1.
Love affair didn't last long then but I would have thought someone of Tim's calibre would not accept any old backline?
Billy Sheehan has a system that is very well known, nearly as much as the bass he uses, yet there's plenty of times he's been seen with different amps and cabinets. Saw a YT video a while back where I think he was using a Trace head lol
  2.
It Looks like Tim C isn't using the Barefaced cabs at this gig , any idea what these no name cabs are ?? https://www.youtube....h?v=TzyPw2lpWqo
The 810 looks like an Ampeg PR810h - but the pair of 4x10's actually look like a PR810h cut in half, because the 410hlf from the same series had massive ports on the bottom. Either way, I agree that backline rigs are not always what the artist wants and in some cases is not even remotely what the artist endorses. It depends on what the tour hire companies can supply.
  3.
Ah, spotted it. As you were, too many strings. GLWTS
Too many strings? Don't be daft! Practice, practice, practice!
  4. Ok, so - My headed has different strings on at the moment so it will feel different, but I'd be surprised if it was the same in that the same way as a guitar with a full locking trem feels different (on string bends especially) than a non-locking and floating trem. Tonally my basses have the same wood, same construction, same electronics and same pickups. The headed seems to have a bigger tone that is maybe a little scooped and a little brighter in the sort of 6k region. The headless by comparison has the same big punchy low end but has a slightly more mid focus and less of the 6k peak. That's only a side by side comparison and the differences are so subtle that you wouldn't tell at a gig and very easy to EQ in or out those subtleties. Further more, you couldn't then say that the headed was 'more toppy' than a passive jazz bass, because both tonally have very big tones, just different.
  5. Yes and Yes
  6. An 'Either this or my Combustion for sale' bump. Quick sale needed so will listen to purchase suggestions on the AB1 - or will deal on both at the same time!
  7.
I use http://www.karaoke-version.co.uk/ Not sure if it is exactly what you are after. They are decent covers, when you buy a track you can download it as much as you want and can keep or leave out any of the instruments each time.
Me too! Great for teaching too.
  8. I sold my SVT2 Pro and have regretted it. It's not as if I can even lug one around now having knackered my back, but it was a sublime sounding machine. So if I live vicariously through you for just a moment - keep it if you can
  9. A slightly road worn Marshall 1936 that I bought from a good friend with plans to use it for guitar. It hasn't seen a gig yet ha ha! So, I guess I'll let it go as I don't expect I'll be using it any time soon. Comes with wheels on too. Not gonna ship this one, obviously, so with that in mind £150 should seal it and if it does have V30's in? Then lucky you for a free extra!
Bugger! I used to play 5's all the time but have reverted back to 4's for the last 12 years or so....I'll wait for pics then to be properly tempted. :-)
It's in amazing condition, as new save for the brand new hardware that has been added. The pickups and electronics have not been touched or upgraded, I should add. They are amazing already! Ok, I'll do pictures in just a sec!

This isn't something I was planning to do but, as you will have seen on my other Dingwall thread, I need to clear some debts, including a hefty car service recently. It is a white combustion with maple neck and black pick guard, but has also been upgraded to all-black hardware including premium US Hipshot tuning keys NOT licensed. You will also get upgraded Dunlop Strap Lock Buttons too! The jack plate dish is also black. (Or I can change to Schaller locking buttons if you'd like) HIGH RES PICTURES LINKED BELOW I will add a hard case too. Combustion Series II Specifications: •New Dingwall made in Canada FD3n Neodymium pickups •EMG USA BT07 3-band pre-amp •Dingwall USA strings •Alder body - White •Maple Fingerboard with rolled edges - 37 - 34" scale - £45 option •Bone nut •Banjo frets •NOVAX® FANNED-FRET SYSTEM™ (see below) £1000 + Shipping (comes with a hard case and sent in a shipping box for safety)
  17.
These sound really interesting. Where did you get your moulds done, and at what price?
Well I have EBS_Freak and TonyF to thank for pointing me towards the rather awesome Custom IEM Company! http://www.custom-inearmonitors.co.uk They took care of the whole ordering process as well as being able to actually audition all of the top trusted brands. Prices have changed a bit since I got my moulds done but the great news is that my ear profiles are held digitally on file now so if I want to upgrade (which I have done) then no need to go back a second time, unless I want to of course Ear Plugs tend to be around the 140-180 mark I believe depending on where you go - but I truly believe if you get a good set they are worth every penny. I use mine all the time - hmm maybe they'll even work with 'the wife' lol!! The A8 in-ears I can't wait to try!
  18. I love the idea of a four band parametric! Wish more amps used them!
  19. I've just retired my ER15's (The ER bit in the ACS model name is the company Etymotic Research who make the filters. Also known as Elacin or Hearos) They've been brilliant for years but I've just received some brand new 64 Audio ADEL technology earplugs. Very excited about them as they go a few steps further to saving hearing on top of the already superb volume control of filtered plugs. I can't bang on enough how important decent ear plugs are - and when you 'go moulded' you'll never go back! I'm just waiting for my new 64 Audio ADEL A8 IEMs to appear soon too!
  20.
Have you tried Roland UK? I needed a load of bits to repair a pedal a year or so ago and they were really cheap
I have now yes. £8 - Still steep for a £1.50 push switch but cheaper than a new pedal I suppose. Will order when I get a mo.
  21. I've got a set of the rather awesome 64 Audio ADEL ear plugs too! - They're here already. Will post some pictures very soon.
  22. A really nice transaction with JK, lots of information, up to date tracking and really good up-close pictures of the item. Came shipped in a hard case but also properly packed inside a shipping box too. A little extra effort went a long way and is appreciated! Thank you!
  23.
You don't want to. It's more a matter of few months than few weeks, so glwts. If it will be up by then i'll contact You.
Awww Doman, well I hope that you manage to get sorted as you need and should the AB1 still be available, shoot me a line! No problem. *** For those interested, I could entertain a small amount of travel if need be. I'm also down in London around once a month too for meet ups etc. ***
  24.
Hi All, {snip} I am though interested in maybe changing the valves as Dood suggested, I don't use the overdrive that much on the amp cause I think it's pretty poor so maybe some new valves might beef that up. Thanks!
I haven't ever used the drive section on the Kilo. I've never been able to get it to do what I would like.
