1. Haha, thanks Luke. I think it's partly that I work long hours (one of the reasons I never get to play it!) and also forgetfulness. After taking it out of the case last night to take those pics, I played for a few minutes and I kinda can't believe both that I'm selling it at all and for this price. I imagine when I move country, I'll buy something that can re-sell faster e.g. a generic Fender Precision but I'll be sad that it won't be anywhere near as good as this beauty. Sad
2. EDIT: I've finally got round to taking a bunch of hi-res pics and also put it on that auction site again - had some actual attention through there this time although I'd MUCH rather sell it here because that would avoid the crazy auction site plus payment site fees and I'd also know it would be going to a knowledgeable forumite who knows what they're getting and knows how to look after it!
3. Hey y'all! Happy Saturday! LukeRFC gave me a great idea, I've decided that if I don't get offers this week, I'm going to take it down to Camden Bass Gallery, North London and sell on commission. I figure that even people who don't know clover, if they see it, they'll wanna handle it, if they handle it, they'll wanna play it and if they play it, they'll fall in love with it and have to buy it ;0 I will check with the Bass Gallery what their policy is on withdrawal from sale e.g. if I get an offer on here whilst it's on sale with them ( which is preferable because then all the cash goes in my pocket instead of partially in theres ;0 ). Cheers, Leo
4. Hey y'all, I can attest to Clover's being amazing build quality, amazing sound and super easy to play. I have a Clover Aperion H4 which is absolutely gorgeous, I sold my Rickenbacker to buy it (the Rick was a POS in comparison, would you believe it). If you're into 5 stringers, then I would absolutely not hesitate to buy one **except** I am both a multi-instrumentalist (guitar mainly) and also have a lot of other hobbies and now I have a job with very long hours so I hardly get to touch my bass and as such, I'm selling it (I'm also moving to the US in a few weeks and don't fancy shipping it ). What I've found frustrating is that there are only a few select people that know the quality of these basses and so I'm having trouble selling it - I've come to realise that unless I'm 99% sure I want to keep something for life, I shouldn't buy boutique, I should make do with the crappier mass-produced stuff (like the Rick which sold in about 10 hours!). Here's my FS thread, in case you're interested: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/127567-fs-clover-apeiron-h4-london-uk/ if you are, let me know soon as I'm going to take it to Camden Bass Gallery, North London to sell it on commission (ugh). If you want to buy a 5 stringer or something, I can highly recommend Mark Stickley at Bass Direct, he normally has a couple in stock and he sells them below RRP - usually around £1250ish. Nice dude, too. Peace! Peace
5. Thanks dude. As you can see, I've casually been trying to sell the bass for a while but because it's not a big brand like Fender, it's only going to appeal to a niche few. I'm actually really bummed about it because it's such a beautiful instrument but nobody knows about it. It makes me kinda want to never buy amazing boutique gear again for fear of not being able to re-sell if needed.
6. BUMP: I'm moving to the US in a few weeks so I'm now more aggressively selling this plus my epi les paul plus my drums! I'm open to offers and I'm open to shipping
7.
mate if i was a bit closer i would be coming over for a look.... with money in my pocket....
Hmm. Glasgow.... I could meet you in NORTH London
8.
Dude! ... if it wasn't for the color then ...
The image at the top is off, I've colour corrected this one: Still not everybody's cup of tea but when you see it in person......well.....it's hard for an instrument to look sexier.
9.
Gutted you've had to resort to sticking this on evilBay, Clover make some absolutely beautiful instruments and it would be good to see it staying within the BC community. I'd love to get my hands on this beauty...sadly I'm broke ass too
I'm surprised, it hasn't been selling - I've listed 3 times - t's now at £825.... I'm doubly gutted - I really wish I didn't have to sell it but life's practicalities mean I must....and so I try...but I can't!
10. OK, it's on 'the' auction site....reduced a further £50.........sadness
11.
Well I have an uber nice fretless that I'd consider a trade for if we could arrange a deal? A rather drastic change in musical direction dictates the need for a nice fretted four string over the fretless, would be a shame to see her go, but the Clover would definitely make up for it
Hm. not sure why I didn't get an email notification of this reply?! Even though I'd like a fretless, I can't trade - sadly, one of the driving factors behind the sale is that I am severely broke It's been a few weeks so I'm not thinking I might stick it on..um.....an auction site.
12.
Hey man, I've been watching this one with interest as I'd been arranging a deal with a fellow BC'er for a Clover XP 15.5 which I finally picked up today!! Holy crap! If this beauty plays and sounds anything like the XP does, then this is one hell of a nice bass and at a nice price too. If I hadn't just spent all my cash, I'd certainly be considering it. Any interest in a 4 string fretless?
Nice job on the XP! I'd love a fretless. I'd also love to not have to sell my bass but I have to get my priorities straight... And yes, it's certainly a special bass - super-low action means it's easy to play, you can play smooth and easy all Sunday or you can shred like a metalhead, either way is effortless. I've never held a bass with such build quality, that plays so easily, that is so versatile... it'll be modern, punchy & hi-fi or it'll be thuddy and old-school... so so good. Somebody is going to get a bargain.
13. Bump - priced dropped all the way down to £900! Scraping the barrel... can't really keep dropping, it's such an amazing sounding / playing, solid / hand-made & classic looking instrument....
14. bump to make a few little points: - I'll keep this baby on here for perhaps a fortnight, gradually lowering the price a little now and then. - I will consider negotiating (slightly) if anybody wants to give me a nice, easy, smooth sale. - if you want to check out some kind of seller profile, I'll happily provide my username at a famous auction site - I've attached part of it here: - in a couple of weeks, if it hasn't sold, I'll stick it on the aforementioned site - but as with most of my gear, I'd rather it go to a fellow forumite who I know will value it for what it is, treat it well etc...
