1.
Here's a link to a video put up by landlord from a gig a couple of weeks ago:- https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1157743877603020&id=224894804221270 And this one posted by a punter at the same gig from outside the marquee:- https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154868229452598&id=588604131173413 It's the Big Twin g3 being driven by a markbase sa450 500w map. Bear in mind you can dump 1600w into it. The band are seriously loud, going through a barefaced pa, just two cabs, light enough to throw, 800w rms each. There's no bass in the pa.... This is last night's superb gig in Hastings, another punter, this time his phone couldn't deal with the SPL, place was rammed with very up for it happy dancing punters and a couple of grizzled bass heads who reckoned it was the best bass tone they'd heard the low B was astounding apparently - one of them is now trying to sell his big heavy Ashdown rig to get a big twin. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154248515748279&id=588604131173413&notif_t=page_wall&notif_id=1466940198861663&ref=bookmarks
Certainly cutting thru the mix a treat!
2.
I notice that you have a GK MB500. I recently bought one to use with my BF compact and it's a great loud and punchy combination.
Good to know :-)

4. Roll on end of July!
5. Thanks for all your comments folks. I've changed the goal posts a bit and pulled the trigger on a big baby 2 :-)
6. Ok, from what I remember . . . . Quotes like 'you can't beat the laws of Physics', 'we get a lot of those cabs in as people!e want to trade them in', 'tney don't feel very substantial and that's reflected in the sound'. Now these comments go against all! I've read about the cabs, and they were made by someone who would have a vested interest in selling me stock from the shop so I'm not going to take them at face value without some investigation. . . . . Hence the thread here.
7. I've been humming and hawing about buying a BF Super Compact to downsize from my Eden nemesis 4 x 10. The BF website favourably compares a super compact with the sound you can get from a 4 x 10 but I'm quite sceptical to be honest. I've read good reviews about the BF stuff and was about to pull the trigger when I was put off by some comments from a staff member at a well respected bass shop. I've not been able to get through to BF to chat about it and they've not rung me back despite me leaving a message. Having said that I'm sure they're pretty damn busy the way the company has taken off. So - is there anyone out there who's bought a super compact and been disappointed and moved it on? Is there anyone out there who's replaced a 4 x 10 with a super compact and been happy with the change. For info I play general rock n pop covers through Jazz basses mainly into a GK MB500 or old Trace heads. Any thoughts or info muchly appreciated.
8. Beauty. I'd be on this like a tramp on sandwiches if I didn't have three trace heads already!
9. I've got a couple of gigs coming up on EUB, and I might be doing some singing. Using a mic on a stand with EUB is a bit of a bugger, and I have an old Senheiser Freeport wireless headset system knocking about. It works on 863 - 865 mhz. I think this is still legal but i know there's been some radio frequency jiggery pokery going on over the last couple years. Anyone know if this'll be any good to use, or whether I'll be picking up peeps phone calls mid gig? If you're using stuff on that frequency with no problems currently, I'd love for you to reassure me! Colin

14. Just bought a neck from Dan. Transaction was trouble free. It came expertly packed and was in better condition than expected. Deal with confidence!
15. I use one of these for pub gigs. 19.5 kg and surprisingly pokey! If you can get over the 'B' word! http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_b1200d_pro.htm?sid=5b9a588aea71a2c322159375e71d0e7a
16. What's the nut width please?
17.
I just received one of the t bone 75 sets. I bought a base set and an extra belt pack for the drummer. Really disappointed with it. The vocals don't come through too bad but the bass seems to carry a hiss with it that I could never live with in a gigging situation. I've messaged thomann to see if this is normal or if the unit's faulty. Disappointed :-( Our guitarist has the gear for music set that he seems quite pleased with except for the fact that when you give it a mono send, as out aux outs are, he only receives a signal in one ear. How would I go about fixing this? Could I rewire a stereo lead somehow?
Thomann's reply: Dear Colin, thank you for your enquiry. I am afraid that the disturbing sounds you get are normal in the price range of the IEM 75. So if you are not satisfied with it, I recommend to get a In Ear of higher quality. If you want to return the IEM 75, please contact our international customer care:
18. Cheers guys. Colgraff, how do you find the bass sound on the gfm kit?

20. Sorry this didn't work out for you dude. This used to be mine. I'm now using the unpowered version of exactly the same desk with powered tops and would just like to say it's an excellent desk with loads of patching options and plenty of clean power! Good luck with the sale.
21. Pics would help massively. Lots of love for these on here!
