  1. Yeah, sound wise there will be a step back, but I’m not looking for top notch sound, just something to blend in with what i hear in the room. Comfort is much more important for me, at least at this stage. The ZS10 just seem to hang out of my ear. Because my ears are quite flat the body doesnt touch the ear, so although the foam tips mean they wont fall, there is a slight pulling on them. Ive been wearing them since the last post and i just cant get used to them. Obviously at this stage custom is not an option.
  2. Quick question. In reference to my above comments about size, does anyone have any experience with the MEE M6-Pro? Ive just seen a review and it came out well stocked up against the KZ range. Loads of tips and two cables etc.
  3. I ended up getting a Gear4music version of the P2. It costs £5 less and seems identical. I also got a set of INAIRS but i ordered the wrong size. The new ones arrived this morning. I first tried my Sen HD25’s with the P2 and i think these will be used rather than the AT M50x’s, as they have a bit more mid. Plenty of volume and I’m used to hearing these. Then i tried the ZS10 Pro’s….WOW!!!!. Totally different sound to headphones, but i feel they sound much closer to a PA. I’m definitely going to give these ago on Monday at rehearsals as well. There is a noticeable hiss, but thats to be expected as I’m feeding a headphone amp from a headphone amp and they are very open sounding. I cant hear it with my headphones but the band will cover ti up anyway. My only reservations are that i might not hear the band talking if ive got them in (and they spend more time talking about why the songs fell apart than playing) and as they are foam tips its not quite as easy putting them back in, but a minor negative and at least they stay in. I’ll probably use headphones more for now. The second worry is ill be cut off from hearing how i sound in the PA. At rehearsals that will be controllable as they point towards me, and i dotn really need to make too many adjustments as I’m used to this PA now, but at gigs ill be worried I’m too loud etc. I guess i have quite a bit of time to get used to that though. In fact ive not gigged on keys yet anyway (at least not in this decade) so its going to be a new experience all round. I can say I’m now onboard with IEM’s though. Ill have ot buy my own before we gig though. I wish there were smaller versions of these. My ears are very flat so these stick out quite a bit. I also need to get a decent cable. The one’s I’m using at the moment do have an upgraded cable, but its a bit stiff and I’d prefer more like a headphone cable. So thats two of us in the band, 3 more to go.
  4. No problem re the PM. I was thinking of using my M50x’s with a P2, or even my small Bose on ears, and i have no issues with that for rehearsals, but not sure about gigs. I had a pair of DT770’s last year but didnt get on with them. My ears were sweating too much, even with just home use. I dont want to block the band out as such, although i know i wont with anything i use anyway, but do want an easy way of take it them out and in. I love memory from tips, but they arent quite as convenient as silicon. I just want to hear myself better, and have a nicer tone than a monitor can get. The reason i was thinking IEM’s was really because we have some here already. Thought it might be a cheap way of getting used to them before i need to use them seriously, or go off the idea without spending money on it. It might also help convince the others to think about it. Then again…gigs? 😁
  5. Its taken me a while but ive finally decided i need to use IEM’s. Now I’m playing keys I don’t need the speaker behind me like i did with bass. I recently got a powered DBR12 for monitoring but even that is getting a bit drowned out by the band at rehearsals. Could be because I’m right on top of it though. The other factor is the PA is now in stereo at the studio, which means i want to start using it again as I’m not keen on mono. Ive been playing with my GF’s ZS10 Pros this morning, and while they sound good, the right ear still wont stay in. Ive ordered a 3 pack of the INAIRS to try and get a better fit before buying my own IEM’s. I was very tempted to get some Sure 215’s, as they seem like they might be a better fit, with them having less weight and smaller mass. I know they won’t sound the same so will give the ZS10’s a go first. Its funny though but I actually prefer the tone of the cheap ones she got from G4M with her SubZero system, as they sound more like headphones than the much clearer ZS10’s, which to me sound more like monitors. I know the ZS10’s will work better in a live environment though, as they will need to be turned up less. This is only for me so ill get a Behringer P2 and run it from the headphone out of my keyboard. As long as its in stereo I’m not fused about wireless for now. Just need to remember not to walk away from the keyboard without disconnecting first lol. Thanks again to Russ for all that helpful info. Will read it a few times over the next few days.
  6. Well i am £21 lighter because of you, but i feel i got off lightly lol, I’d never heard of Andrew Sheps or the Omni channel before you mentioned them. I did see it in the list but as CB has she a good channel strip already i didnt pay any attention to it. After downloading the demo last night and having a play, I ended up using it on 3 tracks (Bass, vocals and lead guitar). As you say, its a time saver. I had various plugins already loaded but disabled most of them (EQ’s and Comps mainly) and used the Omnibus channel. It seems very easy to use, and for £21 i thought it was worth getting. I’m not sure ill use it all the time, but i love what I’m hearing. My only concern is Cubase has become a bit more unstable since Saturday. This was when i started using Wavs plugins. I’m not saying it’s because of them, but its still a coincidence. Ill keep an eye on things. CB is the most unstable program ive ever used, and can quite easily take my whole PC down without me doing anything with it, so anything that adds to this wont get used.
  7. Thanks very much. Yeah, I was a bit disappointed when she gave me the phone recording but I’ve made the best of it. Luckily Cubase has all the tools to help fix it Still very new to all this but hopefully getting better with each one. Certainly more enjoyable than playing with the band at the moment.
