I didn’t realise that. I made a promise to myself to stick with the stock Cubase plugins for as long as I cold, but after seeing Vocal Rider in action i wanted it. It was very expensive when i first looked so didnt think any more of it until today.

Nice one. My all time fav pedal, and especially this version of it. Just be careful with that Blend knob when playing with a band. A lot of people have it full up and complain they dont like the tone, but having it around 10 o’clock is a much better setting IME. I actually stopped using mine (probably would have started using it again) when i got my Rumble 800 head, as i felt it wasnt needed anymore. In the past ive used it always on with every head ive had, but especially Markbass heads which needed a bit of warming up. The Rumble seemed to not need it as much, at least not as an always on. When i was using a Helix i used to have the BDDI sim on by default with every patch. Enjoy 👍

The crossover point changes when you rotate the dial on the BB2, as well as making the tweeter louder. So the way i understand it is there will be less high end going through the woofer with the tweeter full on, rather than just making the tweeter louder....or something like that.

Shame about the cab. I’m not surprised with your findings. Sounds like you were almost there. I felt the same about the low end with my BB2 going to a cab with a bit more driver area, although that was only a 1x15. A small step up, but a step up none the less. I sort of get the metallic thing. I felt i heard something similar with my mates 1x12, but put that down to it being a lot brighter than his usual rigs and me sitting in front of it, plus it had an amp i wasn’t familiar with in it. Reminded me of those old SWR combo’s.

I get the impression these cabs are basically Amazon boxes covered with stick on CF mouse matts 😂. It seems to me some manufacturers are pushing the boundaries of certain aspects of cab design, but at the cost of other aspects. Finding the acceptable balance seems to be a sport these days.

Have you used your cab yet Bas? I can’t see any comments or the usual photos you put up when you get new gear. How does it compare the BB2 in your eyes/ears?

Forgot to say, i had the chance to play through this 1x12 combo a couple of weekends ago. I didn’t get the change to lift so no idea how heavy it is, but it sounded very clear and strong in my mates living room. It was next to two small Ashdown rigs, one of them a tube head, and although ti sounded less authoritative than the other two, it took the Ampeg preamp pedal much better. Its a very cool combo, especially with the lights on the top. Edited to say small, not smaller Ashdown rigs.

I've gigged all of those. The main thing i took from those experiences was i too prefer 2x12 and the CN212 blew the others away. In fact my longest lasting cab was my old Schroeder 1212L. I should add I went directly from the F112 to the CN212, with the same head, bass and band, that to me that's a good way to test them. then again, i went from a TCE RS212 to the F112. Go figure lol. The BB2 was a few years ago, but it was was a bit 'meh'. I'd take the F112 over the BB2, although the F112 is a bit heavy, so maybe not.

Cant help with the second, although i did have my Yamaha FC7 working ok with it just before i sold it. The volume difference can be one of many things. Each amp sim has a gain and master volume, IIR so do the cabs, then you have the various levels in the other blocks in the chain. You could just adjust the level in output block (last section on the right) to level them up without changing the gain staging between the blocks.

Same here. I have a thread somewhere about them. I really, really wanted to like the DT770’s, and i did for a while, but just as I’d decided i was going to keep them, they started hurting my temple, and I realise i was sweating quite a bit due to them being so comfortable and snug. I just think they weren’t liking my head shape. I also found them quite neutral. This was what i was looking for, but found them a bit too flat and I wasnt enjoying recorded music through them. I ended up getting a pair of M50X’s, sent them back, then brought another pair lol. But, congrats Ped. They are an industry standard so you cant go wrong with them as long as they are comfortable.

Cheers Ped. I dont to come across as a CHIS (sorry, got that stuck in my head at the moment lol). I’m talking about those who buy to sell, then sell on here and other places. Definitely not a just gear head’s with high pass though. I thought one or two might be so obvious it was just allowed for a certain reason, thats really why I’m asking. Ive no idea if they have web based shops or not. Wouldn't surprise me if they did though.

Ive noticed a few, but one in particular that posts basses for sale on a regular basis in the classifieds. My question is what constitutes a dealer and a private seller? Ive not got a problem with it as such, just wondering what the difference is.

Probably the last time i brought something in Denmark street 😂 It is a shame to see it like that though. There are still a few shops on the other side but not any of the ones I used to visit, other than Rose Morris, and even that looks nothing like it used to.

Another song I’d never heard of until we decided to record it. The singers choice. This is all me other than the vocals and Acoustic guitar (inc solo), plus drums were from a midi file. First time ive picked a guitar up for a long time, and first time its been recorded.

What I meant was, seeing as the Helix has a dedicated headphone out, with amp sims etc, hooking up a IEM system in to that seems to be pointless.

Good points, and ill add that powered speakers seem to be smaller and easier to aim up than a more boxy type of bass cab. Most also tend to have two channels which is handy for feeding the instrument and the feed from a PA in to it.

I’ve done loads of gigs with just a 1x12. Never struggled to get heard, but something about a little cab that barely reaches waist height just seems not very satisfying to my eye.
