I saw the 2014 & 15 came with the Babicz as standard and wondered why they stopped doing that. It seems the bridge is one of the first things people change, so you would have thought the upgrade would've stuck around. Thanks for that clip, lovely playing and the bass sounds great! Is there any reason you both went for the hipshot bridge over the babicz? The neck measurements on both look pretty similar, but I can find anything that mentions the depth. Are either of them chunky in the hand?

Absolutely gorgeous 😍😍

Looks lovely next to that Lakland! I'm a bit surprised it turned up like that and would have hoped someone at the factory or Andertons would have picked it up. Stil, glad you're happy with it after the wait and hope you enjoy playing it!!

I have a G&L JB Tribute that is worth a look. I picked it up for £320 last year and it's a fantastic bass. G&L's have been creeping up in price since though and they're about £450 now. The Sire's Mudpup suggested are def worth a look too.

There should be a drool emoji for that list!

Is there anyone out there that's owned both and can shed some light on the differences in neck/feel/overall quality etc? Or even if you've owned one of them I'd be keen to hear your opinions on them please. Essentially, I've sold a few bits and pieces over the last couple of weeks and made some room for another bass, so would like some help deciding where the money goes 😁. I'll end up whacking some flats on it and using it for a blues band in rotation with a P. At the minute I'm leaning toward the SG, mostly because its got that humbucker right up under the bridge (even though I hear the modern SG's aren't quite as thumpy and muddy as the old EB3's) and I'm a sucker for their looks. Has anyone cured their neck dive? I used to have an Epiphone EB3 and moving the strap pin helped the dive on that a bit, but not loads, so I'm guessing a new bridge and tuners could be the complete cure? Thanks!

He's just trying to protect his legacy and taking Bach what is rightfully his..... 😏 -
I'm looking forward to the pictures already!!

I just did the same for a pedal I sent to Ireland and can imagine it'd soon become tiresome!!

It wasn't that long in the whole grand scheme of things, the biggest delay was probably them actually shipping it. I think I placed the order on Jan 2nd, but only got a notification it was sent on the 6th, which isn't so bad considering holidays and the likely back log etc. It turned up on the morning of the 11th.

Did they used to be RicsRUs? If so, I bought my 4003 from them in the early 2000's and would trust them.

I thought it may have been filled at first, but looking at it again, it looks as if there's a screw head sticking out above the body on the left hand side. The 2 outer screws of the bridge that's on it are missing too. I wonder if that bridge is sitting on top of the original screws and screwed into the body?? It'd still probably be a better design than the original 3 point Gibson Bridge....... 😂

It was pretty tempting, I could have collected it and have just sold 2 basses (so in my mind I'm allowed to buy a bass at the mo 😂), but I think I have my heart set on a Gibson shorty. Would have been quite nice to keep as is (partly because I'm sure my efforts at repair would have made it worse!) as long as everything worked. Could have been like a rat bass. Does anyone know what may have happened with the original bridge holes? Looks like they may have been filled?

Did anyone here get it in the end?

Great to hear and really useful feedback as I have 2 basses to ship out so will give interparcel a go. I also just sent an amp up to Edinburgh through DPD. It weighted about 17kg by the time you added the rack case and layers of underlay I wrapped it in, but turned up in good condition and the next day, so they seem to be worth a look through my experience.

I got a pedal from DV247 and didn't get charged and VAT was a separate line on my invoice and in the cart. Maybe mine snuck through or there's some sort of threshold before customs look at it? VAT looks to have been applied to the neck though?

No worries 😃 That Aria is nice looking too. I like that it's horns are ever so slightly pointier, like the Ibanez artcore range

There's one of them for sale in Sheffield if you're keen... https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKBassgear/permalink/2149525221847468/?sale_post_id=2149525221847468

Yep, there was VAT on a separate line of the invoice and at checkout

So, after going through the various threads on the ins and outs of buying from the EU there were a few different opinions on what'll happen when you buy stuff. I was definitely confused. Anyway, I decided to buy a pedal and see what happens, so I bought from DV247 and the pedal was shipped from their warehouse in Germany. It arrived today, with fairly minimal delay and no extra charges. Whether that was because they have a UK shop, or if it means there won't be any charge from other EU sellers I don't know. Just thought I'd share in case anyone was wondering about buying from them and wasn't sure about charges etc.

No idea what the shipping situation is like now and it's not sunburst, but...... https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hb_60_wb.htm?o=63&search=1610316926

What sort of budget are you looking at? And does it have to be the same sort of shape? I haven't played them, but have heard good things about the Hofner Ignition series.

White Room by Cream. I've got the studio version down and am just noodling around with a live version now.
