  1. Just found this . . . . Pretty useful . . . . A, B, C and D are widths not shapes! http://www2.fender.com/en-GB/support/articles/guitar-neck-shape-v-c-u/
  2. Great stuff Manton Customs. It's hard to picture how a C neck would be different from a U or D neck. Help me out here. . . . . A typical 60's Precision would have a . . . . . . . . Shaped neck A typical 70's Jazz would have a . . . . . . . .. . . . . Shaped neck A typical 60's Jazz would have a . . . . . . . . . . . . .shaped neck stingray has a . . .. . . . . . Shaped neck.
  3. It would be pretty cool, I think, to have a thread on here regarding neck dimensions. I'm interested in fender, but could easily include other makes. For instance, what exactly is meant by a 'B' shaped neck or a 'C' shaped neck. When a neck radius is given, is its the radius of the fingerboard, or the back of the neck. Even if it's not made a sticky, could folks discuss the above paragraph to help me understand/describe? Also, neck depths . . advantages/disadvantages/examples . . . .
  4. Buy me . . . . How about £300 final offer
  5. Bought a Musicmaster bass from Dunc. Good comms, promptly sent and well packed. Good seller :-)
  6. I had one of these. Great basses and free bump!
  7. Oh no it's not!
  8. Yeah, I front our trio, guitarist does BV's. I love singing but it took ages for me to be any good with or without a bass. I got pressured into singing and playing years ago when i wanted to introduce one of my original numbers into the band i played bass for. They told me they'd only play it if I sang it. And it started from there. The more i use it the better it gets, but i find i have to use it fairly regularly for it to stay good - i regularly sing along to songs we do, in the car. helps me to remember lyrics as well :-)
  9. Can you post a better pic of the crack in the neck please. Is this a flaw in the wood, or the result in a knock or being dropped?
  10. Phew was just about to pull the trigger on this!
  11. What's the neck like in terms of width? Comparable to a P or a J or an inbetweeny?
  12. I've no experience of the B3, but I use a B1on as my regular gigging fx unit. I've tried many different units but found this one to be the most convenient. The plastic case is not an issue. Mine gets stomped on and abused regularly. The effects sound great, it's versatile, will run off batteries for festies etc and fits in the front pocket of my gig bag. As a singing bass player, I haven't got the concentration to use lots of different sounds on a song, but I do have it set up so that if I need to I can change from clean to distortion mid song etc. only shortcoming in my opinion is lack of a Di.
  13. [quote name='i am not an insect' timestamp='1438936894' post='2838732'] Weight is 10.5kg inc case. Just had the neck off and truss rod does go in both directions. Ta!!
