1. Bass wise, job wise, band wise - all rubbish. I need a break from the doom n gloom!
2. I'd be quite tempted by a Matt Freeman P Bass.
3. Just hit me with a PM or [email protected] Anything considered...thanks.
4. Hahha, glad youve got it. Ive decided my luck is well and truly down recently, so I dont expect anything amazing to happen for a long time. The last 6 months have been a rubbish long slog but hopefully I will receive my orders in the near future.
5. 550 seems a little better!
6. These were available for that price, and originally £120 ish. Now, there are limited stocks and as I've experienced, some are nowhere near as decent as this one. QC is top notch on this one!
7. Understood. Ive put this up in haste tbh, not to make a profit! The asking price is merely a guideline. If people want to know more just PM me.
8. Perfect backup or beginner bass, and it's fairly light! Sonic Blue/Rosewood/Gig Bag, Tools, Strap, Cable. Excellent condition and actually pretty well made for a budget P. Strings line up to pups, neck to body join is damn fine, paint is great. Pickup has a pretty good P bass grunt, and its nice and easy to play. £70.00 ONO picked up, or plus shipping if required. I estimate shipping (without insurance as its low value) would be roughly £10.00 with a courier on interparcel.com. Why this price? Answer = local tech setup of £35.00. Nut re-adjusted and set for a low ish action. New strings were put on but I didn't request anything high end but they are no doubt mid-level priced strings as part of the setup I paid for. These basses retailed for around £120-140 I believe, and as you all know, we all jumped on a recent sale they had. This plus the setup is basically below what I paid, and a massive bargain. Most basses at this level are awful, but Im actually damn impressed. Don't be afraid to make an offer obviously! Payment via bank transfer.
9. Been using mine on tour and it's s great bargain! Sounds half decent!
10.
In my opinion it's the cure to a problem no one cares about.
Lol. I can see why people love Dingwalls, but I can't really see what the huge problem is that we need to cure?! The past few weeks I've started to play a lot more than be on here, and believe me I very much doubt anyone noticed all the very small minor issues we discuss. If the bass sounds good, looks good, is well made just enjoy it Ps I actually really like some of the Dingwall bodyshapes...I'm not arguing either way.
11. Try both if you can However if you like the 6.0 you will love the 9.0
12. Ah! Nice to see you over here Hasbeen! Please stick around
13. I have a feeling if you don't like the darker warmer TC, the Streamliner might not be your thing. I'd try the Shuttle 9.0
14. Mine is paid for and I'm just awaiting for stock with the BM.
15. Might be upto two months. But, it'll be worth it. I literally think the Big Al is one of the best new bass tones out there!
16. Update, due to work im only able to do half of their tour next week, but only because I cant get the hols all of a sudden. So, a dep is covering some gigs. Anyway, they think the SP cabs are a bad idea....not big enough! Its either a 4x10 or an 8x10....choices choices!
17. Replacements being built and S&T / Bass Merchant have been more than helpful. I'm being bumped up the production list. Much happier now.
18. Ibanez Promethean or GK MB Combos.
19. I think it was great for Aguilar to come over. I am annoyed I couldn't go.
20. That Blacksmith is insane.
21. I think they made this for the bigger bands. I like Genz but I know for a fact the RH450 hammers at the very conservatively rated 450 W. All to do with voicing and how they actually rate it in the first place. Ill get an RH750 once I know it can make the same sound! I dont want to get it and its a different tone like the Mark Bass LM3 vs LM 800. Im glad TC are pushing it and making new products.
22. Minor update - now in touch with S&T who I expect will be great to deal with, but I have stipulated that I expect replacements for high end basses such as these not being to spec. The damage could have happened at any point in delivery, and strangely they dont seem concerned about that. The cases are hardcases, but I think putting a cardboard box over a hardcase a little worrying because you want the case to also turn up brand new! Darren @ BM bubbles everything but before that, it was just one box, case inside, bass in case. No padding.
23. Cheers! If I'm nearby I'll give you a PM. Ps - There was talk in Talkbass about the new products. Here is one of them: http://www.rmcaudiodirect.com/Gallien-Krue...mp-p/mb-800.htm There was a GK flyer but not sure where it is now.
24. Agreed its technique etc, but for a good old rock band/heavier music, the low mids of the P bass just seem to fill the mix better. I think a lot of it is due to how guitarists suck their mids out for that modern heavy Mesa tone, so the P sits in that part! Ive heard sooo many bands playing Js that sound great, but then get lost once the band kicks in. This is more based on rock/punk bands. Hence, when I get my J, im using the Tonehammer to 'active' it up. Ill probably slightly favour the neck pickup when balancing it out.
