1.
Well, that's no good. Only Fender have the secret of how a bass turns from pristine to looking like sh*t in a fortnight.
Yes very funny - I always wanted a tired looking 70s fender but better made with better components than the real thing (cue the bass doc making me one)
2.
Hey Simon, here's another vid with some ideas. I'm pleased I got to rescue the Fender Jazz from you before you went off the rails. ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=o0i-Yz4Cm4A
I'm very glad you're enjoying it- I sold mr g a very nice cream/tort/rosewood mex jazz with copper shielding so its both smooth and non-noisy
3.
Send it to a mate 'return' using 24hr parcelforce!
How true
4. @Fat rich That's very helpful - thanks
5. It's not a genuine fender, its a bitsa painted purposely in nitro to get it to relic quickly, and to be a fair replica. I'm not going to sell it,
6. I would like to, but as I said, real life and responsibilities are intruding on my having-fun time. No band, no gigs, little practice time, much frustration
7.
If you've never done a relic job before the result is likely to be 'variable' at best. Why not get someone to do it for you? http://www.guitarangel.co.uk/servicesDetail.php?Relic-work-10
Thanks - I just wanted to start the ball rolling and break the surface on it.
8.
Why not take some pride in it and look after it instead?
Because I wanted one that would age quickly rather than look like a reissue
9. Just don't want to work on the wrong bit and make it look like those belt sander efforts on eBay
10. Pitch it up one octave
11. Sure I just wanted to start the ball rolling
12. Its a precision, it would survive
13. Thanks to pobrien-ie and iceonaboy for their helpful suggestions
14.
Lots of blingy jewelry?..rings, bracelets should help rough it up
Partner would not approve - she doesn't even like me wearing her underwear (did I type that out loud?)
15.
Keep playing it.
Sadly real life is getting in the way
16. Anyone got any ideas for speeding up the natural wear on my nitro bodied and nitro necked p bass ? Particular fabrics , that kind of thing ? I don't have sandpaper sleeves
17. Bass doc approved of the pickup when he built my bass.
18. I played one of these in PMT Leeds and my precison has the same pickup - very nice
19. Almost tempted just to annoy teenage son with a bass wattage that exceeds his by a very long way
20.
I think he is asking about some kind of joinmyVIRTUALband.com rather than where to publish it ?
Didnt realise sound cloud did collaboration, sorry
21. I think he is asking about some kind of joinmyVIRTUALband.com rather than where to publish it ?
22.
Hey everybody. Ok, so I'm not playing in a band anymore and I'm not able to get out to jam nights for the foreseeable due to having little ones.
this is me also.
