1. The band name totally matches the music. Some of it can be repetitive and too long just like post Iron Maiden songs.
 2. Glad someone else posted this. But do you really care what happens when you die, and where you decompose?
 3. My sparkly Royal blue Steve Harris p bass so a daylight on a table at services followed by cash ex change. Not an every day occurance there.
 4.
Pics and description to follow, tonight
Waiting
 5.
Tough one this, as soon as we get to the chorus the crowd are rocking, likewise Sex on Fire! I hate SOF but my band are there to entertain so if we get to the second set and it's rocking there's no mileage in throwing something too obscure in. We are playing a couple of originals now but they're in the first half at the moment and are more listening songs. We do try to play slightly different rock stuff but some of the classics are what entertain. We generally finish with What's Up which usually turns into an all pub singing session! The more they dance, the more they drink and everyone's happy, especially the landlord!
I usually go if I'm in the pub as the out of tune crowd singing is painful. And seeing all those sweaty armpits in the air makes me gag.
 6. As soon as Living on Prayer starts, it's time to go home
 7. On Schpock you can leave them a bad feedback
 8. It's not about offering. They accept the purchase and the item automatically shows as sold. They arrange to pick up so I get it ready for them, clean it if need be and they do not show up. Hate it....
 9. I have been using a site called Schpock for about a year to buy and sell various items.Mainly items that collect dust in garage, loft or items I have no longer use for.I've picked up a nice accoustic guitar and an LP Epiphone. What frustrates me that often people agree to buy arrange to collect and they do not show up. Often they come up with the same excuse. When they re arrange to collect....they fail again and ignore the messages. Really gets me when someone is unreliable.
 10. Very nice. I've picked up a Korean Epiphone gold top. Plays and feels superb.
 11.
If you want to reduce the 'click' of the bass, try:

Adding a Low Pass Filter (LPF) to the bass track and sweep it down through the frequency range, from high to low. You might find a point at which you can deaden the click without taking too much away from the bass tone itself.

If that doesn't work... use an parametric EQ - one that has a 'Q' setting. Start by adjusting the Q to around 6 or so; add a boost of say +6db and sweep the EQ frequency up and down until you hear the click sound getting louder. What you're trying to do here is work out roughly where the click sound is sitting in the frequency range. Play with the Q setting and level boost until the click sounds the loudest/ most irritating. Then apply a level cut at that frequency using relatively high Q setting (known as a 'notch'). This might allow you to reduce the level of the click without affecting too much of the frequencies around it.

Adding some mild distortion/ saturation can also help to disguise a clicky bass (this is also a good trick for helping a bass cut through a busy mix).

Don't sweat it! I didn't really focus on the click sound when I first had a listen. The trouble with learning to mix is that it can also somewhat ruin your enjoyment of casual listening... life is full of trade-offs

Thanks for that. I added a bit of distortion during recording to help cut through. The issue I see with mixing is that bass might sound good with drums but not guitars. When I the adjust the EQ to sit with guitars it then doesn't sit with drums. Etc.
 12.
Don't mind me, I'm a drummer and I like to hear a nice, clear bass drum..! It's a shame, as what I hear is a fine composition, well played, but truly spoiled by that infernal 'clucking', as if someone is going 'Tut..! Tut..!' over the 'hard' passage. Still, as I said before, if that's your 'style', that's your 'style'. Don't mind me; I'm a drummer.
Thanks for your criticism. I've tried my best to master it and I think it sounds better than the first version unfortunately I can't change the way I play bass. I even re recorded the bass and went easy on the strings.
 13. I re recorded the bass and re mastered the song (see the link above) tried to get the best balance, and NO I won`t turn the bass down anymore, I am a bass player and this is a bass forum
 14. Low action and hard touch for me
 15. I used to clean the strings. I used to boil them, clean them with alcohol, soak them etc. The amount of time spent on cleaning is too tedious. I like pkaying my aged flats now that I wipe down with microfiber cloth when they get sweaty. I barely use my jazz with roundwounds so no more cleaning.
 16.
I am not sure , but a quick listen on my phone suggests to me the top end fq of the kick , though I can also hear the click of a hard hit bass at a few points, funny though, I didn't pick up that when listening at home last night
I've just listened to it on the phone and the bass is rather clicky which is the way I like it. I might re master the song if I get a chance. Do you thinknow the kick drum has too much high top end?
 17.
S'easy, really, just play a track that you know and like, in the same genre as your compo, and at the same volume level. Adjust the bass (or middle, or treble...) to match what the reference track sounds like and you're good..! Cymbals..? There are cymbals in there..? I hear a faint 'crash' now and again, so I'd reckon they're mixed about right..! On the other hand, there's a horrible clicking sound spoiling the mix, and I'd add that the bass drum is a tad 'woolly' to me. No big deal, but that clicking is damned irritating. Certainly not voluntary; what is it, making that racket..?
Thanks for advice. I'll give it a go. That clicking must be me playing bass hard?
 18. I don't need another one I don't need another one I don't need another one I don't need another one I don't need another one I don't need another one
 19.
I've said it before, but it might be worth repeating... One can mix with even very modest gear (although there are limits, of course..!) if one uses known pieces from one's own repertoire as reference for the sound one is trying to achieve. A comparison between a 'pro' mix and the 'work in progress' can be made; any lack of fidelity will be common to the two, and so has little effect. I have to admit to having very dodgy ears (wot wiv bein' old an' all...), but use this method to check my efforts. Usually, I find that if I can hear the cymbals, they're too loud..! Just sayin'; hope this helps...
In my case it is the bass. Or is it because I want the bass to be heard? Or is it because I'm a bass player. ...are you saying my cymbals are loud?...
 20. Have you considered spraying it yourself?
 21. The issue with uploading playing a cover version in Soundcloud.com is that they may remove it?
 22. Looks like I owe gallons of beer not a pint...... I had a house mate who played and recorded his Fender strat daily. I loved it as the music he played was awesome and the fact it annoyed the neighbour who played loud techno music at nights.
 23. I think most of us had to learn at some point how to play an instrument or two and it is not fair to critsize others how they play. We all have our unique way to play and express ourself through music. I often play things myself that others would say: What the hell is he doing? I remember when I learnt to play when I was 17. The following day I sat in the classroom with a blank expression and the teacher said. You can't concentrate on work but last night you had all the time to play the guitar. The teacher was our neighbours daughter in law! My parents also had to listen to the endless bass attempts when I was a teen. I owe an appology Please share a funny moment when you started playing bass ir other instrument.
