  1. I've just recently found out that the singer from Filter is the brother of Robert Patrick, the T1000 in Terminator 2! A couple for me are......James Gang. I hate The Eagles and always assumed they'd sound pretty similar, so never gave them a listen. Funk #49 popped up on a Spotify playlist though and I was hooked. I watched the sound of metal on Amazon the other day (which is well worth checking out, even if you're not a metal fan), it's loosely based on a US band called Jucifer that have been out since the late 90s. Cracking noisy stuff!
  2. I was looking for something similar just after Christmas and ended up getting my paws on a solidgoldfx beta and a catalinbread SFT. Really digging both of them and would recommend checking them out if you get a chance
  3. I certainly did! Been meaning to report back on it for a while, but wanted to to bed it in first. It was in desperate need of a setup and clean when I got it, but now that all that has been sorted, it's an absolute dream boat! It's the first short scale I have owned/played and I have to say it's very easy to pick up and get around the neck. It kind of felt a bit like a toy bass at first, but in a good way. Compared to my Ric and P it's light as a feather, the body is pretty thin too and it's comfy to play both sitting and standing. Neck dive has never bothered me on any bass, but a decent suede backed strap keeps it fairly minimal. I use it to play in my blues band and if you're after a fat, warm, round tone then you can't go too wrong with it. I just can't wait to play it with a band or actually at a gig (hopefully they're a thing that will still happen!!).
  4. I checked the serial number on this site and it tells you where it was built...... https://www.guitarinsite.nl/serienummers-epiphone_eng.php I'm not sure about other runs, but I think the Peerless ones start with an R.
  5. I didn't find the neck dive to be so bad, I used a suede backed strap and it stayed in place fine. The body shape, thickness and finding a comfortable playing position took a bit more getting used to though. I wouldn't put those down as negatives against the bass, more something you have to be aware of and be open to adjusting to when playing it.
  6. Fingers crossed, it's not too long. It can't come soon enough, it's a great pub too and we love it!
  7. It was our pleasure, we had a great time and you guys were superb! Hahaha, we kept on getting told off for trying to stand and boogie so had to perfect chair dancing 😂😂 Hopefully it won't be too long before pubs can open (wishful thinking maybe!!?!) and we can see you again!!
  8. Ahh, amazing! I saw you at the Wonder in Enfield a few months ago when you guys played outside. We were the table making all the noise!! Really enjoyed it man!!
  9. That's lovely, the burst looks fantastic
  10. This! Always go for the 24hr option and avoid weekends, that way your bass won't be getting stepped on or stored upside down in a warehouse for a few days. I've just sent a couple of basses out and couldn't find anyone who would insure for damage, they'd only insure for loss. I was a bit worried at first, having heard all of the horror stories, but I chose Parcelforce in the end and the basses turned up next day, in good condition, from what I heard (IE - the box wasn't smashed with footprints all over it). I looked at a few other couriers, but DPD wouldn't take it due to a size restriction and all others seemed expensive in comparison. I recently used DPD to ship an amp as well though and that went ahead OK too.
  11. I used DHL to send my pedal to Ireland, so they could be worth a look?
  12. Yeah, it is! It's hard finding a shop that has both available to buy anywhere near me anyway, so even if places were open I'd be hard push to A/B them. There is an SG for sale not a million miles away though so I may go pick it up try it out over the weekend 😁
  13. I guess it comes down to looks and if I want the warm round mush of the SG, or the option of added bite in the DC..... I may have an update for you over the weekend 😏
  14. True - and a setup is so personal that it doesn't make sense to spend too much time/money on it, seeing as tastes differ so much. I love shops that offer a setup after you've bought a bass, it's just a nice touch. I would have thought someone would have checked it over just to make sure it was at least in some way playable before it was shipped out though. I've never been in a shop and picked up a bass with saddles all over the place that buzzed loads though 😵
  15. I saw the 2014 & 15 came with the Babicz as standard and wondered why they stopped doing that. It seems the bridge is one of the first things people change, so you would have thought the upgrade would've stuck around. Thanks for that clip, lovely playing and the bass sounds great! Is there any reason you both went for the hipshot bridge over the babicz? The neck measurements on both look pretty similar, but I can find anything that mentions the depth. Are either of them chunky in the hand?
  16. Looks lovely next to that Lakland! I'm a bit surprised it turned up like that and would have hoped someone at the factory or Andertons would have picked it up. Stil, glad you're happy with it after the wait and hope you enjoy playing it!!
  17. I have a G&L JB Tribute that is worth a look. I picked it up for £320 last year and it's a fantastic bass. G&L's have been creeping up in price since though and they're about £450 now. The Sire's Mudpup suggested are def worth a look too.
  18. There should be a drool emoji for that list!
  19. Is there anyone out there that's owned both and can shed some light on the differences in neck/feel/overall quality etc? Or even if you've owned one of them I'd be keen to hear your opinions on them please. Essentially, I've sold a few bits and pieces over the last couple of weeks and made some room for another bass, so would like some help deciding where the money goes 😁. I'll end up whacking some flats on it and using it for a blues band in rotation with a P. At the minute I'm leaning toward the SG, mostly because its got that humbucker right up under the bridge (even though I hear the modern SG's aren't quite as thumpy and muddy as the old EB3's) and I'm a sucker for their looks. Has anyone cured their neck dive? I used to have an Epiphone EB3 and moving the strap pin helped the dive on that a bit, but not loads, so I'm guessing a new bridge and tuners could be the complete cure? Thanks!
  20. He's just trying to protect his legacy and taking Bach what is rightfully his..... 😏
  21. I'm looking forward to the pictures already!!
  22. I just did the same for a pedal I sent to Ireland and can imagine it'd soon become tiresome!!
