1. I had a 6 stinger of these. I rescued it from a guy that had marked it up with a scribe and was ready to cut it into a flying V shape. FFS! no PU in it so I got a spare one from a Tokia or somethng like that. Guitar 25 quid PU free from a pal. Result:)
 2.
2 gigs this weekend, friday night local young farmers marquee dance. Absolutely persisting down. Low turn out for the first part of the evening, which was just as well cos the rock covers band I was playing in had guitarist volume issues again and the drummer was doing everything at breakneck tempos and having timimg issues. After the set I spoke to said guitarist and told him I was gone. Same dude who just wanted me to root note everything! On with my second band, much better with about 100 pissed farmers in now and up for a party. Best part of the evening was when our original (and best) guitarist wandered up to us and asked for his old job back! Result!!!!! He played with us on the second half of the set and I couldn't stop smiling. Our original line up is back and sounding even better with two guitars again. Did I really say that out loud LOL. Sunday gig, wedding at posh hotel, bride and groom are rock fans, superb. Rocking set and not too many weddingy type tunes. Good crowd, booze n food laid on too! Finished by 1130 pm and no work on Monday morning. Only downside having to hand over the the gig money to the missus, apparently the horse needs fed or something?
That's nae Turra Show is it?
 3. Yep Dad3353, just takes a little time to sus out. I doubt you would pick it up if we were talking though

 5.
Hoorin funny!!!!!! The only thing 'wrong' is the dudes haircut. As BigRedX said 'I'd have him in my band', nobody would notice my crappy bass playing
Nae muckle folk wid get yer first word, bit I ken I did. TBH, I don't like long solo's whether it's on the drums, bass, or guitar. However, in this case it's purely a fun thing and not an ego thing I would say. Good on him
 6.
Cash converters have started to get wise to the value of kit over the last year or so. I have had some fantastic bargains in the past because they just didn't know what they were selling. Squier precision fretless £30. Gale GS 401 vintage Hi Fi speakers £20. GK backline head £50. it goes on. All from local store when I just pop in to see what's there.
ah Gale speakers. I used to lust after those:)
 7.
I found a couple of guitar shops in Bangkok. They had the usual Fender and Gibson offerings and some Parker Fly basses. The prices were a lot better than here in the UK, VAT being only 7% and import duties much cheaper.
Hmmm might check those out. Got addresses?
 8.
I need to get my eyes tested. I read the title of this thread as "Getting a bass in Asda?". I have nothing useful to contribute.
Is that because you know how to get a bassin Asda and not Asia? BTW I do that a lot as well.
 9. I can't play bass, fretless or otherwise, but that looks lush.
 10. I think most of these place have a fairly good back up service for telling them how much something is worth therefore they are always pretty close to top price for what it is. Of course someone might come in with a custom build jobbie that they think homemade or something and price as is. Of course I could be speaking rubbish as usual.
 11. how can you only have 1 post but bumped this 1/2 dozen times lol
 12. I remember the Bandits, thought they were ace, I'm sure this is the same good stuff.
 13. yes, play it for 30+ years
 14.
Very true, but I'd know and I don't like being dishonest
Well I take my hat off to you. Given as they would tend to bend you over backwards and do strange stuff to you rather than pay out.
 15. DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!! I got an email early this year saying to check my recent transaction. Of course it showed that I had bought something I hadn't so I started 'making a complaint' then I though...hold on, why am I being asked some questions. contacted paypal and they said it was a scam.
 16.
Personally I won't share my rig, my insurance doesn't cover me in the instance of someone else using it and I can't afford to replace it if it was to go wrong in that scenario
How would they know who was playing it at the time
