1. This is the best way...and do it by hand.
2. Could you upload a pic of the original parts you say you have for it too? Scratchplate, pots and pups? Thanks
3. It's not only the serial number you need to check by the way. There are other dates on the pots and pickups and neck you should probably look at too. Assuming you are trying to evaluate whether the instrument is in original condition? Feel free to PM if you need advice.
4. This looks very nice indeed. Great refinish and by Gruhn Guitars too - that's a bonus for the buyer here! All those 1960 dates and a neck date of January 1961 suggests it's pretty much a mid to late 1960 bass to me. Probably finished off after the Christmas break! These are getting harder to find too...Very nice.
5. Now this is very nice! Torres and Chambers stamps in the neck pocket - you know it's going to be a great one!
6. Very very nice bass! Top chap to deal with too.

Bought a bass from Charlie. Very pleasant and helpful chap to deal with. Very much recommended. Many thanks Charlie.
8. Having been able to see all the routings now - including under the bridge, I would suggest this is the correct body for this bass. All routing is as it should be for this period. I don't see any reason to doubt that. The body has certainly been refinished - but that is a fairly common practice. The bridge is very probably right as you say - the saddles have been changed though. Not that it would be much of a problem to put the correct style saddles back on it. Great to have all the pictures you've posted. Good luck with the sale!
9. A picture of the neck pocket would be good as you suggest. Also a body picture with the guard off to one side - showing the routing. If you can bear it - taking off the bridge would show the bridge ground routing - this would be good to evaluate its age.
10. Hi there, I'm selling this Badass II Chrome Bridge. Fits Fender basses without any mods (4 string). See pictures for condition. A little pitting from age but working fine. It was on a Jazz bass. No bridge screws, but standard Fender bridge screws are a perfect fit for it. Just had it apart to clean - All saddle and intonation screws have been bathed in 3 in 1 oil and all work fine and turn free. £65 inc post to UK. Paypal friend payment or bank transfer please.
11. I met Claudio yesterday to collect a bass from him. Really nice chap and a pleasure to deal with throughout. Many thanks Claudio! Cliff
12. Chris bought a set of tuners from me. Quick payment and pleasant to deal with. Many thanks Chris, Cliff
13. It looks like the foam has stuck to the bottom of the pickups.
14. Fantastic bass Gary, great to see an unmolested 66P. Getting harder to find examples like this these days.
15. What a great looking bass! I take it the finish is in nitro? Do you happen to know the neck date? Does it have its original case?
16. From the parts drawer. £20 including posting to UK first class. I can throw in the screws for it if you like. A little Oly White paint on the back of it - it has the longer D and G intonation screws. The plate is chrome - not new and shiny but aged (naturally) Saddles nickel.
17. Just bought a set of tuners from Chris - they arrived the very next day! Top man - thanks. Cliff
18. A set of four nickel Gotoh 66 style tuners. These are the most accurate reproduction tuners I've found. Bought for a project but not used. The previous owner slightly filed the edge of the G tuner to fit on his headstock. It's not a real issue though and is hardly noticeable - see pic (it's at the front on the close up). I can't find any screws for these I'm afraid, but the bushings are included. Asking £65 please including UK postage. Thanks.
19. Another fabulous bass Si, Looks amazing! These early slab board basses are getting harder to find these days, especially in this unmolested condition.
20.
Komplete doesn't need one of those pesky ilok things
Absolutely correct. No iLok needed just an NI account. Kontakt 5 is part of this and is the engine that drives the sampled instruments. Very good price for a massive set of audio tools/sampled instruments etc... If I didn't have it already I would buy this.
