1. That looks fantastic! It seems very well priced, especially with the plek set-up. I would go for it but I'm off on hols next week! Best of luck with the sale.
2. This one sold a while ago! Please delete mods!
3. All access, electric blue, MAG, ABM are Chineese made. ABM and MAG were originally made in the UK but now only Classic and the new all valve range will come from these shores!
4. There will probably be a new version launched at Frankfurt next month so it might be worth holding on to see what Fender do to the model.
5. I'm heading up to London to put this into the Gallery for £1199. For tonight I'm going to take it down to £1049! Let me know if anyone is interested!
6. Thanks for the interest but I am more looking for a cash buyer or a potential trade for a new amp head.
7. Sadowsky Metro MV4- Transparent white, Maple Board, VTC fitted. As much as I love this bass I’ve realised I really haven’t played it properly for about 6 months so I may as well turn it back into cash and dig myself out of my overdraft. It’s approximately 2 1/2 years since I bought it new from Alex at the Bass gallery. He said it had appeared in a review in a UK guitar magazine but I don’t remember exactly which one. It easily sounded the best out of the 6 or 7 metro basses they had at the time. Since owning it I have gigged it maybe 50 times and used it for a fair amount of recording and practice. It has not been abused, or mistreated, this is a beautifully made instrument and I have done my best to keep it in top order. This is a really light bass too, I don’t have the means to weigh it buts at least 3lbs lighter than my Fender Jazz. Description There is minimal fret wear with at least another 3 years of regular playing before it should need a fret dress. All the tuners are geared fine with no problems with tuning stability. The back of the neck has a smooth satin finish which has become softer after a couple years of playing. It has no marks or dents anywhere on the neck front or back. It does have two indentations on the end of the headstock caused by an errant cymbal on a very small and dark stage! It’s clearly visible in the pics. It has the VTC which I had retrofitted last year to take it up to the current spec of Metro basses. Everything works fine with the electronics with no issues, scratchy pots, etc. To those who don’t know the circuit it’s Volume, blend, passive tone (pull for eq bypass) and stacked bass and treble boost. The passive mode sounds great and is a fairly equal volume balance compared to active so it’s totally useable. It is set up with D’addario 45-105 Nickel wound strings with a fresh set on the bass. It has a few very minor dings on the body which I will detail. All the dings are tiny knocks in the top layer of lacquer with no heavy clunk marks. You can only see them when you hold the bass at the right angle in direct light. There is a little ding on the very top side of the bass about 3cm back from the strap button. Its approx 1cm long. If you really look at the back of bass it has some very minor buckle marks but you have to really be looking for them. When you touch the back of the body you cant feel any indentations at all. The most visible is a scratch about 2 cm long about 6 inches above the control cavity. Again this is only in the clear lacquar and does not go through to the wood. It comes with the original Sadowsky Foam lightweight case which has stayed in the house since I bought it. When moving it around I have used a Levy’s gigbag as it’s a little easier when walking with it than the rectangular Sadowsky case. I have used it for most of the recordings you can listen to here: www.myspace.com/heightsuk in particular try Balancing equations, Diabolos, Cryptozoologists field day. Price wise I am looking for £1049 for this bass. If this bass doesn’t sell on here I am going to put it into the bass gallery at a higher price to take into account their commission. I can accept cash, cheque or Paypal. I am located near Reading town centre and buyers are welcome to inspect the bass and try it through an amp. I may consider trades for Aguilar AG500 + cash or Mesa M Pulse 600. I can ship the bass through UK mail, insured UK shipping is around £20 and it will be thoroughly packaged to survive the rigours of the journey! I have sold goods on here before with good feedback. I shifted my PJB Bass Buddy and also a Korg multi effects not too long ago. Any questions please ask away, I always try to check back here every night. Send me a PM or reply on this thread. Ta! Jonno.
8. I had a streamer Jazzman and I'm pretty sure it was a maple top/swamp ash back instrument. Is yours 100% ovankgol body as that would make it a custom order bass??
9. its going to street over 4k........ Be wary of a big price increase coming up from Warwick too.............
10. On the off chance it was my band - www.myspace.com/heightsuk but probably not - there arent many instrumental prog rock fans around!!
