  1. Amazing pedal that delivers the most aggro tones possible, it's an always on for me - glws!!
  2. Ahhhhhhh, I've gone and misread the auction....... Thought the seller wanted £250, or an offer near there for it. Beers and ebay shopping don't mix that well 😂
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284087220010 Anyone near Leeds fancy this??
  4. That £250 difference comes down a bit when you think that the Vintera comes with a gig bag that you'd have to fork out for if you bought a Player Series. I like the look of the 70s jazz because I'm a fan of block inlays, narrow frets, a gloss neck and 70s pup spacing. If those are important to you then it's probably worth the extra dosh.
  5. I can't wait to play loud again. Managed to get a couple of practices in between the lockdown, but really want to make some noise!! The amp sounded great for the 10 mins I played around with it, so I'm sure you've got a good'un! Yep, felt like a right knob when I asked the guy what I was doing wrong and he just said I needed to turn the amp on. To be fair, he said it happens a lot so I'm sure it's a wind up the shop staff have fun with!! 😂
  6. Ohhhh, keen to know how you get on with it once you can crank it. I've obly played through one in a shop when trying out a Sire jazz. It's pretty confusing that a light comes on when it's not actually turned on..........left me scrambling around, checking leads and volume pots for about 5 mins before finally asking someone in the shop what I was doing wrong??!? 😂
  7. I've managed to pick up a few bits....... Quilter BB800, G&L tribute JB, Epiphone Jack Casady, EHX Soul Food & TC Forcefield. I haven't shifted anything on yet, but will do some rejigging in the new year 😁
  8. The Gipsy Kings version of Hotel California tops the original for me. It's not often I think anyone can beat Hendrix, but SRV's covers of Little Wing and Voodoo Child are just amazing.

    PJ conundrum

Bound neck and blocks does it for me too, as does the machine heads and more traditional look of the Lakky.
  10. Just seen that Wunjo's have a sale on at the mo. 10% off orders over £200, if anyone fancies a new lockdown pressie... https://www.wunjoguitars.com/
  11. The surf green one looks pretty tasty. I've seen a FSR pink bronco that looks nice too. We might get some luck in the Jan sales!! My Ric isn't the most contoured and I don't find that uncomfortable, the DC doesn't look to be that thick so I'm half hoping it won't be an issue. The other half of me wants to save the money though!!
  12. Ah, I'm finding the same with my Epiphone Jack Casady. The comfiest way I've found to play it is to hang it fairly low and have my arm through the dip just before the top horn. If it's not so comfy it could be good news though seeing as it's the most expensive of the 3!! 😂
  13. Gah! Fingers crossed they turn up a bit sooner!!!
  14. Well.......... Has it turned up yet? Just seen they're not in stock until mid Dec, but did your order sneak in before their last batch sold out?
  15. Only because I've never played/owned one, I wouldn't mind adding a short scale to the collection. Or at least having a look at a few, I mean what's the worst that can happen? Current contenders are the........ Squier Classic Vibe Mustang. G&L Tribute Fallout. Gibson DC Jnr.
  16. Tronographic Rusty Box for my noisy band EHX Soul Food for my blues band
  17. Very good shout! A couple of mates have signed up for it and say its pretty good.
  18. Whenever I get the calling to the dark side I always find.... Paul David's.... https://www.youtube.com/c/PaulDavids And Marty Schwartz.... https://www.youtube.com/c/MartyMusic https://www.youtube.com/user/martyzsongs Pretty handy. I mean, I can't play for toffee, but this is more down to my own confusion about those extra 2 strings rather than anything negative about these guys 😂
  19. Very nice, love the gold scratch plate. There is something about a P and everyone should own one. I was quite anti them for a while and had a couple that I never really gelled with, thought they were a boring choice. Then I picked one up for a blues band, fell in love with it and saw what I was missing!! Have fun with it 😃
  20. If it's an essential riff, fill I like or main part of the song then I try to get it note for note. Otherwise I just get the feel of the song and fill in/make up the dots as I go along. A track on a record is kinda like a photograph of a song, so it'll be the same everytime you hear it. I can't think of any bands I've seen live where everything was played note for note though. If the recording artist doesn't have to stick to the rules then I don't see why I have to 😁
  21. Ah, it'd be nice if it was!! Can you remember any dings/marks/serial number etc??
  22. There is something about the gold top that suits it rather nicely and it's lovely to look at. I may be biased, but I reckon you should definitely think again!! I've found it pretty comfy to play so far, but thats mostly sitting down - should hopefully be jamming sometime this week so will give it a go standing up for a few hours. The tones you can get out of it are superb, really digging using it for blues!!
  23. I've yet to find something that doesn't sound nice through these cabs to be honest! It's a bit overkill with the Quilter for home use, but my practice amp has been at work in the office since March, so it's the only setup I have (unless I want to use headphones). I've paired it with a EHX soul food and I can a lovely warm thud out of it. Very pleased so far. Hopefully I can avoid some wall papering and have another play this arvo!!
  24. One of these came up near me at a good price and I just couldn't resist! I've heard all the positive feedback they get here, and on TB, so GAS curiosity got the better of me. Its a 2005 from the Peerless factory and is in pretty good shape apart from the odd ding here and there. I've been playing it for the past few hours and it produces quite the lovely mwamp with flats on it 😁
  25. OK, so we're looking for a new bass rather than used and preferably 2 pups? In which case, I would look at....... Musicman Sterling Sub, or whatever they're called. I've never played one so can't say anything about it, but it does seem to fit what you're after. https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/sterling-by-music-man-sub-ray4-4-string-bass-in-olive Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage Pro. I have a Classic Pro and it's a marvellous bass, I haven't played this new line, but I have heard them and they sound great. https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/epiphone-thunderbird-vintage-pro-bass-in-alpine-white G&L Tribute L2000. The Tribute's seem to have gone up a bit in price recently and I could have sworn these were around the £450 mark back in March - so either hold out for a sale or pick one up before they go up even further. You have tonal variety for days with one of these. https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/g-l-tribute-l-2000-bass-in-3-tone-sunburst-clear-satin-neck-brazilian-cherry-fingerboard-pti-l20-120r20r00-1 Gibson Les Paul DC JNR. This would be my choice - mostly because I really want one myself! It does only have the one pup, but with the coil tap you get a good range of tones to play with. Again, i've seen these in and out of sales over the past year, so if you're patient one might pop up at a decent price - £629 I think is the cheapest I've seen. https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/gibson-usa-les-paul-junior-tribute-dc-bass-blue-stain-chrome-hardware Spending other people's money is fun!
