1.
I did exactly this with my Squier VM P5. In my case it was a Badass II. I ended up siting the BA slightly further back than the original bridge to ensure I had enough travel for the B to intonate. Do this & you're golden. Along with taking all precautions to make sure it's dead centre etc.

I'm with Gary. Wood filler looks the part, but it's not strong. I would use cocktail sticks (they're hard wood, matchsticks are weak firewood). Glue one stick in place, then cut fine sticks from the same cocktail sticks and ram the holes full. Let the glue set and then drill the new holes. When you fit the new bridge, use masking tape under the old bridge for you to draw markings on the body, to show you the positions of the sides and the back line of the old bridge. Then find the centre line of the old bridge and mark that. Them mark the centreline of the new bridge and align that on the body with the centreline of the old bridge. Also align the back of the new bridge with the old backline - unless the style of the new bridge means you need more/less space. Roceci beat me to it!
I consider both options. I may not like the bridge so may want to avoid filling the holes.
 2. If i gigged I'm having it. I've got the 100w version and it is pretty loud.
 3. Dead flats were found in your possession! Account for it!

 5. I've got a c shape neck on my jazz bass. Matt Freeman neck is similar but think chunkier but I find it comfortable
 6. Thanks gents, it's a real pain in backside when simple things require additional work.
 7.
Is that a serious question? My guess is that it is. In case: No, I'm not on drugs. I never am, nor am I ever drunk. Why would you ask the question?
Only messing! There's only one Steve Harris.
 8. Finally, I got around to replace the stock bridge with Fender high mass bridge (looks like bad ass) on my P bass. Both bridges have five holes but spacing is not identical. Should I use wood filler to fill holes and drill new holes at the same line or move the bridge forward and drill new holes. Any advice?
 9.
Ah. You're mistaken then. I'm very much a basschatter, though I use the JTUK login name most of the time, and BassTractor and the other mentioned ones slightly less often. You may call me Mr Harris or simply JTUK.
Are you on drugs?
 10.
Steve Vai once met me after a gig!
Was it before Christmas 2012 at London gig?
 11. Had one for over a year and it's the most used bass out of three for the following reasons. The neck is very comfortable and it sounds great. I remember the initial reaction when I first played it. It sounded raw and punchy I swapped the pick ups but will revert back to stock pick ups to get the sound back. The only drawback is the signature on the headstock and the thumb rest. I can't fault the vintage Olympic white colour and the maple neck.
 12. I met Steve Harris after the gig last Friday, but doubt it very much he is a basschatter.

 15.
Therapy? Doing an acoustic show at the Union Chapel on Thursday night. Absolutely brilliant show...oddly, not especially for the music. More the intimate setting and relaxed between song banter, every song a sing along, a lot of story telling, etc Sadly the bass was a bit anonymous. Also, no booze inside the venue because God objects. Just one more reason to be an atheist
Hip flask or travel coffee mug. Don't think the mystical being could tell what you drink 😉
 16. Can't see issue with a chip on the bass. Makes it look road worn.
 17. British Lion- Steve Harris. Mr Harris presented so much power onstage. I stood about 3 meters from him whilst he played and it was unbelievable. Got a selfie and autograph.
 18.
Shame this isn't an offer of a spare ticket for tomorrow night, when he's playing about 10mins from my house. Too slow off the mark, Sold Out!
Hi Lewis.Sure you get another chance. I think venues may have spare tickets on the day. Worth calling them
 19.
On a jazz bass the bridge pickup does very little imho. So it won't add much to the P pups if anything at all.
I am not entirely sure about this lol.
 20. Going to see Steve Harris British Lion at Folkestone tonight. My wife may not be able to come through sickness so I may trade the spare ticket for a pint. This will be a last minute notice depending on how she feels so will suit a local basschatter.Let me know if you're interested. I'd prefer if the ticket went to a Steve Harris fan.
 21. Maidstone. Live bands over weekends some week days. Music festivals in summer. All sorts of music
 22.
There is a song Called Baby Got Back. Its a bit of a tongue in cheek MTV rap type song from days gone by. The opening lines are "I like big butts and I cannot lie" Your thread title brought to mind the lyrics to that song. It's not on youtube though, he must be one of those people that doesn't like his songs on there. Anyway, hope that clears it up! I like dead flats too by the way, the deader the better. Sorry I derailed your thread.
Cheers...a bit off the title by the first responder but never mind. Have a good evening
 23.
No it's not that, I was referring to the earlier post. Its a reference to a song by Sir Mix a Lot. I do like your tone though in your vids. Very nice.
I'm completely lost and don't get the response to my dead flats at all!