  8. I’ve not gotten in to 3rd party really. I wouldn’t know what the differences are between them all without looking them up and being told what it is. Even then id struggle to decide what to use. So far still working my way through the stock plugins and even fInding them overwhelming so far.
  9. Noooooo, you always get me to buy stuff, and now ive gone and looked at that.......😁 ill give the demo a go tonight and see how useful it will be. I did get the demo of CLA Vocals but didnt find much, or anything, i couldn't do already.
  10. Blimey, you were spot on with the emails. Ive had to put a block on them already. I really do want to stick with the stock plugins, and cant really see anything missing from them, and ive not got to the point where i find i want something with a different colour etc, but i couldn’t find anything like Vocal Rider and i figured it would be a good time saver for £21.
  11. A song ive always loved, so when we found a singer who wanted to record it i jumped at the chance. We hit a snag as the singer didnt have any recording gear. She ended up singing in to her phone in her basement. Dont think it sounds too bad though. Me playing all keys and bass.
  12. I didn’t realise that. I made a promise to myself to stick with the stock Cubase plugins for as long as I cold, but after seeing Vocal Rider in action i wanted it. It was very expensive when i first looked so didnt think any more of it until today.
  13. Just a heads up, they have 20 of them for $29.99 each. I just got Vocal Rider for £21. Which is a bargain IMO. Most places seem to have them for this so it might not be exclusive for this weekend after all, but still a good bargain. https://www.waves.com/best-sellers#sort:path~type~order=.default-order~number~asc|views:view=grid-view|paging:currentPage=0|paging:number=20
  14. Nice one. My all time fav pedal, and especially this version of it. Just be careful with that Blend knob when playing with a band. A lot of people have it full up and complain they dont like the tone, but having it around 10 o’clock is a much better setting IME. I actually stopped using mine (probably would have started using it again) when i got my Rumble 800 head, as i felt it wasnt needed anymore. In the past ive used it always on with every head ive had, but especially Markbass heads which needed a bit of warming up. The Rumble seemed to not need it as much, at least not as an always on. When i was using a Helix i used to have the BDDI sim on by default with every patch. Enjoy 👍
  15. I always go with the rest of the band, otherwise i look silly standing there on stage on my own 😂
  16. The crossover point changes when you rotate the dial on the BB2, as well as making the tweeter louder. So the way i understand it is there will be less high end going through the woofer with the tweeter full on, rather than just making the tweeter louder....or something like that.
  17. Shame about the cab. I’m not surprised with your findings. Sounds like you were almost there. I felt the same about the low end with my BB2 going to a cab with a bit more driver area, although that was only a 1x15. A small step up, but a step up none the less. I sort of get the metallic thing. I felt i heard something similar with my mates 1x12, but put that down to it being a lot brighter than his usual rigs and me sitting in front of it, plus it had an amp i wasn’t familiar with in it. Reminded me of those old SWR combo’s.
  18. I get the impression these cabs are basically Amazon boxes covered with stick on CF mouse matts 😂. It seems to me some manufacturers are pushing the boundaries of certain aspects of cab design, but at the cost of other aspects. Finding the acceptable balance seems to be a sport these days.
  19. Have you used your cab yet Bas? I can’t see any comments or the usual photos you put up when you get new gear. How does it compare the BB2 in your eyes/ears?
  20. For anyone thats interested.
  21. Forgot to say, i had the chance to play through this 1x12 combo a couple of weekends ago. I didn’t get the change to lift so no idea how heavy it is, but it sounded very clear and strong in my mates living room. It was next to two small Ashdown rigs, one of them a tube head, and although ti sounded less authoritative than the other two, it took the Ampeg preamp pedal much better. Its a very cool combo, especially with the lights on the top. Edited to say small, not smaller Ashdown rigs.
  22. I've gigged all of those. The main thing i took from those experiences was i too prefer 2x12 and the CN212 blew the others away. In fact my longest lasting cab was my old Schroeder 1212L. I should add I went directly from the F112 to the CN212, with the same head, bass and band, that to me that's a good way to test them. then again, i went from a TCE RS212 to the F112. Go figure lol. The BB2 was a few years ago, but it was was a bit 'meh'. I'd take the F112 over the BB2, although the F112 is a bit heavy, so maybe not.
  23. Cant help with the second, although i did have my Yamaha FC7 working ok with it just before i sold it. The volume difference can be one of many things. Each amp sim has a gain and master volume, IIR so do the cabs, then you have the various levels in the other blocks in the chain. You could just adjust the level in output block (last section on the right) to level them up without changing the gain staging between the blocks.
  24. Live on YouTube if anyone is interested
  25. Same here. I have a thread somewhere about them. I really, really wanted to like the DT770’s, and i did for a while, but just as I’d decided i was going to keep them, they started hurting my temple, and I realise i was sweating quite a bit due to them being so comfortable and snug. I just think they weren’t liking my head shape. I also found them quite neutral. This was what i was looking for, but found them a bit too flat and I wasnt enjoying recorded music through them. I ended up getting a pair of M50X’s, sent them back, then brought another pair lol. But, congrats Ped. They are an industry standard so you cant go wrong with them as long as they are comfortable.
