1. I am not asking £80. I am asking for £60 for the set. I can't change the mistake above! One set of shiny Schaller BMFL bass tuners. These have Schaller engraved on the back rather than Fender. Clover leaf as 70s Fender basses. I should add the screw holes (and screws) fit directly into Fender basses from 1968 - 1976 with no extra holes required. Thanks
2. Wizard Pickups arrived. Perfect thank you. Quick delivery and a good buy - highly recommended seller. Thanks Chris
3. Tremendous! Everyone already has the correct pots in their Gibsons? Just in case....still here!
4. For sale is my Blue Flower Fender Japan Telecaster. All original A serial, Fender logo. Like my Paisley (also for sale) this is a Fender NOT a Squire. Mid 80s reissue series of the little known blue flower tele from 1968. Fretboard a little worn in the country and western chord areas otherwise all good to go. Hard case to be organised but I will include one for it. 5. For sale is my 1982 Fender JV Paisley (Pink). (The Blue Flower in the photos is also for sale at £695) This is one of the very first made, about 200 were made in the first run I believe and this is one of them. The neck is dated Dec 1983. This is a non-export Fender logo JV. Quite a rare thing. I am the third owner. It's all as it should be except for newer CTS pots (The same as would have been on it originally). The previous owner had installed a coil tap. No harm was done. Comes with an 80s Fender embossed logo hard case. Both of my teles are currently for sale in my local South London guitar shop (1st Picture). I can either direct you there or fetch them out if interested. 6. Bought a bag of P Bass bits from Jon, very nice chap. Thanks Jon, it was good to meet you. Highly recommended.
7. Any chance of a pic of these out of the box? Front and back please. Thanks...
8. Matt sold me a late 60s Fender strap. The real deal! Thanks Matt. Nice and easy. Deal with confidence.
9. Just bought a pick guard from Etienne, what a nice guy! Super quick delivery and great communication and price. Deal with complete confidence. Many thanks...
10. Clear pics of pot codes and pickup codes are essential to properly evaluate. Can't read them from the pics you put up. Also any neck pocket markings and back of neck heel. I know it can be a pain but it needs to be done for the asking price I think.
11. I have two new old stock original CTS 1965 500k pots. These 500k pots were used on Gibson's but many other guitars too. Generally used with humbucker pick ups. Perfect for a restoration project. These things don't turn up very often in this condition. Thanks
12. I have for sale a 1974/1975 Fender Precision body. It has been refinished in Nitro black paint. In its lifetime it has had an extra rout for a Jazz pickup and an extension in the control cavity for a battery. Both of these routs have been professionally repaired with alder prior to a refin. The repair to the cavity is extremely hard to see (and photograph) and the repair where the extra pickup was is more visible in some lighting - you can make out the edges of the repaired area. Again this was very hard to photograph so it's not by any means a bad job. I've tried to catch it in the last photo. The only other quirk is a broken off screw in the centre bridge mount position. This has been left in and a new screw does go into the hole and tighten. I just want to be clear that it is in there, although pushed to the side and out of the way. This in no way affects the proper mounting of the bridge. The only option here was to remove and dowel the hole which is still an option. It is a very light body weighing 2kg. I'm happy to post it at cost or meet somewhere in London. Collection is OK too. Thoughts on price via PM welcomed. 13. I just bought a 1958 Fender Jazzmaster from Si today. He has exceptional taste in guitars and basses and only has the very best examples. This looks to be another example of that quality. I'd buy it myself if I didn't have a 65 P already! Good luck with the sale. Whoever buys this will be getting a wonderful non-molested proper vintage Fender bass.
14. I just bought two lovely vintage basses from Isabass. Honest descriptions, well packaged basses and an all round great seller. Great comms too, with tracking info. Took less than a week for both to arrive in London from Nice, France. Exactly as described. Highly recommended. Many Thanks...
15. I just bought a fabulous vintage Fender from Simon. He is a very honest, decent and knowledgable chap. A great credit to BC. It was great to meet you today Simon, thanks for the coffee too! Most highly recommended.
16. Thanks Sean, trouble free purchase of a good old Westone Thunder 1A for my neice. Everybody's favourite first bass! Decent chap, helpful and friendly. Thanks very much.
17. Standards refers to the Great American Songbook, old songs from shows, films, jazz tunes etc. The idea is that all players will know a lot of standards and the right keys they are in - this way a scratch band who don't know each other can form a quartet etc to play a wedding or function or whatever. One guy might shout "Girl From Ipanema" and the band just gets on and plays it…The way to learn standards is to get in a function band or watch them and see what they play. As said before new ones get added when they are popular enough.
18. Syncopated rhythms can always be broken down into quavers or semiquavers. They always look hard to read but tend to make sense if you hear them/know the track with them in. A lot of things that we all play by ear look very hard to read if they are written out. Don't let the rhythms scare you off. Try the old taping out the rhythms trick using quavers or semiquavers being tapped in one hand and tap out the rhythm you are struggling with with the other hand. Get used to the feel of the rhythm then play it with the notes. Theory is your friend - slow it all right down and you'll be fine. Also you will most likely see the same types of syncopation over and over again in different music. Once you get it in your head you'll most likely play it straight off when you see it again in another piece...
19. Just received my Octabass and strings this morning. Exactly as described. Would definitely buy from again. Many thanks.
20. That may well be the case. No I haven't called them - I'm just planning ahead at the moment...