11. Same pics as this auction http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electro-Acoustic-Bas...=item53deac5887 which is a little dodge but it doesnt scream fraud to me. Maybe just clarify the one you are bidding on IS the one in the pics. Bear in mind its only laminated rosewood back and sides so it will not have the crucial whiff of rosewood! The seller has huge amounts of feedback and its a good £150 saving on a new one. If its a shop I would ask for the number and speak directly to them, its generally possible to get an idea if its dodgey or not just with a 5 minute conversation.
12. The little bastard has probably been made as a compliment to the Hayden line (Ashdowns sister company for guitarists) 30 watt all valve head which is called the Mofo! So you can have a motherf****r or a bastard. Excellant!!!! The mofo is a really cool, fun well made head so good things to be expected from this. Its not going to be as loud as an ABM but it should be wicked in the studio or for tiddilly gigs/practices. Cool!
13. Good luck with the sale Marc! It's for all the right reasons and I sincerley hope you get the best price for this awesome gear. If anyone has yet to hear the Hellborg rig then you are mega missing out. It's REALLY something special.
14. Ta very much and likewise to Stu! Very friendly chap and an easy transaction too! Enjoy the Korg
15. Provisionally sold! Edit was £100 then £90 plus shipping, now £85 inc UK shipping! Up for grabs is this Bass multi effects processor. I bought it as a headphone amp but I have recently got a little Roland Microcube RX which does the job admirably enough for my needs. Everything works with no issues/ no crackly switches or controls. It's been used but has no visible paint chips or dents, all buttons and the expression pedal is absolutely fine. I bought this secondhand earlier this year and really enjoyed using it. The guy who had it before me is someone I have known for quite a while and definitely doesn’t abuse his gear. I have the original box but not the manual, it's a fairly intuitive unit and the manual is available to download online anyway. It has a non original but fully working 9 volt power supply. This unit doesn’t need a very specific PSU so any standard 9 volt, low current adaptor should work fine as well. These seem to be £189-£219 + delivery online so I'm looking for £85. The buyer is welcome to collect from my home or work address in Reading. I can ship using business post for next day service. link to official blurb http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=242 The Korg AX3000B ToneWorks is a bass guitar effects processor which combines signal and effects processing with 72 Amp, Cab, and effects models as well as Korg's unique Expression Step Sequencer in a heavy duty metal chassis with an expression pedal and a backlit LCD screen. 16. A Smith for £130!!!!!!!! It would probably still have been cheap with another 0 at the end! I got a Modulus Flea mint from Reading Crack Converters for £350! Still wish I kept it too
17.
A maple neck would be fantastic but i dont think i like the look of the block inlays on a maple neck as much as i do on a RW. nor do i think the black headstock would look as nice as a maple one. I actually like the look of the White/RE was well. This is what im aiming for (assuming i go for the DJ5).
Cool! Thats a pic of a bass I ordered from the dudepit about 5-6 years ago. This was pre all the various shannighans related to the site of late and at a time when the dollar pound exchange rate made it work out to be around £700. That combination is quite frankly one of the best looking you will ever see on a guitar. Nice bass but I moved it on after going back to 4 strings only. The stock Aero pups were a little quiet for my liking but the neck was ace. I think the newer Lakland pickups have a bigger more rounded tone and are certainly superier to the earlier types they used.
18. I've got a metro MV4 and the feel of the neck has changed massively since I got it about 18 months ago. The finish has softenned up to a very smooth almost shiney feel as if it was partially lacquered. On the back of the headstock where I havent sweated into the neck it feels really rough and sticky in comparison to the rest of the neck. I think they just take a while to break in, if you are used to the feel of a gloss neck then I dont think even with a year or two of playing its going to get like that but they do really change over playing time. I had a couple of stingrays for a few years and never got on with them at all, the neck felt the same after 2 years as it when when new. Sticky and horrible to me. When I got mine it had been in the gallery for a little while and used for a couple of reviews so I dont think it classed as being completely new, it felt much better than the others in the shop when I got it. It might well be worth perservering with it for a bit to see how it changes and you might well be suprised at how much better it gets. If you dont get on with it...... A metro PJ4 is the only bass I am really lusting after at the moment!
19. +1 on Grado quality. I am lucky enough to have a pair of sr225's and they are awesome. Not huge amounts of bass but the sound is so detailed. As soon as I switch to anything else its as if a sheet has been placed between my ears and the music. Nice price!
