1.
I reckon this is a 2015 model, bud. You bought this very shortly after Bass Direct took delivery from Canada last year.
Now you mention it, yes that's completely logical! It must be a 2015!
 2. Quite like the idea of putting one of those single coil size pups right up next to the neck and the split in the usual position. Bet that would sound fat!
 3. Cool, even ha ha!
 4. I'll have a good read of this thread later as my current level of GAS is requiring me to get a bass (or neck alone) with a massive baseball bat profile. The massive U profile and tele headstock I think could be coo!
 5. Is still for sale!
 6.
Now there's service for you....the personal touch..
Just brilliant, A++++!
 7. A bass I wouldn't be at all upset about owning! Very nice buddy!
 8.
I was literally just going to PM you dood
HA HA HA HA!!!
 9.
Lovely, lovely bass! GLWTS
Karlfer will know what I mean when I exclaim "Nyaaaarghhhhhh!!!!"
 10. Likewise, I am too far away, but I would love to have some suggestions and examples of the playing styles to listen to! If you have any music released Baan, it'd be great to hear it!
 11.
The crucial 3 albums; Skylarking Apple Venus Nonsuch Followed by; Wasp Star English Settlement Oranges and Lemons Such a good group, I even have a soft spot for Mummer

Yeah, I'd pretty much agree with that.
As my knowledge of XTC lacks greatly, I was about to ask where I should start when it comes to listening pleasure and I am very pleased to see the question was answered before I asked! Spotify Playlist coming up ha ha!!
 12.
... a year of that is the waiting list unfortunately. Wal only turn out a couple of finished instruments a month. One builder and one helper when I paid a visit last year, it's a very small operation.
Yup, It's also much easier to knock out template clones too, so you can expect those faster - but if the instrument is completely bespoke, right down to the neck profile in millimetres, then I think it's fair to have to wait a bit longer. This is especially the case when it is one master-quality luthier with 30 instruments on the waiting list. But oh boy is the wait worth it if you go down the completely custom route. Jon Shuker of www.shukerguitars.co.uk is one such luthier with an eye for detail that is the envy of others!
 13. Outstanding communications! Gilles's advert not only had very specific instrument details but also some super high resolution photographs. On sealing the deal, I received clear updates including scans of any paperwork. You can't really ask for more, brilliant! Looking forward to new bass noises
 14.
All sorted now after a quarter turn on the truss rod and a tweak on the saddle height... still think I might have a duff B string though as in order to get the intonation right I had to set the saddle almost right back as far as it will go
Excellent! I'm really pleased! Similarly I've had the same problem with a B too from another brand, it just didn't want to 'go there' lol.
 15. Oh good lord. Definitely need to go sit down for some quiet contemplation...
 16.
Thanks for that I'll have a read up and look at the options. Think I'll have a play around with the action this afternoon and see what I can come up with.
I think I am right in saying that if you have buzzes at the bottom of the neck it's usually neck relief and if it's at the top it's action that needs adjusting. Good luck!
 17.
Yeah I did consider that, steel prosteels only go up to a 130 on the B I think, do you think going up to a 135 would make an appreciable difference? I think maybe I just need to raise my action a little bit. Playing on the B string a lot in my new band further up the neck and getting a tad to much string clank for my tastes when I dig in.
You'll certainly go up in tension so the strings will feel tighter at the same pitch and scale length. Here's the D'Addario tension charts: http://www.daddario....chart_13934.pdf - This is a great document and is very useful for choosing the right gauge when drop tuning as well to keep the same tension. There's also this superb interactive 'app' too from D'Addario which I think will be useful: http://stringtensionpro.com If it's just 'clack' you are trying to sort out then yes you may find that adjusting the instrument set up may help too. A little more neck relief and/or raising the action will dramatically change the feel of the instrument. Indeed I have been less inclined to play a particular bass because of the set up. When I finally pulled my finger out and did a set up properly it went from being a sentimental ole dawg to being my 'go to' lesson bass!
 18. Have you thought about just going up a gauge?
 19. I can go to £75 on this one for a quick sale. It is boxed as new. No more price drops.
 20.
Why does every gorgeous Dingwall that comes up have to be a 5
Because it's one more betterer! he he!!
I think their main drive is towards 5s and 6s, but it's often overlooked what fantastic 4s they make, too. My black 'n maple ABZ4's going absolutely nowhere...sorry Karl This is a bazzer, too...there just aren't enough yellow basses in the world...and the P-Tone pickup is terrific..
A more sensible answer! Thank you. Yes, the P Tone pickup is a great unit for sure! It's likely that I am going to pick up a P bass for some work I have up and coming. I'm shortlisting things with chunky maple necks and looking at budget, though there is a bass or two I have my eye on right now so I am open to quick sales on this one. Drop me a line.
 21. Smooth and easy transaction with Pete. A nice shiny compressor has landed at Gales Towers! Thanks Pete!
 22.
Very nice What does Fender call that colour?
"Snaps underwear elastic" Red
 23.
oh my I need new underwear!!!
I've gone for some quiet time in a darkened room to calm down!
 24. £2200 given current condition. Bass comes with Dingwall premium case too, tools and supplied paperwork.
