eBay as I'd have to jack the price to cover fees but my matamp purchase is looking ever more likely, so I need to get rid. Theo
12. Unfortunately so are my cabs! Had some interest, but no sale yet. This seems perfect for me and I dig the looks too! I could do with shifting my cabs beforebuying this, but at the same time I don't wanna miss out on this, so I'll let you know how I get on.
13. Hey, im pretty interrested in this and may take this off you if i manage to sell my own cabs
14. I'm absolutely interrested in this, but im based around london. and i dont get paid till the 28th - got a couple of cabs for sale, if i sell one or two then ill take this ASAP or ill have to wait until i get paid
15. Hello everyone, I'm trying to downsize, probably gonna get a matamp 212, so i'm selling off these beauties. The 115 has barely been used (possibly 3 gigs and 3 practices ). As my band play in london mainly, bringing our own backline isnt usually on the cards especially when we ge the train down. Consequently i've had the cab sitting in my parents living room for about a year. (LMII is just for illustration purposes, it has now been sold) I bought them new from Lean Business about a year ago, and I think i got some of the last Zoot cabs produced before they started doing Purple Chilli. This is what lean business said: Limited Availability! This is part of the reason why i bought them in the first place, I pracice up a narrow flight of stairs in a squat, so i needed something i could carry easily. This combined with my Markbass LM II made for a super back-friendly rig - It also SLAYED, I've had the oppertunity to hear other bands play through the rig (LMII - 210 and 115 cabs) when we've supplied the backline and rig sounds great - really fat and punchy. The 115 due to its lack of use is in fantastic condition with nought but a few scuffs to the plastic corner shields. Prices. Zoot 115nt - looking for around £250 (collected) or £275posted Would prefer local pickup (Rickmansworth, hertfordshire - junction 18 of the m25) - but I can drive a reasonable distance (within 100 miles). The only reason I dont want to post is that I dont have/cant find a suitable box for postage. As mentioned, im trying to consolditate my cabs so that i've got a 212 that I can take everywhere - something Neo would be ideal. So if you've got a light-weight, high quality 212 that you'ver been looking to get rid of and you want to discuss a trade of one/both of these cabs, just send me a message. Payment via paypal or cash on collection/delivery
16. Cheers Ian, I was letting my old guitarist (whos now a bass player) have a go with the FatMan, and it sounded really great. There hasnt been much interrest so I might try and use it like a normal fuzz (as opposed to a replacement for my blowtorch).
17. Not Compared it to the SFT, they might be quite similar really, but the Flipster is based specifically on the portaflex. But the Tech 21 Leeds is where i am with, rather than ampeg
18. how has no one bought this? BUMP
19. urm yeah, as long as your happy me to wait until it clears im fine with that.
