  1. Try the good old Seymour Duncan Hot Stacks, very balanced pickups and great set combination, and the basic Jazz Bass sound is still present, just fatter and hotter. The Nordstrand Big J-Blade Warm & Wooly just stick to your description needs, if you like the look and ... price. @Marcoelwray is an official retailer for Nordstrand pickups and also for Delano. Just ask him what would suit your needs. 😉
  2. Is there a way to get a milky sound ?
  3. A bass for Flea :
  4. Oh, la vache !
  5. Thanks Ash, I will for sure. I had a Series 3 UL310 and it was really good. I know that the first series have different speakers, considered to be "better" : will see, or more precisely hear. 😉
  6. Yes, but first use a continuity tester to check each and every connection, following the first schematic, that will be faster and easier.
  7. Of course, the DPDT switches wirings are different, one is for active/passive switching, the other for series/split/parallel mode of the pickup... So can't be compared. Figure it this way : Pickup wires go to the first DPDT switch, then the live output goes to the volume and then the ouput of the volume goes to the second DPDT switch for active/passive modes.
  8. The ones on the right, of course, wired in green on the schematic. 😉
  9. Ok, if not, do it. Looking at the second schematic, it's mandatory.
  10. Ok, got it. Did you solder B2, M1, M2 and N2 to the ground ?
  11. What do you mean by VT ?
  12. Am I dubious ? Yes I am ! 🤘
  13. Ok, quite easy, the output of your DPDT switch is now the output of your pickup in the 3rd MM3 diagram, the ground remaining the, urm, ground. As simple as that. And just get rid of volume 2 as you only use one pickup, if I read correctly.
  14. And the schematics for the new Kent Armstrong 2 or 3 bands preamps :
  15. Here is the complete schematics for new Kent Armstrong pickups :
  16. And here we go : These are not the most beautiful solders I've seen...
  17. @Soledad I'll make you a photo, this evening, of the back of the control plate of my Fender Jazz Bass Jaco Pastorius Relic Custom Shop, so you'll see what is inside. When I'll change the strings, I'll do the same for the pickups, but you'll have to wait a bit more. 😉
  18. A Paul Lairat Stega without imagination, and R & D : https://lairat.com/basses/basses-categorie/stega-4-cordes-luxe/ Or a the Prince touch :

  20. You are a lefty too, Russ, are you ? 🤔 🤣 Very very very nice fretless bass indeed (but I'm stuck to 34 inches scale). GLWYS.
  21. Is the fork lift delivered with ? 😁
  22. Especially here... 🤣
  23. Owning one, it's wired the old way, with two SINGLE coils pickups, two volumes, a tone and a capacitor, nothing else. If you want that Jaco sound, put some CS Fender Jazz Bass SINGLE coils pickups or try the French HepCat Jazz Bass '62 SINGLE coils pickups, which are terrific : http://hepcatpickups.com/produit/jazz-bass-62/. And don't forget this dirty cheap little preamp pedal to get that Acoustic 360 +361 tone : http://www.one-control.com/blue-360-bass-preamp.html You can find it here : https://www.thomann.de/gb/one_control_blue_360_bass_preamp.htm You can even add the Rotosound RS66LD strings to be complete without forgetting the epoxy treated fingerboard. By the way, SINGLE coils are not noisy when you have a real shielding done and are the only pickups that will give that mid growl and mwah by simply cutting the tone, using the bridge pickup and boosting the mids on your amp. An 18 inches speaker, yes 18", helps a lot too, just like a thick Brazilian rosewood fingerboard... Good luck with your quest. 😉
