Great price. Seems to have everything the RH450 has, but you get a free cab? Or am I missing something?
The presets and eq are not as extensive, the outputs are more limited, I dont think there is a footswitch option, and the tuner isnt as extensive. Plus, they are a little weighty. BUT, I think the prices Ive seen are very good for what you get. The tweeter control is a neat idea.
Here's one place that will be selling them ... pricing seems very reasonable ... made in PRC? http://www.dv247.com/guitars/tc-electronic...er-combo--72907
That is an ideal price for a combo...especially for beginners. In fact...anyone!
Wow! I am really happy to see TC embracing the Bass market at last! There's some great products released. I REALLY hope that they maintain those high build standards.. I won't cringe to see them using cheap hardware and substandard electronics. I think it might put me off them - much like I have with a good few other companies who are having to make cut backs - but in the wrong areas of business I think! I know these have been out for a while - But I'm tempted to try one on bass! http://www.tcelectronic.com/novadynamics.asp
I hope they keep the high standards up Ive got a TC Elec Nova Repeater on order for guitar use but I will fiddle with it on bass and give some sort of mini review.

I think these combos might be aimed at the more 'tradtional combo' end of the market. They look like normal combos, and have a few less features than the RH450. I wonder what price range they are at. Interesting! These guys are very quick at releasing new products. http://www.tcelectronic.com/bg500.asp

There is definitely enough warmth and punch in that amp to give you a lovely warm vintage tone.
Dave, you should never feel bad about spending your money and treating yourself. You only live once, you work hard to earn money, playing bass is your passion and hobby and so you should enjoy it whilst you can. Its only money and material possesion and it can always be sold. If it makes you happy then thats the important bit.
Massive +1. I have overspent a little recently....only a little. BUT, I compare it the amount my friends WASTE on their very-expensive-to-run Japanese Sports Cars, and Im laughing. One of them spent £1400 on suspension and fitting, and then his MOT was well into £700 with it being a specialist car. He has to pay to store it and cannot drive it that much due to the area I used to live in. Plus you cant park it anywhere. If you ask me, cars ARE a waste of money unless you get a really nice car that actually might retain SOME value. If its like some of the cars Ive heard of recently that depreciate to half within a year, then thats a waste of money. I hate cars BTW due to the hassle ive had with them....I want a quality Audi because they look awesome and scream quality, but unless Im on mega bucks I wont buy new. Thank god I dont need it now...I live slap bang near everything so the money went on bass instead. Bass is a damn good hobby and if you earn from it, like some of us do, then its even more reason to spend. Exactly the reason why I joined the covers scene....to cover GAS funds. Apologies to those who really like their cars. Ive had bad experiences with them.
Anybody who is in need of a decent tuner pedal, watch the classifieds, I have a feeling there will be many TU-2s suddenly going up for sale!
Definitely. I bet ebay has a fair few. Did anyone upgrade to the TU-3 instead of this?
Just ordered one from bassDirect and will indeed be selling my TU2!
Thats what I did! Still waiting for mine to get here...

I wonder which Baschatter is taking the plunge first?! I would but cant quite afford one at the moment.
Control plate too crowded? I thought basses had to have at least five rotary controls to be any good?
Hhaha, more than 2 and its pushing it!
I just showed the missus the natural one, the conversation went: "Look at this dear" "it's pretty, you have really started to like natural basses lately" "indeed, but you would kill me if I brought it home" "If we have the money and the space you can have as many basses as you like" This one's a keeper.
Awesome. The girlfriend said to me I can spend as much as I like on instruments as long as I have the cash to spare! Definitely a keeper hahahah.
Doesn't this look so much neater by comparison (I appreciate its not active, but I am talking design) - the Tony Franklin fretted. Now that I like a LOT
The TF is a stunner No doubt about it... Now...my GAS has gone back up for the TF Fretless yet again hahaha.
Is it me or is the fourth knob on the Precision too close to the jack socket? All looks a little too bunched up for me. Why didn't they put the jack socket on the lower edge? See Oly White one below:
I agree, although Im not a fan of ever trying to improve the simple P design or making it active. In fact, even with a 4 string Jazz I wouldnt mess with it, but a 5er sometimes needs that little extra. I used to have the American Deluxe Precision with the H + P pickups, and it really wasnt my cup of tea. Heres hoping they sound good. The Jazz control layout looks much better http://www.fender.com/themes/products/imag...94690705_md.jpg
I'm interested in the N3 pickups. Are they Bongo-esque neodymium magnets?
Specs and photos are now officially on the Fender site http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?section=basses I like the 'highly detailed fret and nut work' part. Baggsy the White 5 string Jazz with rosewood neck. Those blocks/bindings are killer. Elecs are 18v. Very interesting....as soon as I hear some positive reviews from a players perspective (eg good B and good electrics) Ill be taking one.
