2. I've done the Rockschool Grade 8, and obtained a distinction. Some of my mates have asked several times "What is the point" and can't grasp the idea of music exams. Personally i enjoy learning, no matter what the subject, as long as it's relevant to me. I'm not in a band so it gave me something to focus on and also give some structure to my practice for a while. I'm looking to do the RGT grade 8 once i get the time to schedule the exam in, and also work my way up to 8 theory too - It may not give me any use for them in the future, but it's something to do now. I did find that the rockshool exams were more about learning and repeating the pieces and scales etc than being able to have a musical knowledge and a good ear. Also, the examiner i had was hot!!
 3.
Oooh nice Sending pm
Sorted!
 4. I'm still working on it, only a handful of gigs left for me, then home! They're as tight as ever and certainly on form every night.
 5. Sure, I have. P.M. me your e-mail address and i'll send it through. I've pretty much got all of the chili peppers stuff.
 6. Once again, it wasn't a gig I was playing at, but one I was working on. O2 indigo, DVD shoot and the notoriously temperamental parts of the show that I'm responsible worked a treat for the telly-box-video-dvd filming of the gig, - happy days. Some day soon I'll have another gig where I'm playing!
 7.
Doesn't he play for Liverpool? I've heard that their Mark King at corners hasn't been very good.
hee hee, very good!
 8.
I am Mark King
And so's my wife.
 9.
I live on the third floor, so no.
It took me a couple of minutes, but i got there in the end! ha ha!
 10.
Just in case anybody who isn't going really wanted to, here's a quick summary of what the gig will be like: Clackety clackety, clickety clackety, clackety clack, clickerty clack. <lame singing> Clickety clackety clack, clackety click <lame singing> Clickety clickety clack, clackety clack, clackety clack, clickety clack <more lame singing> Lights go up
That's my bit!
 11.
Leaving the house in 15 mins to meet my mates for a curry and beers, then on to the magnificent Sage to see Level 42. Fortunate to get seats very close to the front, long time since I last saw Mark King - Billingham Forum ages ago - looking forward to it. Anyone going?
I'm already here! Should be a good one tonight, a lot of tickets have been sold, it's a great, venue. Nice 'n big so it should look (& sound) good too.
 12. Also, with it being a 30th Aniv tour, you'd expect it to be full of the songs FROM the past 30 years etc.
 13. The Chinese way - shortly before putting all of the gear onto a truck, heading to Glasgow and then putting it all back up again in the morning!!
 14.
I love his effortless way of playing - he's hardly moving at all on that video
I nearly lost my coffee then!
 15. Should be good, for those going to see the shows. I've not seen Yolanda play outside of RW, so i'm definitely looking forward to that. http://www.groove4dayz.com/
 16. Looks awesome, I hope it plays as good as it looks.
 17.
Just watched the intro there, Stuart Hamm just keeps on getting better and better! He has also been recording a new album too, which is very exciting news!
And he's a lovely bloke too! (i met him at the bass merchant Hartke clinic thing - top evening out).
 18. I've got some Elacin ER-15's, simply the best £160 i've ever spent, worth every penny, but i've misplaced them at a gig i was working at, i think it was Hammy Odeon last week. Gutted, especially as i'm out working on a couple of back-to-back tours starting this week, which leaves me no time to get any more.
 19. In my time i've seen all sorts of banners and backdrops, from the ludicrously large stadium size drapes with UV paint and internal lighting and all the whistles and bells, right through to literally a bed sheet with the band's name written on it with a sharpie minutes before the went on stage. At festivals pretty much every band has one as it immediately identifies who you are should your music catch the ear of passing punters, simple but effective. The most common manufacturers of drapes that i see & know are: Hangman http://www.hangman.co.uk/home.html and Rock drops http://www.rockdrops.com/products.html Their quality is second to none, however i've no idea about prices in comparison to other companies.
 20.
The Redundant Apostrophe's
Ha ha!
 21. Personally, if i was in a band which toured around the world playing huge stadiums, full of tens of thousands of people at a time, and to millions of people throughout the duration of a tour who wanted to hear me play music that me and my mates wrote, i'd change basses every song. In fact, i'd change batteries in the bass between each song, I'd have every pedal that had been manufactured, sitting around, ready, just in case, and of course a thousand brown M&M's in a brandy glass at every gig. All because i'd be in a world famous rock band playing stadiums, and therefore I'd be able to do that.
 22.
Ah, but who on here would go and see them ;-) Some people on here would claim they could tell if he had a Duracell or Eveready battery in his bass lol.
No, a TRUE bassist claims they can tell what colour the lining of the interior of the instrument's case is, purely by listening. Seriously.
