  1. Top job, all of you. That was tough to choose.
  2. The trans-purple 800 Series with gold hardware is the one I lust after 🙂
  3. I emailed ESP many years ago about my 400 Series. Any records they had were destroyed in a fire in the 90's, but he put it somewhere between 88-91. Regardless of any of that, it's an incredible bass. And here's a page from their 1990 catalogue
  4. I love Quicksand, will get my derrière to bandcamp to pick that new one up. I'd dig some more Rival Schools, too.
  5. The price should be £19.71, if you're just going to pull a number out of the air.
  6. I've been on a serious Soundgarden buzz recently and am enjoying Ultramega OK at the moment. The remixed version which cane out a few years ago is a major improvement on the original. What was once thin and weedy now has some cajones.
  7. Was it Mick Mason, the scammer from Leicester on Facebook?
  8. There are few things worse than a tribute band who go half-arsed into the looky-likey side of it, be it through crap, cheap looking wigs and clothes or only one or two of them doing it at all. Step forward Slash from your average Guns 'n' Roses tribute. If you're going to do the Stars in Your Eyes thing, take it very seriously or do not bother at all. It should go without saying that a tribute act should have the music nailed and nailed hard.
  9. I'm starting the day with some Nails. Catchy stuff.
  10. I wonder has there ever been a discussion on the effect of the battery cavity right under the strings, how much of an effect it has on the vibration of the strings and, of course, whether different brands of batteries have an impact acoustically as well as electronically. Surely tonebatteries can be a thing? 😁
  11. I quite like the body, but the headstock has too much of a Mr. Burns alien thing about it. It's horrendous.
  12. That actually sounds better than the real thng 😂
  13. Looks like a BC Rich Eagle made when Bernie was doing some industrial grade LSD
  14. It's a 70's Fender, there's room in the pocket. This kind of thing is very, very common and you can see the E string looks massively towards the treble side too and isn't aligned over the pickup poles. The neck bolts just need to be loosened, centre the neck and tighten the bolts again.
  15. He was the right voice for the job, just probably didn't have the right passport.
  16. The Contortionist are really good. Their last two albums, Language and Clairvoyant are worth investigating. From the sunny UK, give Derange a spin too. I like them a lot.
  17. I thought The X Factor was massively underwhelming when it came out until I heard Man On The Edge played live, I think it was on Ray Cokes' show on MTV at the time. Unshackled from the lifeless production on the album, the rough live mix was full of fire and energy and showed there was nothing particularly wrong with the song or the singer. Blaze wuz robbed.
  18. I've been dabbling with the post-reunion albums over the last few days but, today, went with SIT and SSOASS. Two mighty albums. I love the production of SIT.
  19. Nice. Although custom painted-to-match scratchplates, red for the white one and white for the red one, would be creepily cool, like those parents who dress all their kids up in the same outfit.
  20. Let's sort it out in the ring. My money is on the Hulkster
  21. Just a word of caution when it comes to other brand's coated strings - Elixir own the patent on coating the finished string as a whole which is what stops your biocrud getting into the winds which makes the string go dead. The other brands coat the outer wrap and then wind it onto the string which is largely useless, in my experience, having wasted money on D'Addario and Warwick's coated offerings.
  22. Wow. He deleted stuff which is even worse than the stuff in this thread. Is that even possible?
  23. If they haven't got the money to pay you and, instead, expect you to pay them... well, they mustn't be very good at what they do, surely?
  24. Soundgarden - Echo Of Miles. They hard some truly great non-album tracks over the years
