haha not a mummy and daddy case, i have played many gigs and saved all of my money and i have also searched high and low for my gear lol
Good on you. Much better than wasting it all on expensive cars with stupidly high insurance like most my mates did at 17/18. Enjoy!
 2. Seems like a fair price...i've sold my two beauts for a similar price and they were imaculate. Only the new Classic Rays come with the upgraded necks now, as far as I know.
 3. I will add pics soon. I have the 09 Jazz, Classic Ray on order, and the Ray 5 might be White as well! Not only that...I'll prob end up with a Squier CV White Jazz soon!
its finally here, im mega happy. ITS ACE and not bad for a 17 year old haha cant wait to gig it in the weekend
Jees, well done dude, I had awful cabs at that age. I spent everything on the basses and a decent amp...my cabs were crap.
 5. Antoine do you visit the Orange forum? Got to say I love those Orange guitar and bass amps. I think I may have commented on your black PPC212(?) at some point. I have the White version and a Dual Terror. If you can persuade her, the Cv Squiers are very nice....im tempted to get one myself as a backup. My girlfriend used to play bass well before I met her, and now shes interested in learning again. I told her she is free to use my Squier when I get it. Very VERY good instruments for the £250-270 price tag. Olympic White CV 60s Jazz has an ultra fast neck.
 6. My Classic Series Stingray is all maple neck/board. Not sure whether to go for rosewood with the Stingray 5 for variety. I tested a Squier CV JAzz today and I was impressed! Going to give it some thought on which CV model is best for me then go ahead. Cheers
 7. Overall, Markbass is ultra clean, and very good at it. The RH450 is more like a tube amp, despite it being digital. Cannot go wrong with either, but the TC wins for sheer amount of very useful features.
 8. Soundslive now have Markbass, and quite a lot of it, should you want to test it out (For Conan)
 9. How strange! I tested one of these out today...and I was very surprised by the weight and quality. The tone is spot on, the strings that come with it aint bad, the bridge is substantial. I hate it when they dont budge on prices. I dont understand it. If it were me, I would have walked, but thats just me. They are roughly £250 ish online....and the one I tested today was quoted at £279 even though their site says £250 hahaha. I only went in for a test, and I was impressed, so ill be ordering a brand new one. They are damn fine basses, and after owning a MIJ Precision, these come fairly close! Now I need to decide if Im going for this or the new Fiesta Red Precision.
 10.
And on Hold again Kidding! Congrats Gareth
Cheers! haha. I am Ray-less when this one leaves , but I do have their replacements to look forward to.
will he? won't he? he will. yey!
It finally got sorted hahah! Now I think the courier is delayed though....
 11.
when you think of the extra work to do the contoured body. Is it back and front?? Cost of the better bag 100 dabs isn't too bad. If it only didn't come with the 12th fret inlay. If you do a signature bass whats wrong with just the sig on the back of the headstock like the steve harris! And I've just noticed something, look at the grain in the two pics above!!!!
Tis the same! Haha
 12. That's fair I think. A £60 or so saving for a new bass will attract buyers. Detailed pics will help ya good luck with the sale!
 13.
are you sure now ? !!
Yep...for now anyway hahah. Original post edited with lots more detailed pictures as recently requested via PM. Hope they help out! Cheers
 14. Again its back for sale....problems with a retailer means the buyer cannot go ahead yet... Just to stop the confusion its for sale hahah!
 15. Anyone got a proper gig review of one of these?
 16.
Both the 51 Reissue Butterscotch and the Sunburst are discontinued. Guess which one they'll continue to do? Yep the Artist series one with the Sting Signature.
How much is the Sting one?! Silly that they are discontinuing them. Stops my GAS though. I think the burst will look very cool. Can you get a Tort plate?! Pics up when it gets here PS Our practice rooms took delivery of two Fender 115 Bassman combos. They are still boxed up though. Need to test one if im allowed.
 17.
The Jazz is the more resonant out of the 3, superb clear and loud, the 50's Precision is orgasmic to play, I am not kidding you, it reaches deep within you with warmth, the 60's Precision is perfectly period reminescent and with the new pickup it cuts through the muddiest of mixes, you can keep the volume down but you can't fail to recognise it thumping away with a distinctive tone and voice, I wouldn't give any of them up, I love all 3 of them in a different way. Oh and I've got quite a range of quality basses including a Stingray 5, a Bongo 5, and a Musicman Ernie Ball 25th Anniversary, but when it comes to the vintage vibe the 3 Squiers are the dog's danglies.
Ah yes! We discussed the Ray 5s...dont you have a Big Al coming?! Thats going to be awesome.... Have you got a preference on the rosewood vs maple on Stingrays? I think if I go Classic Vibe itll be the Jazz...
 18.
Yeah mate and they are lovely too, a breeze to p,lay, and as for your question, It hangs perfectly, does not neck dive not even when playing sitting down, it balances well on your leg. Try one mate or if you are ever in London, get in touch. here are my Squier beauties in all their splendor: 50's Precision 60's Precision 60's Moo-Mooo Jazz
Bloomin heck the whole set! Which is best....the Jazz or Red Precision? Both are very tempting...
 19.
Yes, I've thought of one as these as a backup, but I really can't justify it - I have six electric basses as it is! Shhhhhhhhhhh!
Ah! Yes, I have a lot of changes going on at the moment bass wise, but I could really do with a 'cheap but decent' option. £250 is about my max really. It would just give me peace of mind when im rehearsing and ive got to get the Metro all the time.
 20. Thanks Rich! Im fairly tempted by the Oly White Jazz CV 60s as a backup as ive seen them for £249....cannot go wrong with that price. As long as I can play it alright, the rest will do.
 21. Where is the cheapest place these are coming up? Instead of getting a second hand backup I might just get one of these and leave the electrics as they are. Im not fussed if they arent perfect electrics wise, as long as they dont weigh a tonne and are pretty good QC wise im happy. if I want perfect tone ill use one of my USA ones...but I can see why people want to upgrade the parts!
 22.
Brilliant pics Rich - very useful. I would be tempted by a natural Jazz 4. Also very useful review Andy. I've seen comments here and on Talkbass about pickup noise and heaviness (as in up to 10 lbs). I've also heard from Soundslive.co.uk that the initial batch of deluxes have been recalled due to the wrong finish being applied. Don't know if that's just dealer BS (apologies to all dealers!) or if there's something going on. I would be very interested in one of these, but I don't have the time to visit every dealer to find one that's the right weight (around 8.5 lbs would be good) and that doesn't have significant earthing issues. Would be great if Fender upped their consistency and QA, and if they screened as standard (would it really cost that much if made part of a standard production process?). On an instrument with such a good basic design spec it seems sad that Fender can't go the extra yard or two to make it really exceptional. Still I suppose that's how they drum up business for the Custom Shop. Dust clouds willing there may be a few more in the country before too long.
I think their initial run was rushed...looking at the reviews on tbass. I think its always best to leave it 6 months just to see how things go. They could really 'nail' the superjazz market it they get these right. Not being shielded and high weights keep me from wanting one now. There are obviously diamonds in the rough though, as per the review above.
 23. I went to Soundslive today and they have some new Markbass combos in. Ive seen them 'in the flesh' now and I must admit, the quality of build is stunning. I would definitely consider a new Markbass combo, albeit it one of the small 112s I think.
