1. I think tonally - it's fine. IMO it sounds like Alder. I find ash has more low mids and is a bit more 'organic' sounding - ash is my preferred body wood. Visually Basswood is very plain and does tend to 'dink' easily. It's seldom used on transparent finishes as the grain is quite boring. My favourite Jazz had a basswood body, but I've just changed the body over to an ash one. You can see/listen to it as it was (basswood) here . . . Col

5.
Thanks Sam, Think very carefully before you part with the Hohner - I've had a few & the last one was a dream to play! - very, very underated Basses!!
Plus one - my first 'keeper' bass until I sold it to Rick Wakeman's cousin!
6. Looks in lovely condition!

8. Welcome dood! Good advert with nice photos - I love Trace heads - used to have an AH300 just like that one. Good luck with the sale!
9.
Depending on the venue in question, I'm always put off by bands that have too big a setup for the size of the room. The tendency is to crank it up but all that ends up happening is that you get this wall of sound where nothing has it's place in a live mix situation, and the vocal gets totally drowned.
With you on that one! Loz - I've a Nemesis 4 x 10 and love it, but for most pub gigs now I just use an old Trace 200w head and an Aguillar DB112 - amazingly loud and deep for something so small! You sorted for a band now? Col
10. Awesome!
11. The bridge is standard. The thumbwheels are 'fine tuners' - totally pointless in my opinion as you can tune the thing easily using the machine heads, however the bridge is very massive and my guess is it contributes to the sound. i have one of these basses - not in as good nick - and it's a really great bass - picked it up for a snip in Crack Convertors. Worth every penny of what's being asked!
12. Bump for pics of the actual bass please!
13. Luthier!
14. Recently separated from the wife - it's very messy. And it's all the fault of me being a bass player that has pulled . . . . I'd give anything to be able to wind the clock back a few years
15.
What is the exact weight (lbs) of the bass please. Have you still got the original pups? Are all the electrics original apart from the pups & has any of it had a refinish? Many thanks, Rob.
With EMG's fitted all the electrics will have been replaced. That's not to say the OP doesn't have them.
16. Fender Mustang bass for sale. I bought this last year but have fallen on hard times and need to release some cash so this baby has to go.
