1. Richtone music are always really reasonable with their second hand prices.
2. I am a bass player through and through. The great Billy Sheehan once said it is an absolute necessity to learn guitar as it is a great song writing tool, so I have. In hindsight though, I only play covers...
3. Gave it a go. Thankfully they've ditched Edith Bowman, she sucked all life out of it last year like some kind of entertainment vampire. I don't like the invite only aspect, I know plenty of guitar players better than anyone on the show (can't name them as their heads are already too big). Whilst programmes like x factor and the voice are devoid of musical talent, they do an amazing job of entertainment and have really changed the game for any form of talent show. Guitar star really tries to aim too high brow and falls sadly short on the fun front. I also didn't like that the mentors tutelage last year boiled down to an afternoon with the mentors. Big whoop! So for me, it's gone from last years most boring programme ever to this years bit on the dull side. I was looking what else was on half way through.
4. Last year's was one of the most boring and dissapointing things I've ever watched. I had high hopes when I started watching. This year's would have to be a quantum leap ahead of I am to bother.
5. Used mine at band practice tonight. Best £20 I ever did spend. Matched with my Harley Benton bass, a giggable rig for less than £100. Crazy.

7.
I'm also a mediocre player - in fact I'm probably less able then most people on here when it comes to playing bass. But... I also know that my expensive basses (Gus, Sei Warwick) are far easier to play than the cheap basses I've owned and therefore I sound less crap than I would if all I had was a cheap bass. On the whole cheap basses are only fun if you are into self-flagellation.
If my Harley Benton is self flagellation than I'm kinkier than I thought! It's a absolute pleasure to play .
8. I got a Harley Benton pb50 last year. Not a patch on my £1800 Warwick, but for some reason, a hell of a lot more fun to play! I'm never going to be good enough to need a bass as good as that Warwick, I'm a mediocre bassist in a covers band. Actually sold my Warwick. Cheap bases are genuinely more fun.
9. I'm always wary about electrical problems on semi hollows. Hard to get to the electrics to sort them. Lovely thing though.
10. My five would have to be Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) Bill Gould (Faith no More) Flea (the Chillies) Mani (Stone Roses) And the great that is my all time number one, Billy Sheehan.
11. Mine arrived today. We could start our own owners club.
12. Always be aware with ParceForce, musical instruments are not covered on their insurance.
13. I usually ring Hanford's first so they save one.
14. Get bubble wrap off the fruit and veg at any supermarket. Cardboard best sourced at your local Halford's, used bicycle boxes.
15. As mentioned already, unreliability. Singer would cancel every other week at the last minute. Used to get so annoyed when I got the text to say she wasn't coming half way through loading my gear into my car.
16. I've sold a fair few things through gumtree. I save the texts. Get the same number texting me with different names. Always the same though, they follow a script. Never ask about a bass or a guitar, always ask if my musical instrument is still for sale.. Gumtree always advise never to reply to an email different to the one used to contact you.
17. As long as you pay by PayPal, (not as a gift), then if the neck is not as advertised you can get your money back.
18.
So not really a moan about SoundCloud... but your home internet speed. I have a fairly standard home connection (TalkTalk) and it takes about 10 minutes or less to upload a 50-60Gb file to SoundCloud. Not trying to rub salt in the wound here; just saying that it shouldn't be taking anywhere near as long as you're reporting. Contact your Internet provider and give them some stick
50 - 60 gb? What are you uploading? Plans for the death star?
19. I was very much considering the bare knuckle p90 warpig but thinner neck and more frets are appealing too so change guitar. Thanks for the reccomendation.
20. This is an amazing guitar. Beautifully resonant, it really sings. The Gibson p90 pups give gorgeous cleans, bell like and clear with wonderful warmth. It will still kick out great blues and classic rock crunch too. Grover tuners. Gibson soft case and all case candy, with truss rod tool and Alan key. It is in truly excellent condition with just a few little nicks on the back. I play heavier stuff, I fell in love with this guitar for it's colour and resonance but in the end I have reluctantly decided I need humbuckers. So with a heavy heart I have decided to sell it to someone who will give it a good home. You won't be disappointed if you give it a play. Pickup or can post to UK mainland only.
21.
be prepared for a huge jump in output! Those things are loud!
By Jingo you were right! Great service from pickups plus eBay store, ordered Tuesday night, arrived Thursday afternoon. Just in time to pop them in and head to band practice. They push my amp into overdrive far more than even my active Warwick does! As someone mentioned previously, not quite the classic p bass tone but a nice growl tone. Seemed a little muddy till I adjusted the height then they sang. All my basslines were a good chunk higher gain tonight. Scratchplate needed a bit of filing but no probs with the depth of the routing in my Squier, plenty of room.
