Nice!

Perfect backup or beginner bass, and it's fairly light! Sonic Blue/Rosewood/Gig Bag, Tools, Strap, Cable. Excellent condition and actually pretty well made for a budget P. Strings line up to pups, neck to body join is damn fine, paint is great. Pickup has a pretty good P bass grunt, and its nice and easy to play. £70.00 ONO picked up, or plus shipping if required. I estimate shipping (without insurance as its low value) would be roughly £10.00 with a courier on interparcel.com. Why this price? Answer = local tech setup of £35.00. Nut re-adjusted and set for a low ish action. New strings were put on but I didn't request anything high end but they are no doubt mid-level priced strings as part of the setup I paid for. These basses retailed for around £120-140 I believe, and as you all know, we all jumped on a recent sale they had. This plus the setup is basically below what I paid, and a massive bargain. Most basses at this level are awful, but Im actually damn impressed. Don't be afraid to make an offer obviously! Payment via bank transfer.

Been using mine on tour and it's s great bargain! Sounds half decent!
In my opinion it's the cure to a problem no one cares about.
Lol. I can see why people love Dingwalls, but I can't really see what the huge problem is that we need to cure?! The past few weeks I've started to play a lot more than be on here, and believe me I very much doubt anyone noticed all the very small minor issues we discuss. If the bass sounds good, looks good, is well made just enjoy it Ps I actually really like some of the Dingwall bodyshapes...I'm not arguing either way.

Try both if you can However if you like the 6.0 you will love the 9.0
-
Ah! Nice to see you over here Hasbeen! Please stick around
-
I have a feeling if you don't like the darker warmer TC, the Streamliner might not be your thing. I'd try the Shuttle 9.0
-
Mine is paid for and I'm just awaiting for stock with the BM.
-
Might be upto two months. But, it'll be worth it. I literally think the Big Al is one of the best new bass tones out there!
-
Update, due to work im only able to do half of their tour next week, but only because I cant get the hols all of a sudden. So, a dep is covering some gigs. Anyway, they think the SP cabs are a bad idea....not big enough! Its either a 4x10 or an 8x10....choices choices!

Replacements being built and S&T / Bass Merchant have been more than helpful. I'm being bumped up the production list. Much happier now.

Ibanez Promethean or GK MB Combos.

I think it was great for Aguilar to come over. I am annoyed I couldn't go.

That Blacksmith is insane.

I think they made this for the bigger bands. I like Genz but I know for a fact the RH450 hammers at the very conservatively rated 450 W. All to do with voicing and how they actually rate it in the first place. Ill get an RH750 once I know it can make the same sound! I dont want to get it and its a different tone like the Mark Bass LM3 vs LM 800. Im glad TC are pushing it and making new products.

Minor update - now in touch with S&T who I expect will be great to deal with, but I have stipulated that I expect replacements for high end basses such as these not being to spec. The damage could have happened at any point in delivery, and strangely they dont seem concerned about that. The cases are hardcases, but I think putting a cardboard box over a hardcase a little worrying because you want the case to also turn up brand new! Darren @ BM bubbles everything but before that, it was just one box, case inside, bass in case. No padding.

Cheers! If I'm nearby I'll give you a PM. Ps - There was talk in Talkbass about the new products. Here is one of them: http://www.rmcaudiodirect.com/Gallien-Krue...mp-p/mb-800.htm There was a GK flyer but not sure where it is now.

Agreed its technique etc, but for a good old rock band/heavier music, the low mids of the P bass just seem to fill the mix better. I think a lot of it is due to how guitarists suck their mids out for that modern heavy Mesa tone, so the P sits in that part! Ive heard sooo many bands playing Js that sound great, but then get lost once the band kicks in. This is more based on rock/punk bands. Hence, when I get my J, im using the Tonehammer to 'active' it up. Ill probably slightly favour the neck pickup when balancing it out.

Ive always wanted a GK amp but I never knew which one to get! The MB500/Fusion look great, but they now have more powerful ones being released soon!

Im going to take a calm approach until I hear back from S&T...who are going to chat to EBMM today asap as soon as they open...hopefully. Ive spoken to the BM who indeed did exactly as agreed and asked for a low-weight - medium weight (10lbs max) version of both basses. I can deal with 10lbs but nearing 12lbs is just like my old Fender Deluxe P....eg never used and sold due to discomfort. The wrong pickguard is also confusing... The cases, if it was just that, are obviously not as a big a deal, as they can replace very quickly, but added onto everything else is just plain annoying. I seriously wanted to be happy and I didnt expect it to literally be 100% perfect, but I think at the price, things have to be nearing the 'oh my this is well made!' area. The chrome thing is something Ive had before, but it didnt start until 3-4 years or so after ownership. As they cannot simply put the same serial on, you get a new serial, which then confuses things should you sell down the line. The chrome on the Sterling neck plate is spot on, so...I expect them both to be. You cant swap, obviously, as they are stamped with serial numbers. Just to be clear, when the chrome went on one of my previous Rays (long time ago), it got progressively worse. I didnt wear a belt, or scratch the area. It just started to crack and come off. So, thats why I picked up on a small area that looks virtually the same as what happened last time. The strange area near the frets just doesnt look right, and I dont want to gamble with something thats the most expensive bass Ive ever bought. Its a case of, when you buy new, you pay more for it to be 'right' and as close to perfection as can be. You pay a LOT more for this privilege. That's why Ive got quite stressed and wound up. Ive been informed that S&T can fastrack mistakes/problems like this quite quickly, eg 2x the same basses can be ordered and delivered much faster if its a case like this. Again, im not pulling out of the sale or trying to return for refunds, I REALLY want 1 of each of these bass models! Thats even more frustrating IMO.

Js sound great, but they never sit in a mix and feel like a P.

We shall see what happens over the next few days. The main reason I bought the Sterling was for a smaller, lighter, ceramic loaded Stingray 5. It sound good, no doubt, and im very happy with the ceramic tone....its much smoother than I anticipated. The boxes were 100% still sealed. Whether it was the show here that caused the rush to get them to me, ill never know. Again, as stipulated before, ive spent an actual huge amount of money so far, so id rather get what I ordered without shipping/etc problems and wait for 2 more, rather than pull out and cancel. They both sound phenomenal....no doubt about it. But, I do expect perfection when its this realm of money....Ive got 2 very fine examples at home of what they do well. My SR4 2 EQ is just stunning...literally my dream 2 EQ Ray. Obviously Darren at BM is no doubt having a nightmare now and this is in no way an issue with them. I think he is as shocked as me, because normally these basses are right first time. It aint Fender we are talking about here! Closer inspection of the box shows no damage, so the case crack could have been there from the start and again, not checked. Funny, because my £59.99 P bass copy arrived for 'rough' gigs, and it has no problems like this. Just my luck tbh.

I have heard rumours about this! That is going to be one seriously loud amp! Looking forward to hearing about it.
-
Hope so! The Big Al sound is absolutely amazing.
-
One of them has a weird area on the neck I'm not sure about and some chrome flaking, haven't looked properly. The other has a damaged case, and I've not inspected it but it is out of my weight range. I realise they can't get it bang on but it's very very heavy and I requested nothing heavy... I'll not be able to use it much live. Just adds even more annoyance Both cases are scratched but as mentioned one of then is seriously cracked. I know I'm a picky so n so, but these are super expensive. I expect them to be to spec and mint otherwise may as well have gone secondhand. Big shame. I still want one of each model but I think they will simply be reordering.
