6.
Even though this a superb bass it is now superfluous to my current needs and sadly has to go to make way for an incoming Godin fretless. It has a matched pair of Lindy Fralin pickups with separate CTS stack knob pots (250K/250K) for each. When the Gallery did the routing for the J-pickup I also had them put in a side-mounted jack and a rear battery box jsut in case I wanted to add a pre-amp at a later date. I will include a generic hard case. £770 plus postage. Collection welcome.
hi there is this bass a skyline model? rgards mike

  12.
Hi all Couple for sale in an attempt to raise funds for a vintage P bass.... First up is a 2007 Lakland Duck Dunn (Skyline). I'd been after one for ages, figuring that it'd be my perfect bass; the combination of P bass tone and Jazz neck would be absolutely perfect. However, after owning it for 2 weeks, I've come to the conclusion that I actually prefer my Bob Glaub - go figure! This is immaculate, not a scratch on it, and comes with the Levys Lakland padded bag. It plays like a dream, and sounds just like you'd expect it to (there's a load of sound clips on Lakland's website here.). I've just put a set of new D'Addario chrome flats on it for that typical Duck Dunn sound. This one has the Hanson pickups, and is fitted with black Dunlop locking strap nuts on - I'll include the strap parts with the bass. I got it for a good price, but I'm not looking to make any money on it - just to recoup what I spent, so it's up for £630 plus the actual cost of shipping. You can come and collect it from near to j.12 of the M40, or I might be able to meet up, depending on location. Hell, this might even become a collector's item since the Lakland takeover / sale Hi there, I am very interested in the Lakland, especially if it has a nice low action. Second up is a CIJ Japan-only '62 Precision Re-Issue. It's a 2002 model in Jamerson colours, and I've recently fitted a vintage thumb rest to complete the look. I've recently had this professionally setup to a medium action, and have also put D'Addario chrome flats on this one, too, so it's got that typical Motown sound to it. It's got a few dinks on it, and I've deliberately photographed these in detail to show them off. They're on the back edge of the bass (about in line with the jack socket) so they're not noticeable from the front, but I wanted highlight them anyway. Having owned this bass and also the £1500 American '62 Re-Issue, I can tell you that there's not a massive amount of difference between the two I've owned (apart from the price!). You can see why Fender kept these for Japanese markets only! I've only had this for a month, and again it's suffering from underuse due to my current Bob Glaub love-in (does that sound wrong?!?). Again, I got this for a decent price, but I'm just looking to recover my money on it. Bearing in mind that I just spent £65 on a pro setup and new set of flats, I'm looking for £450 for this, plus actual cost of shipping. Again, you can come and collect it from near to j.12 of the M40, or I might be able to meet up, depending on location. Any questions, fire away. I'm flying to Germany later on today for a meeting, so may be offline until late tonight, but will respond to any questions then. Cheers Tredders
13.
Hi - I'll probably regret this, but following the 'one in one out' rule I'm going to put my Squier Classic Vibe Jazz up for sale. I bought it from Moos3h (original thread here) & he'd upgraded it with GFS JB Pro Jazz Bass pickups (approx. $100 US shipped here), which give it a much fuller sound than the stock pickups (more details on the pickups here). Since it's been in my hands, I've had it restrung with La Bella 760FX flats (.39 - .96 - £28) & professionally set up (£30). I've also swapped the scratchplate for a Mighty Mite red tortoiseshell one (£20) & changed the standard knobs over to knurled chromed steel ones (£15). I still have all the original hardware, so I'll include that in the sale. Condition is good - the only thing to report is a crack to the headstock varnish - this happened before I bought it & you don't notice it unless you look directly at the end of the headstock (see the original thread for a good pic of it). Overall, I think it plays, looks & sounds much better that an off-the-shelf one - a couple of people who've played it were surprised it was a Squier! It came to me in a brand new hard case, so I'll be happy to sell it on with the case for £225 posted within the UK. Cheers, The bass looks great only the picture with the dent on the headstock is NOT clear at all B.
14.
new condition in own case should have polished!! £750
Hi there, logicalmike from Cardiff-Penarth-can you tell me how old the bass is and what make of strings. I play a early eighties Precision bought from Livewire cardiff. thanks mike
  15.
Thanks for your interest. The bass is setup close to the values that Fender give for bass guitars: For 9.5" to 12" radius: Relief at 8th fret = 0.012" (0.3 mm) Action at 17th fret 4th string = 6/64" (2.4 mm) Action at 17th fret 1st string = 5/64" (2 mm) I have just taken all three measurements and they are very close to those figures, tending to be very marginally higher by less than 1/64" in the case of the action, and 0.1 mm in the case of the relief. Given that I play with flats and consider myself to like a medium to high action I was surprised the measurement was so low. So, 'a nice low action'? I think that's too subjective to call. If you want a particularly low or lower action then I suspect a tightening tweak on the truss rod and some adjustment of the bridge pieces could achieve it. If you were going to use different strings than the TI Jazz Flats which are on it now you would need to redo the setup anyway. To me it's 'nice' as it is. Hi there any chance of you giving me a bell 02920 702644-as I am definetly interested in the bass. must leave library now..6 or 7 pm? thanks mike
I must admit your bass looks amazing-I tried one for the first time 6 months ago- it was a warick streamer and the action was just low and it was just so easy to play. Ah yes I just realised- are your strings extra long? sorry to ramble logicalmike
