1. Or what he thinks of slap! (sorry, i'll leave it alone now..)
 2. Slightly diverting away from the original post, all i could think of when he was talking about the name "Tales from the Chateau" was the 12th Man and the name of Richie Benaud's French Vineyard - the wine from there being "Chateau Ver De Floor"..
 3. Yolanda Charles has posted on facebook today, looking for a female singing bass player, UK based, for a world tour with a cool artist. I'm nothing to do with it, i'm just passing on the info i read this morning! Good luck, if it's the thing for you, it sounds like a great gig whatever it is.
 4.
at the wrong gig? Cue Youtube video
No, I think he moved to Asia, wears women's clothes, plays along to manga soundtracks and drinks a lot of milk.
 5. Yeah, true. I did like what I heard though, a nice thing to wake up to though!
 6. Nice to see the BBC giving some premium airtime tojazz related bass!
 7.
Maybe BC could do those rubber wrist bands (like the lance armstrong Livestrong ones) and only sell to BCers with any profit going to charity?
Another good idea, i'm in. Should we go down this route, does anyone know about how to source / obtain custom wristbands?
 8.
....and shout "TIM!" every few minutes like a nervous tic type thing. Truckstop
9. Why not do a machine gun style blistering slap bass solo, far too loud, in the wrong key and with no rhythm in the middle of a ballad and then give the audience a knowing wink? Or the plain white badge on the strap sounds good....
 10.
Ouch! Good job I love my RH450 and it's not going anywhere anytime soon
Bah! Spoilsport!
 11.
Certainly there are no shops that fit the bill, IME. And if there were, we'd just be bitching about idiot, sniffy salespeople... Ain't BC grand? And the daffodils are out and the sun is shining. I shall skip naked through the top meadow in pagan celebration of all things good.
I'll stick to a hot bovril and a good book for my personal celebration!
 12. Ah, ok thanks. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and when it comes to money i'd only really trust cheque (once the money has cleared), bank transfer (very quick and easy these days) and good old fashioned cash. I use paypal to buy stuff on line all the time but a couple of times weird things have happened and the money has taken AGES to clear which has made me look untrustworthy and me feeling cautious about it being reliable 100% of the time.
 13.
A bad idea, by the sounds of it.
14. Ah, a great pedal. I regret selling mine, but i rarely used it! Bump.
 15.
Mostly had good experiences on here, only issue has been when I've put something on hold for several weeks until someone got paid, only to have them change their mind. Which is frustrating. The worst experience I've had was on ebay, where I "sold" a guitar to a guy and his paypal payment came through as an e-cheque... after a couple of days of him complaining and assuring me that the problem was at my end, it turned out it was his fault. He then hassled me for the next two weeks to send the guitar before the e-cheque cleared (all £600 of it) because he was going home to Poland to record and wanted to use this guitar ("you want me to send the guitar before you've paid it... and you're leaving the country?"). Of course, in the end his e-cheque bounced.
Please excuse my ignorance, but what's an e-cheque? I've not heard of them before.
 16. TC electronic has posted "Bass players, get ready to rumble! We brought something sleek and powerful with us to Musikmesse Frankfurt. ;-)" on Farcebook, i can't imagine what it'll be.....
 17. I also, have a flawless record for my transactions on here, i personally like to help out as much as i can when i'm selling as I believe what goes around, comes around. (to the point that i've sent a mislaid box & also instructions on several weeks later for something i've sold). One rather amusing sale was when i contacted the potential buyer, who turned out to be a mate of mine and neither of us really realised it was us until i dialled his number and his name came up on my phone.
 18. What would one class as being a "timewaster" as opposed to being unsure and then deciding against it?
 19.
that sounds like good news for those looking to buy a RH450 second hand!
Such as me!
 20.
You would do a lot worse than perusing Project Gutenberg, hundreds of free (as in outside of copyright) books to download in Kindle format....
That's a handy site, thanks. I was given a kindle by my lovely wife for Valentine's day, a great gift as far as I'm concerned! I've already scanned and PDF'd most of the music books, documents, music & scales that i use at home so i have access to them when i'm away. 99% of the time they've transferred quite well onto the Kindle, but occasionally they don't work as the print is too small or i've been a bit slap-dash with my scanning. I'm interested to see if anyone does find any good results / answers for this. There was a thread quite a while back which had a link to a site with LOADS of music / tuition / transcription books on it, blatantly flouting any copyright and probably utterly illegal, but a "friend of a friend" has put them on his kindle and they work really well.
 21.
Mark at Bassdirect says he'll have the TC Blacksmith in next week and the RH750's the week after apparently :-) I feel a shopping trip coming on...
Sweet, me too!
 22.
For true lightbulb shattering action (the bass that was in use at the time)
O I C! TYVM.
 23.
Don't forget the ACG
ACG?
 24. Whereabouts in lanc are you? Possibly interested in the cab and I'll be up that way in a few weeks if it's still available then.
